Lol I didn't realize that's what you were asking. Its where the rafters are higher so you can finish the attic and use it as livable space. |

Can I just say how glorious it was to not have to get the kids ready and take them to school? M had a major meltdown when I told her I had to leave for work but she was okay by the time I left. I did her hair, got her changed & made all of their food for today so it's not like MH had to do everything. I probably should have made him do everything, huh? It is glorious! I'm gone before the kids are up so MH des everything. I do pack lunches but that's it |

nam2013 feeling anxious! I was drowning with two, I have no idea how I'll manage, but my mom is staying at my house to watch P until late November so that will help big time. She'll take care of a lot of random cleaning and organizing stuff while I'm working. She's basically our housewife.

The house we're moving into has been vacant for 2 months. We were hoping for a week of early occupancy and paying rent to the sellers but they declined.  So far from everyone I've talked to in the neighborhood they sound like assholes. I was hoping for about 5 days to have a more leisurely time to move and unpack in the process. For every local move I've minimized the amount of boxes I've used and just loaded a few Costco boxes taken them to the new place and immediately unpacked and repeat. This was all the kitchen and closets are good to go. It doesn't look like that will work out so it will probably be a rush to move everything and clean in 2 days. Hmph. At least the end is in sight. That sucks! Why would they say no when the house is vacant!? Our last move we had to be out of our old house before we got our new house (same day). It was not ideal! We ended up replacing flooring and it took longer than anticipated so we lived out of a moving truck and slept on air mattresses for the first week. Man, I hate moving. All I can come up is they are assholes. They are turning down money they could have which would make things much more convenient for us. Our realtor was trying to say that some people don't like to do it because it's a liability. I call BS on that. I've done it before. It's no liability because you sign your rights away with the rental contract. It's more work for the realtor because it's another doc to draw up but beyond that we'd sign rights away that any damage or maintenance discovered needed during those couple of days we're renting that we're responsible for. As far as utilities sign them over to us and we'll pay them. Too easy. So we'll probably have a night or two in a hotel. MH mentioned we could stay with his dad. I have no desire to drive a moving van 45 minutes to his house and sharing a creepy basement bedroom with our whole family and then having almost an hour added to my commute. No other option is ideal. I just want to get moved so we can finally get settled. We've already had about 75% of our belongings in our garage for the past month. |

peachsmama, so exciting! They are moving fast!! I didn't realize it's already framed. Is your other family on the property nearby or do you have a lot of space? cagoldi wishing you a happy last day of mat leave. I seems like it went so quickly. I'm glad your mom will be there to help and you'll still get to see baby P throughout the day. flamingo I'm sorry you're dealing with such a stressful situation. Maybe you should paint some ugly stripes in the living room or something like a red accent wall with shiplap on all the others including the ceiling.

If I didn't like the owner so much, I'd be sorely tempted. I think we "won" this round with the property manager and the owner called last night to tell us that he has taken over the mgt of the pool completely and we do not need to deal with the PM any more WRT that, so he clearly knows they suck at life. Amazingly, we have already heard from the pool company TWICE to give us a rundown of scheduling and set up the first step for the new liner. Amazing how the property manager is removed from the picture and things start moving! |

So talk about a win-win...
DH has 14 days of vacation (in addition to what we already have planned in August) to use or lose by end of September. SO he's proposing that he'll take C down to visit his folks for one long weekend (Wed-Sat) in September once B goes back to school. So that will leave me with three days with just one kiddo--who's at school for a chunk of the day--and then he and I can do fun stuff in the afternoons that is harder to do with C. AND I get out of a visit to the ILs'!!

Moving is the pits but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's super weird. And I'm glad to hear others think it's weird. The realtor claimed it isn't done that often. I've done it that way before and so have my parents. All the owners have to do to excuse themselves of liability is have it be a stipulation in the rental agreement. But by all means, let it sit there empty for a few more weeks.  I plan to be a bitch on the final walkthrough 3 days before and point out anything I can find for them to address. |

Hey! I have had a low key day. MIL picked up the girls this morning and took them to a play at a park. I decided not to go into work so I got a couple hours at home to myself. This afternoon I got my new tree planted, now I need some mulch and that project will be done. It looks so good. Tonight H has VBS and DH has softball as long as it doesn’t storm as forecasted. Yay for getting the house set peachsmama! lfig I hope S is feeling better soon. Congrats on the new job nam2013 |

Well P was up at four and has only slept thirty minutes all day, she also didn't keep down a single feeding.
Time to ask the pedi to up her Zantac.
