Prime Day Monday

Morning! I got to work a bit early since I had to duck out for almost 2 hours for my pulmonary function test. So much breathing in and out, I left with a massive headache, feeling light headed. I have my follow-up with the doctor to review the results, but my lung capacity is definitely not normal. He did a bunch of tests, had me take a nebulizer treatment, then we repeated the tests. My results improved but were still below normal. We'll see what the doctor has to say though.

Not too much else going on. Colin is supposed to be going to the petting zoo tomorrow so I'm hoping the storms hold out until they get back. I'm also hoping that Chase's stomach continues improving. His last dirty diaper yesterday wasn't totally liquid but I'm not feeling entirely hopeful. Poor guy.

No I honestly hadn't even thought about it - he's such a second kid.    He had bananas, apple sauce, toast and saltines all weekend which fortunately are all things he loves.

Also on the topic of Prime Day, we need a new scale. I have a few pounds to lose and I hate no knowing if I've been making progress. Does anyone have scale recommendations? I just want one that works.

peachsmama if you don't already, you might want to add flossing to their routine, too. I have B lie on the bed crosswise so his head is at the edge, and I stand behind/over him and floss that way (if that makes sense?) That was my dentist's tip and I do find it helps. I feel like I brush his teeth very thoroughly but sometimes I still manage to get "stuff" out.

Also am I the only one who hasn't bought an iPad or Fire or something for their kiddos? I think it's time, especially with Colin starting kindergarten in the fall. Now to convince DH...

joelies, Cadence doesn't have her own, she uses mine. However, mh just bought a new one for himself, so he will probably give her his old one. She only watches youtube on it. I may wipe it clean and add some educational games on it for her.

Oh wait....mh half brother got her one a year or so ago, but she doesn't use it. It requires a parent's password to access the internet. I told her it was 1111, but that's too much trouble for her.

We have one that I've resorted to a couple times (like last week when I had to distract X before surgery) but they mostly aren't interested. I get about 2-3 minutes of entertainment for them before they want to run around.

It's a double-edged sword. I'm glad they stay busy with other things because I prefer to wait with that stuff, but it would be nice if I could actually enjoy eating at a restaurant once in awhile.

We got LO a kids kindle two years ago because I was driving to San Diego which is a little less then 3 hours if the traffic isn't bad. I was also flying with him a lot at that time. He also has a gen 1 iPad that we just put movies on. I will say the kids kindle with that blue case was left on top of my car by C and stayed on there from my house to work which I drove 70 on the freeway so if you get the kids kindle make sure you get the case. It was worth it.

Afternoon, Ladies! This morning was hectic getting the older kids over to another week of VBS. Then I had to take Theo & Bea over to Vital Records to get their birth certificates and sign Theo up for pre-school. He literally just made the cut-off for young three's since he had to be 3 by 1/1 and that is his birthday.

Today is my 6 week PP check-up too. Fun times.

joelies the kids don't have their own, but I have 1 and for some reason MH has 2 (one that is mostly used for work and one that is not). Anyway, S uses all 3. He's funny too, cuz he totally has preferences, like he'll only want mine one day or only want daddy's work one or something. Yes, they do have different apps, but 99% of the time he is just on youtube or youtube kids.

MH is adamantly against them getting their own. But lets them use ours all the time, so...

We will be figuring out how to load them with movies before the Chicago trip next month. Or at least Moana, since that's the only movie B will watch for more then 2 seconds.

We have a Roomba, so different brand, but I absolutely love it. It keeps the dog hair at bay and is great at maintaining a semblance of cleanliness. I set mine so it runs automatically (I do close the doors to bedrooms where we have carpet).

I'm not really into my kids having their own electronic devices at this point in time, so no, mine do not.

We are considering getting a basic one for movie-watching on our long car trips but otherwise they won't have access to it. We currently use mH's iPad for that, but with C being older it would be nice to have a second one.

Both kids have iPads, but they don't have free access to them. I keep them in a drawer in the kitchen. I take them out to pack if we're bringing them somewhere. And every so often Josie will ask to take it to play with if Charlie's napping.
We do have a lot of good apps if anyone needs recommendations.
Also, Alphablocks and Number Blocks as an app and on YouTube are excellent!

No iPads/tablets in our home. I would like one though, for the kids. If I could get a tablet for the price of a kindle we would have bought one a long time ago. For now just use my/dh’s phone for YouTube etc.
