I’m having a small outbreak of dishydrotic eczema. I first got it when I was pregnant with DD3 and it was horrible right after she was born. I had so many blisters on my hands, it hurt so bad and was so itchy. Right now it’s contained to two spots on my left foot but for the love they hurt and itch. We have no plans today except to watch Fancy Nancy in Disney Junior. Lol. I also need to take baby’s 6 month pictures and clean the basement. At the moment I don’t feel like doing anything though. OMG! I have this too! I finally Dr. Googled it a couple weeks ago. Luckily mine is not bad, I will get a couple tiny blisters on my finger. More annoying than anything because I can feel the little bumps when my fingers rub together. Ive never met or heard of anyone else knowing what this is!!! That’s how mine started when I was pregnant, just very minor and annoying. Then the couple days before I was induced it got worse and was HORRIBLE after delivery. Like as bad as you see in some of the google photos. It was by in large the WORST part of my recovery with DD3. I was worried it would come back with a vengeance when I was pregnant again, but I think it’s heat + stress that brings it on the most.

So Liv has a weird widespread rash. I started to feel under the weather yesterday... Very sore throat, the muscle pains I mentioned earlier, intestinal distress 🙈 Do we think it could possibly just be her reaction to whatever virus I must have? The rash was slightly there yesterday but full force today. Maybe that's also why she slept like shit last night? I did find a swollen lymph node on the back of her head as well. No fever, rash is asymptomatic. It's flat. Not substantially warm. She's not scratching it. Not on the soles of her feet but it is on her palms. No blister-y like development. It's ALL over. Under her diaper, scalp, etc. I thought at first maybe the new probiotics, so I got what we were using to eliminate that. Bc it's under her diaper I assume it's internal not detergent but I bought Dreft too since I just moved her to all free & clear. Can I get some mommy opinions? I'm tempted to say if it doesn't go away by Monday I'll call the Dr. Her dedication is Sunday though and if she's got something nasty I hate to potentially expose peeps to it.

(That pic is a little washed out) It looks viral to me but I am not even close to very experienced with this sort of thing. G has had rashes like that before but it was always accompanied by a fever for 24 hours. I would say without a fever, it’s probably already run its course through her. The rash is (from what I remember) the last part of a virus. If it’s still bad Monday, I would take her in. I would just not let people touch her on Sunday.

It got so bad that I went to reddit for solutions, and amazingly the one I found worked wonders (even though it is kind of a pita). I did the soak version, and after a few days it cleared up and has hardly been back since: www.google.ca/amp/s/www.optiderma.com/skin-conditions/apple-cider-vinegar-for-dyshidrotic-eczema-pompholyx-blisters/amp/

I have severe skin allergies. Dreft is way harsh compared to All Free and Clear. Otherwise it could be viral. A lot of my reactions are exacerbated by internal conditions like stress or viruses. I wouldn’t be concerned at all unless she had a high fever. Rashes are the worst bc they are such mysteries!

sarahh is there a reason for the color black? Maybe it is just me but that seems like an odd color to have for a "theme day" ajetter I am also team shutterfly aprilz81 with DD, our daycare sometimes has "theme days" but none of it is mandatory. If we have the items at home and she wants to wear it, then we do it. I am not going out of my way to buy something new. Today was actually PJ day...and DD loved it. dragonflyinn I got my period 8 weeks PP. It sucked. (I am not breastfeeding so I know that makes a big difference)

sunfrogger I tend to overreact so I am probably not the best to give my opinion. The rash is probably viral but also could be a skin reaction to detergent. Do you use lotion on her? If it is still there, I would take her in on Monday

We got out at 2:30 today because we hit our walking challenge goal for June. It was nice and I got to run all of my errands without a time schedule. When I got home H had bought Adirondack chairs for our deck to surprise me for my birthday. I’m super excited to use them.

yellow711 I that’s why I’m so annoyed haha I am BF-ing! And did with DD too for a year & a half, but still got it back with her at 6mo. So not super surprised to get it at this point w DS, just wished that his piggy self would have at least made it take a little longer haha

With my first two I got my period the week of their first birthdays.
I was 34 when I got my pp period w DS2 and it was legit. Ever since then my body screams from the rooftops when I’m about to ovulate and the day before it comes I can’t be trusted.
If I got my period earlier than say 10 months pp I’d be surprised.

My husband tells me he has eczema on his hands but I always wondered because he would show me bubbles on his hands during a breakout. That's what this is!!! Do you guys avoid using lotion etc? He basically won't touch any form of lotion ever. He did have a steroid cream for bad breakouts. I hope my sons don't get it.

Thanks guys! We were using Dreft since birth and switched to all f&c the other day. Fx It's just a virus.
S/O not feeling well I feel like complete shit. I literally can barely walk or pick up Olivia because my body hurts so much specifically the tendons in my forearms and calves. I'm planning to call my OB tomorrow bc I panicked it could be from the IUD. I've also had my period for 8 days now which is.... Not normal for me.

jessijean in general I’m just careful to avoid scented lotions or harsh toxins. But during a breakout lotion doesn’t seem to help me at all. Only steroid cream. And keeping it from getting warm because that just makes it so itchy I want to die. Sounds dramatic but I know at one point when it was real bad I felt like I wasn’t going to survive. I couldn’t sleep because I was so itchy and I couldn’t take Benedryl because I had to be coherent enough to take care of a newborn.

I found that the steroids didn't really work for mine on my hands. They got so bad that the skin would be split open for ever and had a really hard time healing. An apple cider vinegar soak followed by coconut oil was the only thing that I ever found to work. Humid heat is a huge trivet for me, so I do my best to avoid it.

Maybe because it was Friday the 13th? It’s very odd because most kids don’t wear black clothing. If it were for adults I’d be good because that’s mainly what I wear. Haha

I remember having it a couple other times in the last couple of years and I always thought it was from like spider bites or some type of bug, thankfully its not bad. Sorry yours is so bad and it sucks there is not much they can do for it!
