I'll give yellow711 a break from making all the threads. Happy hump day! Show all the babies and tell me what you're looking forward to this weekend!

Here is DD2s first experience with watermelon. We just let her suck on it but wow, she really went to town! She's been so grabby at food that I'm pretty sure once we start solids they will go really well. Liv napped on me all weekend and it was amazing. IG repeat but a family photo from hanging with my parents this weekend. I hate how I look in this picture so this might be the motivating factor to try to start working out.

yellow711, I'm 5'10" and wear a 10.5. I wore a 9 before I got pregnant with DD1 and a 10 after and then after having DD2 I'm now a 10. I seriously have like 6 pairs of shoes including flip flops. I can't get rid of my favorite shoes and boots though because I have hope my feet will shrink again which I doubt. Not sure if you are looking for flats but I LOVE my Rothy's. I wear a 10.5 in them and a 10 or 10.5 in other shoes.

Our fireworks were rescheduled because it rained on the 4th so we stayed up late last Saturday and went downtown to watch. I love when DD2 naps and holds my hand 😍

Love the pics! We're doing good here. DH got a new job at a place he used to work. He is going back to be a director! We are excited b/c he'll be working in our town (instead of a half hour drive for his current job) plus it is a bit of a pay raise/good benefits. I think baby V got upset last night b/c I put her in a different sleep sack. She must really really love her usual one. She took like 40 min to settle and then woke up 90 minutes later and was not happy again. I had washed the usual so put her back in it and she slept until almost 5am. She really is good to me. DS kept me awake some last night but not as bad as the 2 previous nights so not bad. It is maddening that my 5 month old is a better sleeper than my almost 3yo. We are going to a special music/dance event at the library today. Not much else going on. I also need to make a Target run at some point, maybe we'll do that this afternoon!

This is shaping up to be a long week. Work is busy and Faith isn't sleeping well at night. We are making progress in that she doesn't expect to be picked up every time she cries now, she usually just needs her pacifier. Did I share this picture of DH and Faith? I don't remember... It is so cute and my mom thought it was photoshopped because she hadn't seen Faith stick out her tongue yet.

Now that we are sending solids to daycare with Faith I have more questions... How much and how often?
She is 5.5 months old and her current eating schedule looks something like this: 7:30 am - 4-5 oz formula 10:30 am - 4-5 oz formula 1:30 pm - 4 oz formula and 1/2 a jar of baby food 4:30 pm - 4-5 oz formula 7:30 pm - 4-5 oz formula midnightish - 4 oz formula (dream feed)
I know for awhile the baby food is more to help develop tastes and work on texture/swallowing, but I know it will take more than 1/2 a jar a day to get there. Help me feed my baby! #clueless
When do I increase the amount of solids? When do I start replacing (some) formula with more solids?

aprilz81 I'm by no means an expert since my first child didn't like food. I think up until the age of 1, their primary food is formula or breastmilk so you can't expect to replace much of that with baby food. B is 6.5 months and this is her schedule: 6:30am - 6 oz forumula 9:30am - 6 oz formula 12pm 1/2 - 1 jar baby food 12:30pm 6 oz formula 3:30pm 6 oz formula 7 pm 6 oz formula Someone mentioned Mum Mums on the tread yesterday so I just ordered some of those for her to snack on when she gets home from daycare around 6:30. And I guess at some point I'll need to add another thing of baby food but I'm not in a huge rush for that yet because effort.

aprilz81 Ian’s schedule is like this. I am by far not an expert and I have skipped meals when it wasn’t convenient for me but this is what works for us. (6 1/2mo) 6:30ish 6oz bottle 9:45ish 6oz bottle 12ish 1 container of gerber 1st foods 1ish 5oz bottle 3:45ish 6oz bottle 5ish 1/2 of a gerber 2nd foods container 6:45ish 5oz bottle I base changes in eating based on milestones. When he was comfortably sitting while supported and showing interest in food, I started with food at lunch. When he started getting comfortable sitting independently (he can do it for a minute or so) I started a second meal. When he is crawling I will either increase the size of a meal or add in breakfast. At some point I will replace middle bottles ( 9:45 and 3:45) with snacks. My goal is no more bottles by 1 year old. I did it with G but every baby is different so I don’t know if it will work.

Morning! Our little campers! Baby on a boat Wondering if this sand is something she can eat And our anniversary fun day! She’s 6 months old today so I’ll be taking that picture later too! Well, our current plan for the weekend is to go up to the ILs cabin tomorrow to spend some time there. But their hometown was hit by a hard storm last night and they have trees and fences down with a lot of cleanup, so not sure yet if we’ll be headed that direction instead to help, or if they are just going to call it since some people with chainsaws came over to help at least get the trees chopped up last night, and they may head to the lake today and deal with the mess later.

sarahh we also just gave N a mum mum yesterday and she loved it! We purée some stuff, but BLW is so much easier to me lol. aprilz81 I don’t really have a feeding schedule to share yet because I’m still pretty laid back about it. We had been doing real food maybe one meal a day but now that she’s 6 months we’ll start twice a day, and eventually just evolves from there.

Happy hump day! I haven’t shared photos in a while. I am looking forward to a weekend getaway with MH. After the week we had, it will be so nice to get out of town. We are headed north (we live in MI) where there’s sandy beaches, wine for days and sunshine. 🏖 🍷 ☀️ DD1’s face when she saw princesses were in the parade. This is my new favorite photo of her. ❤️ And my little chunk with her cheeks 😍

pinkcat, I love photos of your DS. His big eyes and round, bald head are just so adorable! aprilz81, we’ve been so lazy with food, but once we go through a few foods, I’ll send a couple ounces to daycare for her to eat around lunchtime. Right now, I give her a little bit of food at dinner when it’s convenient for me. I remember being so stressed out on how to introduce food and how many bottles/ounces should she be eating, but it just kind of works itself out. You’ll get the hang of it! Hopefully by introducing some foods, Faith sleeps a little better at night. 🤞🏻

Hello!! We hit up the waterpark last Saturday. H is going to be gone today until Saturday for a big car show so I will be solo parenting again. Not much else new except it sounds like our contractor wants to pour the basement by the end of next week!! Yay

We're heading to PEI this weekend for a wedding and we will be staying in a two bedroom cottage for an extended stay. I'm so excited to have a big change from our everyday! Here's a picture of DS with his new portable lego table: Here's DD giggling and wiggling a few days ago:

aprilz81 I remember w DD our pedi said to go at whatever pace we wanted, with a goal of three “meals” of solids during normal “mealtimes” (meaning when we would regularly eat breakfast lunch & dinner) by 10-11mo. This giving baby time to adjust to a “real-person” eating schedule. So if you chose to wean after a year, baby already understood regular eating times & just increase the amount of food given at those times. We haven’t started with DS (he will be 6mo on Saturday) but I plan to next week after I get groceries. I’ll start in the mornings so it’s out of his system by bed & anything new hopefully won’t disrupt his sleep.
