thechickencoop good to see you! No STTN here either. She usually only wakes up once but tonight she’s been up 3 times so far and it’s only midnight. So that’s nice. 😜

Taitai your updates have been great! I can't stop thinking about them and it's easing my mind during all of these night feeding lately. I am so anxious for these last 5. (5, right?) Yep - it’s the last 5. I really hope they can get them all out today. I think that is the intention, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

I should go to bed now after just finished sewing lil fella's bolster but I had to get online to read updates on the rescue mission. I am so nervous for the last 5. Praying all can be rescued today since I read it's been raining there? I am also reading that the families are grateful to the coach and I've been thinking how incredible that he was able to get them away from the rising floods and keep the kids all together with none injured and keep their spirits up for 10 days with no food and possibly light - in total darkness. Crap! just thinking of total darkness which I don't even think I've ever experienced is frightful in itself.

August Blooms, did you give her whole eggs? I read somewhere that typically eggs are introed around 12 months due to allergic reaction. Egg yolks are fine though and it's the protein strain found in the egg whites which can cause an allergic reaction. Something to discuss with the pedi maybe? It's a bummer, eggs are such a good source of protein for babies. Heck! even I will have a couple of hard boiled eggs in my salads.

rebeccabunch, I take the lecithin only when I have clogs. CoachTsWife, lil fella woke 30 mins into his am nap so I just stuck him back on the clogged boob and he nursed back to sleep and got the clog out! However, I was stuck with him latched on for 45 mins because I was afraid transferring him would wake him up. You win some and lose some but I rather get stuck and not be able to get to some house chores than deal with a clog.

duskymonkey I did do whole eggs, I’m going to check in with my naturopath too to see if she has any insight... I do feel like I introduced eggs later with DD1 but I’ve been so lazy about introducing solids this time that 50% of the time I’m tossing stuff on her tray for her to try. Sorry second kid.

I though the recommendation now was to Introduce all allergen foods early! Obviously with caution if there are actually allergies in immediate family. DS has definitely already had whole eggs, has pretty much from 6 months on. He likes scrambled eggs and they are a quick and easy protein!

DS doesn’t sttn either. He is consistent with one wake up around 3:30. He sleeps from 6.30-6:30 with that brief feeding wake up in there which I’m good with. He is also less interested in nursing during the day as he’s so busy so i’m hesitant to night wean. We have his 9 month check up Friday and I might ask the pedi her thoughts. I’m pretty sure he has gone up in percentiles since we introduced solids, kid loves to eat. So he might be ok to nightwean. He nurses 5 sometimes 6 times in 24 hours but usually 1-2 of those are quick snacks.

doodlemommy That’s what I thought, I think the only one they recommend now is waiting until one for honey. We’ve done peanut butter with no problems... I’ve also tried at bit of yogurt but it’s made with goats milk... I’ll probably try cheese later today... I was so on top of these things with DD1, I had a checklist lol

DS has tried shellfish, regular fish, peanut butter, yogurt/cheese (he actually pukes with regular yogurt but is ok with Greek which is double pasteurized. He might have the same lactose issues as DH 🤷♀️), citrus/strawberry, and eggs. The only common allergen he hasn’t tried yet is tree nut (like almond butter), I think we’ve hit all the others! BLW is handy for that because he just gets what we get and as we have no allergies all those foods are fair game. I did try to watch him the first couple times I introduced those foods obviously but he’s been ok with everything except regular yogurt!

August Blooms , doodlemommy , you a both correct however if there is a family history of allergies like doodlemommy , said proceed with caution and from what I've read, yolks aren't the main cause for egg allergy. Definitely no honey due to risk of infant botulism. Unfortunately for us lil fella doesn't seem to like eggs. I started last week after all the egg talk and made chawan mushi - maybe it was too plain. Scrambled with butter went a little better but he either doesn't like the taste or texture. He seems to be much fussier than DS whom will just about eat anything we give him. We've been eating yogurt daily for a couple of months now and he loves it and will eat his weight if I let him LOL! I haven't introed shellfish, fish is totally fine and it was the first animal protein he tried. ETA. He had some quiche this weekend and loves it so I am guessing it's not that he doesn't like eggs, he just likes food with lots of flavour.
