Not really. C got up at 5am saying he wet the bed. It was just a little bit of pee in his pants luckily but he was up for the day. I'm covering the front desk at work all day today. We are doing a volunteer day of service thing and half the office is there today and I go with the other half on Friday. Today is going to drag out forever since so many people are out.

Morning! Was supposed to go to a lake with a friend this morning, but the weather wasn’t cooperating, so we went to an indoor play area. These type of venues are stuff of my nightmares, but because we were so early it was doable. Hadn’t seen my friend in three weeks, it was so nice to catch up! Had my performance review yesterday, I was nervous, but they were so positive .

Hiii! Letty seems to be recovered from HFM finally. We finished unloading the uhaul yesterday... so now we wait for the storage containers. I’m soooo ready to get out of my BIL’s house. They live so differently than us so it’s not great being here.

sands42 , in general I find it difficult to be in someone elses house for an extended period of time with the kids. How long till the containers are set to arrive?

Baby Martha has a cold. She's sneezing, has a runny nose and eye and just looks a bit pitiful. I cleaned up her nose with a baby wipe and I"m watching that she continues to eat and drink. I'm going to call the vet this morning to get her an appointment for a check up, but I'm wondering if I should wait until her cold clears up. wedding do you know if there is a difference between the symptoms of colds and allergies in cats? Or is it just a "if the symptoms clear up in 10-14 days then it was a cold" type of thing?

Morning. En route to Legoland. We're so excited!
TW: . . . . . . . . . .
I had a dream that I couldn't find X, and went out and saw him floating facedown in the pool. This was right as my alarm was going off so I woke up a mess. Obviously this is some allegory about my concerns with his eating and stuff. Woof.

Cat's don't often have allergy symptoms like people do. They can get a URI that is viral vs bacterial and will go away on its own with time, but for a young kitten and other cats around usually you would want to treat with antibiotics ASAP. Not uncommon with a shelter cat coming home. A good OTC vitamin supplement for her and your others is Lysine. You can get a powder to sprinkle over their food and it can help ward of colds. We gave it to the shelter cats daily.

Ugh cagoldi those kinds of dreams are the worst. I’m sorry. Morning loves! I’m sitting out front drinking coffee and enjoying some quiet. We’re still in quarantine with HFM but it looks like it’s starting to scab/clear up a bit so hopefully I can be back in the gym soon. I’m debating taking the kids on a walk once Lucas leaves for summer school, but we will have to see how quick it heats up. 110 hear today. I went to happy hour with two college girlfriends last night. One of them Just got engaged and asked us to be bridesmaids. It should be fun, the four of us she is asking are all really good friends from college from when we bartender and waited tables together.

Speaking of feeling off, S has been obsessed with getting old and death lately. I have no idea why (no one around us has died or anything).
I don't know if I mentioned this but a few weeks ago, my in laws were visiting my BIL and family in Germany. We were facetiming them when they got home - they were telling us all about the trip, and S kept trying to "tell me a secret" but I couldn't understand him. When we got off the phone I asked him what he wanted to say and he said "Momnmy, I think someone in Germany died." When I followed up a bit he just whispered, creepily "I just know someone died"
Then 2 days ago, S whispers to me "Mommy, I think Great Grandma died." He said it like 3 times and then I changed the topic b/c he scared me.

jewels ooh, that is creepy, poor Great Grammy lol! B went through a phase in the fall where he was very concerned with death/DH and me dying, etc. I think a lot of it is the age. In our case, too, that was the first time DH was gone for an extended period (over a month) and I think that played into it a bit. Also, we drove by a cemetery every day on the way to preschool, so that prompted LOTS of questions.

Morning!
We had swim lessons this morning and now we're back at the house. Currently sitting on the floor while C styles my hair...lucky me! My sister had a good night with baby and has sent more pics. He is so chubby and sweet. I am dyyyying to get down there.
No big plans today, the weather seems like it can't decide what it wants to do. I want to figure out paint colors to use in the kids' bath and our bath, I would love to get started on painting over the stripes in the kids bathroom!

If her nose is crusty you can also do a little saline. It works a little better than straight water to get the crust off and will lubricate inside a little and soothe.

jewels, That is creepy! C went through a death phase too but never insisted anyone was dead but did ask a lot. Like if we didn't see someone he would say "is that because their dead?". Unsettling but he got past it in a few weeks time. Semi-related: last night we were ready a dinosaur book and C had a lot of questions about extinction and what that means. It went into a discussion about other animals that are endangered and why and then a discussion about hunting. He got really upset-not crying but very gesticular, loud, and outraged. I feel bad that I took that little piece of innocence. He's not a sensitive kid by any means but apparently he's like his mom when it comes to animals. It was a bit of a shock and a good reminder to me to work on my delivery of such topics and remember his age.

cagoldi, dreams like that are so horrible. I've had two very vivid dreams lately that involve me having a baby girl that I keep forgetting about. I wake up in a panic that I had a second kid and forgot about them.

flamingo , are both C and B in swimming or just B? Just B at the moment. I had planned to do some with C while B is in camp later in July but I'm starting to rethink. This morning the swim instructor made a point to call me over to see B treading water (like she was really excited/impressed). I was like, "Yes, he can swim the length of our pool unassisted, so..." I don't know how much he's gotten out of this. I was hoping he would get more in the way of strokes. I realize everything builds and you gotta crawl before you can walk, etc. but I think he has just had a lot more practice/experience than his classmates. When we did private lessons last summer his coach was ready to start working on strokes and said we could even sign him up for the club swim team, but we were moving. I kind of wonder if C's will go the same way. She's way past the blowing bubbles/getting wet/putting her face in the water part of the 'mommy and me' lessons I had planned on. She has no problem climbing up and down the ladder, swimming out into the middle of the pool, etc. (she's in a puddle jumper). So I've been considering ditching the Mommy & Me stuff; I'm looking at some other options but I think they'll have to wait til we're back in town at the end of the summer/early fall consistently.

flamingo, I'm surprised they haven't moved him up levels since he is doing so well. I never did the Mommy and me stuff with Cadence, so she is a bit behind, but catching up. I need to be more diligent about taking her to the neighborhood pool so she has more practice than just the 30 minutes a week.

cagoldi. Ugh. That's a the worst. It's so hard to shake too. I had a dream like that a few months ago and couldn't get back to sleep because I was so disturbed. Have fun today. jewels, creepy! When Maddie was a toddler she'd talk for a mile a minute in her room after we put her to bed. She'd tell us she was talking to "the people in the walls." Totally freaked me out. She has gone through the death fascination phase too. flamingo way to go B! Although I get the frustration that he isn't learning anything new. I skipped mommy and me with Cass. I had second kid guilt for a minute then released it. I didn't need to pay for the same stuff I can do with her in the pool.

We finally got some good news on the house. The owners agreed to repairs we asked for. Now if we can just get our house to sell.
We looked at another house last night as a back-up. I'm happy for people to have their house a way that makes them happy--but woof some people like really...interesting styles. So many different colors, floorings, lots of orangey-brown. Light wood, dark wood. It was not my thing. They had a great kitchen, but I didn't like the floorplan. The rooms upstairs felt claustrophobic.
