Baby is still healthy and free from HFM. I really hope it stays this way! DS1 is fine and back at summer school. He had a great day and told us he is a Tiger now. 😂😆 Okay!
We hardly ever eat ice cream here, because it is insanely expensive (and I can’t tolerate lactose anyways), but last night we gave DS1 a hot fudge sundae to celebrate his recovery. Oh boy does he like hot fudge sundaes now. I have a feeling we’ve opened Pandora’s box on that one. 😅

Well, I don't blame him Taitai. Hot fudge sundaes are good! I'm in a weird place where LO has STTN a couple times and I'm already getting used to fewer wake ups. And part of me is scared that if my boobs get used to it my overall supply might take a hit. I'm sure I'll be back here complaining of multiple wake ups asap.

Laying in bed nursing LO. She is almost back to STTN again after the trip to my parents. Today is H’s last day of coaching summer basketball and I couldn’t be more ready for it to end, the idea of being able to leave one or both kids to run errands or get some time to myself is exciting!
I need to call the ENT pedi today to see about the results of DD1’s sleep study. Our hope was to schedule her tonsil removal surgery this summer if she needed it since H and I have off but summer is going by quickly. It could take awhile to track someone down on the phone today though since it’s a big hospital network and we don’t have any contact numbers.

Taitai we have DD1 a taste of a strawberry Sunday a few weeks ago and she is in heaven. She just had some more last night! Dairy doesn’t sit super well with her or I so it’s certain my a sometimes treat for us! CoachTsWife my supply so far has adjusted back and forth as LO sleeps all night and then doesn’t sleep all Night. I seem to have a harder time adjusting to the loss of sleep than my body has to the milk supply and demand cycle.

I’ve always found that my boobs adjust to not making as much milk over night but overall it doesn’t affect my supply. This baby doesn’t eat between 9-5 about 80% of the time. When it’s that other 20%, like 2 nights ago, my boob were up for the task at 12:30. She’s been doing this for a while and I still wake up full needing to nurse right away each morning. Enjoy the sleep without any concerns!!

I slept on my neck funny and it’s really hurt for the past few days. I even took a left norco from her birth last night.
I’m at the point of thinking I’ll never take it for granted when my neck doesn’t hurt again. I need to figure out how to squeeze a massage in!

danvers rebeccabunch I'm mostly worried about supply as it relates to pumping. I struggled to pump enough for DS1, even though he always seemed satisfied when I fed him. It was stressful.

Yea I know that feeling. I had oversupply during the school year but now that we’re on summer break my supply has regulated... and I know that when school starts again I will be short for her bottles each day. It happened with DD1 too. I do find my best session is right after she wakes up, especially if she’s STTN. I’ll start pumping again midJuly to rebuild some of my supply but I know that first pump is not easy to do when you have to get to work, have other littles, etc. Replacing my membranes on my pump helped some too if you haven’t done that in awhile as well!

I wish my kid STTN. We are stuck in this crazy pattern that seems unbreakable. We make excellent strides forward and then reset back to square one. Rinse and repeat... indefinitely.
Example: the other night she slept 7 PM to 5 am. And it was amazing.
2 nights ago: up at 11 PM, 2 am, 4am and day at 6:30.
Last night: up at 9:30, 1:15 am, 3 am, 6:15 and the day at 7:30
It's like we are good, good, good and then the wake up starts. Then it gets earlier and earlier until I have no choice but to let her cry for a half hour. Last night I let her cry herself back to sleep at 9 and 1 because this would just continue if I didnt.
When do I get to stop feeling like shit for making her cry herself to sleep every night

Aww I’m sorry, cythe. It will get better eventually! Maybe I’m a cold bitch but I stopped feeling guilty about crying long ago. They need the sleep, are safe in the crib, and have all their needs met. So I’ve told myself it’s for his own good for me to not pick him up. Sometimes I peek in to make sure a leg isn’t stuck but that’s the extent. *this doesn’t include when he’s sick and pooping himself every hour.

My baby just independently climbed up a flight of stairs 😳 He certainly keeps me on my toes, he is WAY more active and busy than DD ever was! Guess I’m pulling out a baby gate for the bottom of the stairs. We have one at the top of the stairs but never used the other one with DD because our main floor is open floor plan and safe, we just close the door to the mud room where the dog food/water are if we are doing something like cooking while a kid is crawling around.

Not much here. I worked from home yesterday because I was so tired, so the fact that I made it in today is a win.

Solitary cythe. I haven't done any sleep training yet, but I really really need to. I guess since he basically just wakes up long enough to quickly nurse I'm semi ok with it? I miss long stretches of sleep, though.

I miss long stretches of sleep, though. I wish you luck when you decide to sleep train. Unless I'm missing a key component of it, we've sleep trained and I'm still in this mess. So hopefully your kid takes to it better than mine!

We are enjoying our trip so far, MIL is up to her usual shenanigans, kids have fully adjusted to the time change and are enjoying being around their cousins. The baby slept through the night for the first time, it may be a fluke, it may be that I can’t hear her very well in the other room, it’s a win.

Our restroom at work has 5 stalls. I was in there by myself today and I heard someone come in but they didn't go into a stall. They waited for me to exit the stall and then went into the stall I used. Our building is new and all the stalls are of equal quality.

CoachTsWife wait, so she just like, stood there waiting for you? Maybe she figured the seat would be nice and warmed up for her? 😂😬

The crib is the safest place LO can be if you're going to let them cry. Don't beat yourself up, learning to sleep is a PITA. I wish there was some sort of baby monitor smelling invention so you can tell if it's just a normal wake up or if they pooped. Like there's been two times where I've let DS2 keep going but then after a while his cry changes so I'll go in and dammit if he didn't shit. So THEN I feel kinda bad. 🤷♀️

Taitai glad to see everyone is healthy! And sorry about all your money going to ice cream. CoachTsWife over the years I’ve discovered that bathroom habits in the workplace are just plain weird. We had a 2 stall and people would wait for their fav one, both were equally terrible since it was an old building. rebeccabunch Nope, we are just a bit east of the Rockies.

So the housing market here isn’t great and prices are low so I’m looking at potential rental properties to buy. We probably won’t do it but it’s fun to look since we live in suck a HCOL area.

CoachTsWife Oh wow - that’s weird. Maybe the person is OCD and has to use that exact stall? Did you recognize the person? That would be even weirder. August Blooms Enjoy your trip!! ETA - I love fantasy rental home shopping! I do it way too much 😁
