We are planning a trip in September and we just went in January and weren’t thrilled with or food choices so I want to get recommendations. Here’s where we ate last time and our thoughts:
Boathouse dining hall at Port Orleans Riverside- it was pretty good. Nothing special
Be Our Guest MK- this was a quick service and the wait was long despite reservations and the food was not very good.
San Angel Inn Epcot- best meal and will go again
Tusker House-AK. I loved it but Dh was meh. He’s not into things aside from American and Italian food. We also had a long wait despite reservations
Dinosaur in Disney Springs. The food wasn’t great.
DS will be almost 5 and does ok at restaurants but probably nothing fancy. Dh isn’t very food adventurous.
We are staying 5 nights and have one sit down per day.

I thought the Coral Reef restaurant in Epcot was very cool, it's like a big fish tank. The food was decent.
Sci-fi Dine In at Hollywood Studios is awesome.
If you are going to Disney Springs, we just ate at Paddlefish and it was SO GOOD.
We have reservations for November at Tutto Italia in Epcot, it'll be our first time there but it came highly recommended.
Basically everything is terrible at Magic Kingdom, so I'm no help there, but Polynesian, Contemporary and the Grand Floridan are just a monorail ride away and have great places to eat.

I really enjoyed Ohana for dinner. I also love breakfast food and Tusker House and Akershus were my favorites.

Our favorite sit downs with the family are Boma for breakfast or dinner, teppan edo, and chef art smiths.

We went in February, here are my thoughts. MH and I are sort of foodies but don't expect anything amazing at Disney.
We all liked Crystal Palace for lunch. I thought the food tasted great for a buffet and they had some good kid-friendly options. Plus ice cream sundae bar, which my almost 4 year old loved.
Biergarten food was really disappointing, minus the amazing fruit beer I had there. We didn't eat during a show, that might have made it better. My kid (who isn't very picky) ate almost nothing there.
Ohana dinner I ended up canceling but I've heard that's really good and it's on my itinerary for next trip.
The Wave at the Contemporary has delicious food but is kind of boring for kids.
Chef Mickeys breakfast was also delicious and probably my kids favorite meal. Mine too, hello unlimited Mickey waffles!
We did Mickeys Backyard BBQ one night and I enjoyed the bbq food there. We did tier 1 seating and I'd only go back there if we did that again. Totally worth the extra few bucks to get in an hour early.
At Disney Springs we ate at the Boathouse and the Edison, without kids though, and were very happy with both.

My husband is very picky so we are limited on where we can eat. Some of our favorites are Libery Tree Tavern, Be Our Guest dinner (not sure how it will be once the menu changes and it will be 2 credits), 50’s Prime Time, Biergarten, and Garden Grill. We normally stick to quick service at Animal Kingdom because DH won’t try anything else. Flame Tree BBQ is a good quick service option.

We like Mama Melrose at HS - we did the Fantasmic package for lunch, which we liked since we got to go back to our room and rest without fear of missing out on a seat for the show.
We also liked the Howdeedo Review but it was a total PITA to get too.
Between chef Mickey and 1900 Park Fare for buffets, we liked the food at 1900 Park fare better but the characters at chef mickeys better

We focused our dining at mk and Epcot around characters, which was meh. The Yak and Yeti at ak was decent. I don’t think you get any food worth writing home about anywhere. I also think there are no places unsuitable for a five year old.

Ohana for sure, that was my favorite. I heard the Polynesian resorts brunch was good too although I haven’t experienced it. I think it’s called Kona?
I also liked Tusker House a lot, and for a quick service meal I liked Peco Bills in MK - really good tacos, and there was a condiment bar to basically add everything you wanted to them.

The dinner show at the Polynesian was delicious and lots of fun. The character breakfast there is great too.
The restaurants in Mexico and China at Epcot were also really good.
The buffet dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge was fabulous.
The Disney Planner that we used made recommendations and reservations for us and all of them were great.

My favorite meal was Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Kidani Village but that probably won't work for your h.
DS's favorite was lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK.
Loved HoopDeeDoo at Fort Wilderness.
I also liked the food at 50s Prime Time in Hollywood Studios.
We didn't do any table service meals at Epcot but we tried to eat quick service or a snack in every country. Fish and chips from the shop in UK was our favorite.
Oh, I also loved the Plaza at MK.

I’m probably the outlier here but I always just do the quick service at Disney. It’s not great but either are any of the restaurants I’ve tried so 🤷🏻♀️

I really like Ohana and Boma for dinner at resorts. All of the food at the MK is so-so, but we've had repeated luck with the fast casual at Pinocchio Village Haus (Italian, fast casual). Also, Dole Whips for snacks.
In Epcot, the Rose and Crown is my fav, but I enjoy most options there. We went to dinner at the Biergarten buffet during our last visit and really enjoyed the food and show. You are seated at a large table w/ other families, which not everyone enjoys.
At Disney Springs, I particularly like Raglan Road. Irish dancing, Guinness, and pub food for the win.

The Hoop-Dee-Doo Review is fun all-you-can eat fried chicken and ribs, but you have to plan about 3 hours to get there a bit early and for the show.

Apparently Canada at Epcot has a really good steak house. Boma at AKL was excellent but YH might not like it.
La Hacienda San Angelo at Mexico in Epcot was great, plus it’s waterside and you get to watch the fireworks if you time it right

I don’t know if this is for Disneyland or Disneyworld, but maybe they have the same options at both? I’ve only been to Disneyland. My suggestions would be the Blue Bayou (the restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean ride), which is a bit fancier & so yummy, & on the other end of the spectrum I recommend the Goofy’s Kitchen breakfast buffet. It’s really fun for kids & nice to have lots of food options since it’s buffet.

La Hacienda in Epcot was already mentioned, so +1 for it being delicious. We had an awesome dinner there.
We ate at Tony's Pizzaria in MK. It was OK. Overpriced. Just mass produced Italian.
We did Kona Cafe at the Polynesian for breakfast. It was really good and had some different meals I wouldn't usually order.
The Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs has an outside dining area with a separate name. I can't think of it now, but it was really good food, kid friendly, and had a great view of the water.
Bongos in Disney springs had great Cuban food. Delicious meats and fancy drinks. It's owned by Gloria Estefan.

Our favourites are: Boma at AKL for breakfast. ‘Ohana at the Poly for dinner (breakfast has characters and the food is pretty good, but their supper menu is way better) - Kona also has pretty good food at the Poly, too. Get the stuffed French toast for breakfast. As mentioned, I’d skip the sit downs at MK right now and hop to one of the monorail resorts. Worth it. Haven’t been to Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge in a few trips, but our last time eating there was very good. 50’s Prime Time Cafe at HS is our favourite sit down, we much prefer it to Sci-Fi. We did the character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno (Boardwalk) on our last trip and were impressed. Le Cellier at Epcot is a must on every trip. The kids really like Garden Grill as well.

Epcot - our faves are Le Cellier, anything in Italy, and San Angel. Or just hop around and get a little from everywhere.
Animal Kingdom - Tiffins, Yak & Yeti
Hollywood - the Brown Derby is $$$ but good. Sci-Fi isn’t bad for burgers & shakes.
MK - We always just do quick service here. I would try to get out to a resort instead.

#1 = Ohana - DH said if we go back he wants to eat there every night. Convenient monorail ride from MK, great food, and kids enjoyed the coconut races.
Hoop Dee Do dinner show at the Wilderness - a bit pricey but we really enjoyed the show, includes beer/wine, and food was good, especially the dessert.
Garden Grill - pre-opening breakfast. With this one I liked that you're seated at a half-circle booth that feels kind of private vs. being in the chaos of a buffet. They serve you a family style breakfast and each character stops by. The restaurant rotates and isn't anything exciting but was a nice relaxing breakfast before the craziness of the day. We did the pre-opening breakfast and were able to get on Soarin (right next door) before the park opened (well, DH and DD did, DS got too nervous - did you know they give you a fast pass to come back if you puke in the entrance?
Biergarten Restaurant - Might depend on your tastes but my kids enjoyed the buffet and the entertainment. San Angel Inn - I thought the food was good, but felt more crowded in at this restaurant than others for some reason. Sci Fi - DH liked it but I wasn't a big fan. (but cannot give an unbiased review since I may have still been nauseous from Star Tours and/or exhausted as it was the first day of travel and I made a ridiculously late reservation). Kids liked it, other than being zombie like because they were so tired.
Oh, and all of these restaurants were booked based on recs from here - I don't regret a single one of them but if going back I'd for sure book Ohana and Garden Grill again - the first for the food and second for location. I too wasn't that impressed with Be Our Guest - I mean, it's something to see, but it kind of felt like a fancy cafeteria to me. At Magic Kingdom we liked Pecos Bill for lunch and the cinnamon roll from Gaston's Tavern for breakfast.

You know I have lots of Disney Opinions.
Brown Derby was really nice. It was kind of a break from park-ness.
There’s a BBQ quick service in AK we liked. I mobile ordered and swung by and picked it up after a ride.
Le Cellier was prob the only meal where the food was actually good and not just good for Disney.
If you can get a reso at Cinderella’s Castle, C1 really liked it. It’s cute for kids. The food is just fine though.
I have to go to Sci-Fi every trip. It’s my favorite.
My favorite character meal is either Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey, just because they’re easy. Food is decent and kids love it.

Yes! Mobile ordering is so bomb and no one does it. My mom took a picture of the giant line and me at the pickup counter laughing at them. I don’t love a lot of the quick service stuff. It’s a lot of junk food. But the BBQ stuff was pretty decent.

I like Flame Tree BBQ at AK and Sci Fi Drive In at HS. I had a salad with salmon that was excellent at Sci Fi.
Also love Raglan Road at DS.

We went in January. I’m vegetarian, H is not. This was our 4th Disney trip together and we definitely don’t go for the food- we find most of it mediocre. Pics aren’t great but our favorite sit down was AK Yak and Yeti. Veggie low mein. Sorry blurry Bacon wrapped shrimp, H’s favorite. We did San Angel Inn and my meal was good, it was a bunch of veggies over flavorful black beans and tortillas. H can’t remember what he had. He wasn’t impressed. Counter service - I liked Cosmic Rays at MK. I got the falafel burger and I would recommend. H says his (regular) burger was decent. Falafel burger: My favorite snack was at AK, sriracha fries.

+whatever to mobile ordering whenever possible. Even some of the snack places - Aloha Isle for sure offered it. There are enough lines at Disney without waiting in food lines!
