Good luck with swim tonight RunsforWineandCarbs. Wrangling one kid is hard enough. I can only imagine two at a pool must be tough!

I am swamped at work (what's new lol) but I wanted to put the world cup on in the background. Now my computer is updating so that is annoying!! I have to make a plan for the week before it gets away on me lol. Meals, gift organization, yardwork, cleaning. I need a life manager lol because this one (me) is not currently working out

I'm hoping DS1 is finally getting this potty thing. He pooped on the potty Sunday and peed on it twice at daycare yesterday. I'm glad for some progress

Pre nap has gone well. I hope we can have a chill afternoon. I have out watercolors, painting book, tracing book, and play doh, so hopefully that can tide us over until H gets home 😂

What a crazy day today was! I organize a lecture series, which is primarily for our summer students but we open it up to the public. An audience member (from outside the program) started yelling at our lecturer (a Pulitzer Prize winning writer) bc she didn’t like that he was reading his original writing as part of his talk. She would not stop, and I had to get security and eventually the police in order to get her out of the building. I’ve never experienced anything like that before!

Today will be day 3 back to work. The band aid is off. Sometimes the anticipation is worse than the actual event.
We're doing okay. H has been bringing the kids to my office over lunch which helps because I work long hours. I think it also helps with milk supply to nurse in the middle of the day during the transition.
I think it is going to take a bit to get into a rhythm with this transition.

barely survived swimming last night. i think the hardest part is trying to get 2 kids dried and dressed plus myself in a tiny changing room with clothes sticking to everyone and the kids constantly trying to unlock the door and open it when i am butt naked. or when c starts in on the boobie / penis talk....mommy why are your boobies wet? cause i was swimming with you buddy. mommy, i want to touch your boobies. no buddy, those are mommies. mommy, look at my penis, look! look at it! it moves...gee buddy, that's neat, please pull your pull ups back up....
hears snickers from the rooms next door and people walking by.......

Every muscle in my body hurts. I still am not feeling 100% but with some Motrin and sudafed, I am feeling better.
I am enjoying this maternity leave so much more and I really wish I could take 6 months instead of just 3. I know I am lucky to be able to take that much off and have it paid, but I am dreading going back.
That is only because she is so little. I’m sure once she was older like her brother, I’d be dying to go back. That SAHM life ain’t for me. I know my limits lol.

RunsforWineandCarbs are you in a family locker room or women’s????. If women’s I change out in the open and don’t care who see what. It allows Ethan to roam around the locker room. He usually hides in the lockers. If a family locker room I screw changing and throw a cover up dress over myselfmand change at home.

coconutbacon , i wonder why she was so offended. What was he speaking on? Is it wrong I want to say yea for a bit of afternoon drama!! lol. I bet it was stressful at the time, but it sure does make your day more interesting. It was Hilton Als. He was not even speaking on anything remotely controversial. It was pretty academic/ arts related (because it was for an arts lecture series.) He was drawing a connection between the works of Diane Arbus and Alice Neel– as they were both (single) mothers, and both did portraiture (photography and painting respectively), and then reading a piece he had written about being raised by his own single mother. She was upset that he was reading some of his original writing, and not lecturing off the cuff. But... he's a writer. And everyone else was really enjoying it and that's what we expected and were there to hear. So bizarre, but you're right– it did make for a good story!

That sounds stressful RunsforWineandCarbs. It was bad enough taking DS1 to swim with the baby in tow and I didn't have to get in. We moved the baby to the crib last week and so far sleep is much better. I'm glad work isn't too bad shellyr. The hardest part for me is daycare pick ups and drop offs. I actually enjoy the adult interaction.

Bummer! I can’t imagine trying not changing for two kids in a small area like that. I’d be tempted to say wear your suit home and change there. Some parents do that at out swim lessons. They just have those kid sit on a towel

Busy. 😒 Work has been crazy since mid-April and then they have me training someone. All is well here, though I have had to keep Kaylee home today and yesterday. Thinking just something viral. Hoping to try and jump in again!

They just have those kid sit on a towel I do this when it’s warm, since I am just going to take a shower when I get home from the pool anyway.

coconutbacon, we had the banza Mac and cheese tonight and it was a hit! 4 out of 4 enjoyed it! Yay! It’s really good! Going to have to search for this original discussion. My kids have a fit if it doesn't come from a blue box with powdered cheese sauce.
