I just found some Cheryl’s cookies in the freezer!!! My aunt sent them for Valentine’s Day but since I had GD, I had to save them. Best thing to happen to me all week! Me in front of the freezer.

Great timing on the cookies, because I’m standing in line outside of the lab for my pp 2 hour GTT. And there are no less than 15 people (all over the age of 60) in line behind me. I got here 20 min early because I know the elders are always banging down the door to get their blood drawn first thing in the morning. But don’t you even dare try to cut the line because I have a baby to feed in 2 hours.

So um...sorry TMI... ...but my kid hasn’t pooped for FOUR days. He usually goes 2-3 times per day. We gave him some prune juice today in the PM but so far nothing. We’ve also massaged, done bicycles kicks, etc. He is definitely uncomfortable. I mean he hasn’t stopped screaming for about two days. Any other tips??? When do I start getting worried (more than I already am)? DS2 has only been pooping once a week for most of his life. And it’s usually on Wednesday 🤷♀️

That’s frustrating. And it’s a vicious cycle - no sleep probably leads to more exhaustion which just increases the terrible moods. I feel like we went through a phase where DS1 went through this too. We started by working on naps - we gave him something to distract him when he went for naps. So we started letting him take books to “read” until he got sleepy. He’s loved it. Also my ILs just gave this toy flashlight to DS1 - he loves it and takes it to bed with him. It lets him play until he is tired and also gives him light (in addition to a night light). We have also talked to him about shadows and how cool they are so he will play with the shadows in his room. Maybe it would help? www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Flashlight-Easy-Grip-Handle/dp/B01AD1TDNU?keywords=flashlight+toyWe were wondering if we could let her sleep with a flashlight. We only have adult ones. Maybe I should get that for her and see if it works. We are at a loss. The dark is too dark but nightlights make scary shadows. We watched Peter Pan (he loses his shadow at the beginning) and talked about what shadows are. And then we do shadow puppets with the flashlight. He thinks they are hilarious. I think the flashlight helps too because they can point it at scary stuff to see what it is as compared to a night light that is stationary. I’m sorry. Trying to figure out toddlers’ irrational fears is frustrating. Hope she gets over it quickly!

DS1 was saying that he found the dark scary. We have no idea where this ce from and my sister and I spent a lot of our time tricky or treating talking about how the dark is not scary but fun. She also bought him a book called What's Under The Bed Ted. It comes with a flashlight. Maybe that would be good.
DS1 has never actually needed a night light though and I don't think he is scared of the dark but his room isn't really all that dark. My sister will just buy him anything so I can't say whether it will actually help with being scared of the dark.
There is also a book by Chris Hatfield (the Canadian astronaut) called The Darkest Dark but itay not be sold in the US.

Why do moms on Facebook groups find it necessary to post photos of their kids poop? I get you want to figure out if something is normal but... no.

We upgraded our phones last night and I ended up going with the X. It’s been a little strange to get used to but so far I really like it! I’ll be on the hunt for a case this morning and then we have a 1st birthday party to go to😊

So I’m about to leave the baby with my husband with a bottle and be gone for a couple hours. I’ve only been gone from her for maybe an hour and a half and we haven’t tried the bottle yet. I’m just straight throwing MH under the bus and running away 😂 wish him luck.

I am seriously wanting to run away and hide. My husband went on a camping trip with his guy friends all weekend and left me with both of the kids. As soon as he gets home I think I’m going to throw both kids at him and run. The 4 year old has been a monster all weekend.

It’s ok to feed DD1 the chicken soup everyday for lunch? She asks for it, eats every drop, and it takes 5 minutes to get ready. I add extra veggies (I keep a bag of frozen veggies just for this) and sometimes throw in leftovers (pasta, chicken, roasted veggies, rice, Rice’s cauliflower, etc). I should just appreciate that this is super easy and buy the soup in bulk?

Lol there's a mom at the park literally following her 4 year old around and spoon feeding him. I can't. Why do people do that?

I guess so? I’m got added to one that started as a local group and then slowly grew. I have seen at least 2 pictures of dirty diapers with the mom asking if the colour/texture was normal. Just no...

Yet she eats cereal with lots of milk. 🤷♀️

So if it works, go with it! I’d give my right arm for my kid to eat half of this. DS2 will be better right? I keep telling myself there is hope for the second kid to not be a picky eater.

Leaf 🌱 totally. My son eats more or less the same thing for lunch every day because it's easy, healthy and he likes it. We mix up dinner but lunches are more routine in our house because they're packed and that's totally ok imo!

So I mentioned that I had an appt with the allergy specialist to get testing done a couple weeks back. I missed that appt but have another one today. Not looking forward to it, but I'm really hoping the shots will improve my quality of life.

Haha everyone is right. This is a silly thing to worry about. I think I’m just having guilt about her watinf canned food all the time 😂 And I think, to some extent, food is like sleep. The best advice I ever got from a BTDT parent is that you can’t force your kid to eat or sleep.... and I’m going to add pee/poop to that list too. These are literally all they have control over and even if you do everything “right” they can simply choose not to eat/sleep/poop. DD1 is the worst sleeper. I tried everything. I finally just had to let her grow out of it. No adult only eats chicken nuggets and pop tarts. No adult screams climbs into their parent’s bed. Etc. etc. We care, we try, we’re good parents. That’s all I’ve got at the end of the day 😂

And glad to hear they worked for you ArielMermaid. The appt went well, just long. They were very "wow your allergies are so bad" and I have to chuckle, like, I know!
