fierymama, there are also those apps that you can use where you upload a picture of yourself and try out different styles.

Do you want to go short like that cut because you want short hair or is change the motivation? I'm sure my on point Pinterest skills could find a style for long hair that you could try out if that's what you want Right now, I'm irritated with the length because it is getting caught all the time. In one of the chairs, the cats walk on it, if I'm laying down either it gets caught when I'm trying to roll over or one of the kids lays on it. I am motivated for something different as well, but if I can find a longer style that is easy to maintain, or style, I'd be all for that too. In the Summer I do a lot of air dry time and then flat iron it if I want to wear it down more or make it look nice. You could do a long version of the pic you posted. So getting some texture, long layers and side bangs. Something mid length: Can you braid? Braids are my go to for the summer - long or short hair bc it keeps my frizz at bay.

45thparallel I can do a ponytail braid and that is about it. Maybe I should watch some YouTube videos to learn how to braid shorter styles. That first one I really like!

The thing about all these haircuts is all the models have such pretty waves. How do you achieve those waves? If I let my hair air dry it is wavy, but it definitely doesn't look like that! I have to blow out and straighten my hair for it to look presentable. Also, I can't do hair so that is the only option I have.

You tube taught me how to braid. I'll look and see if I can find the videos I used to watch. It was a while ago. It's easier on myself but it's also benefitting DD poof

librarylady During the week I always do the air dry, I'll blow dry if I know I'm going somewhere or on the weekends. I'm sure I can do some waves like that with my flat iron, or by a curling iron, but time.

Also, I like the cut they gave Nicky (OITNB), but I can't/don't want the shorter bangs!

45thparallel, so pretty! I will be for sure using youtube so I can learn how to do A's hair in the future. You know those classes that they give to dad's to teach them how to do their daughter's hair? Yeah, I need those.

There's a Pinterest hack I've seen a few youtubers use. Take a sport head band and wrap your wet hair around it. Sleep on it. In the morning use dry shampoo or texturizer and add some smoothed flat iron waves near the top to pull it together. Like this:

Youtube hair tutorials are my next stop on this train. I have good hair for wave since it is naturally wavey/curly and I can just do the top nicely. But I always wonder what librarylady said because no matter if I use a flat iron or curling iron, it does not look like that. Lol I get a very 70s look every time.

I'm getting my hair did on Thursday and I'll basically tell her to make this happen. I already had a similar cut, just need a trim and going to put blonde back in. I tried rocking my natural color, but I'm bored with it. Plus, grey hair...

jedi, just reading about some kid being mean to your Ds is giving me anxiety. Playground politics are rough. Ava hasn't had any horrible experiences yet and I think she is too young to understand when kids are mean to her, but I definitely understand and feel rage. I have to tame my inner mama bear often on the playground. This is really the first time I can remember it ever being this bad.

I get the waves by showering at night, scrunching while it airbdries, and using a curling iron in the morning. I leave the curls in long enough to cool, then pull my fingers through them.

I have yet to master the perfect wave... but what I do is curl my hair with. Straightener and then spray with salt spray... let it dry, brush it a bit and then fix any areas that need it, then hair spray. I get something kinda similar. It's not a quick process.

While I'm crowdsourcing... does anyone have a compact, travel size air compressor they like? I bought one a while ago and it never worked. Something to blow up a small air mattress.

I've watched so many YouTube videos trying to learn how to French braid and it always turns out a mess. I understand the concept, I just get lost in all the hair. My stepsister is a hair stylist and will be teaching me next time she visits. With 3 girls I feel like this is must. This is where I'm at. I know how to do it but my hands won't participate correctly haha.
