I almost always want some type of sauce. I didn't eat red meat for a long time and I am learning to like it again, but I need something with it. I also prefer it med-well. :Ducks and runs: While I don’t like sauce I do prefer mine medium well. I can’t handle eating meat that looks raw.

I used to eat steak all the time.
Back then it was medium rare to rare. No sauce. But I wasn’t above eating a bite of filet and creamed spinach at the same time.

I’m not sure why it has to be one or the other. I can go either way, but mostly I don’t sauce. To me, steak is all about the seasonings. With good seasoning, I almost never crave a sauce.
My dad makes the best steak ever. Perfectly seasoned every time. And the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland. That was the first time I ever ate filet mignon, & OMG.

I'm with others, steak doesn't need sauce but sometimes it really takes an already amazing tasting piece of meat to a whole other level.
Also, I prefer my steaks rare. I don't recall ever ordering anything above medium rare.

I want to love all steak, but anything medium or less tastes like blood to me. I want to taste beefy, not bloody. And one time, I was at an Argentinian steakhouse and the waiter blasted me for ordering my steak medium well and I did not tip him. Let that be a lesson. You understand that in the butchering process, blood is removed, right? The "blood" you see is myoglobin. I don’t care what it is, steak nerd. I don’t like the taste of blood. Just bc it’s myoglobin doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste like blood. I can almost picture the hard on you got from correcting me.

Agree that a good steak doesn't need sauce. But herb butter, demi glace, bernaise, or chimicurri are just flavor enhancers. And nice to dip your frites in.

I’m honestly not a big steak eater. I go to a nice steakhouse a few times a year and eat steak then. That’s really the only time. I order a sauce, an app, 600 sides, a bottle of wine and dessert. So, I’m going with sauce because the only time I eat steak, I’m literally ordering everything on the menu, including sauce.

I grew up eating steak with A1 sauce. Only when I got older did I stop and now don’t like sauce. But I also know I eat my steak well done which most people hate so there is that.

😂 at how most Jamaican eat steaks. Y’all would dieeeeeee We eat it covered in sauc/gravy. So imagine a steak. Cooked well done. Then we cook down In a gravy. This is how I would like to eat steak from now on.

I like sauce and no sauce, though I don't eat steak often. And always medium rare. Mh prefers a spicy or stone ground mustard with his steak.

I love a med-rare steak au poivre.
Peter Luger’s steak sauce is amazing on everything.
Will also eat well-done with ketchup or Heinz 57.

I love Jamaican steak I love grilled steak I live cast iron skillet steak If you give me a little ramekin of sauce I'm not against that either.
As long as it's medium and seasoned I'm there.
