Tonight DS2 was watching his kindle and yelled "I am not your Oomi friend." He takes his cartoons v seriously.

I have a glass of wine and a yummy salad. I am sneaking a couple bites of H's pasta as well. The kids were easier today and I am relieved.

Someone adult for me
I have had very specific foot pain in one foot for the last six weeks or so. It seems obvious it isn't getting better on its own. I have a physical in two weeks. Should I wait for the physical? Or go to urgent care and get it xrayed? Or... do I need to see a podiatrist? I feel so old.

So, I cried at DD’s last day with her preK teacher yesterday.

I went to the kitchen for my nightly ice cream and came out with half a watermelon and a shaker of salt. Cravings are so weird. As soon as I saw the watermelon the ice cream didn’t even sound good anymore.

So for those that have two or more kids, what happens if you go into labor in the middle of the night? That is my worry. Like we have people on standby-do you wait for them to come to the house or do you bring your kid (who is sleeping) to the hospital? I so wish we had a scheduled birth. Lol. I realized at 11:30 pm that my contractions weren't going away with sleep so I called my mom crying that I was going to have a birthday baby. It took her 90 minutes to get there. We had time to make it to the hospital, check in, and get me an epidural before my water exploded and the baby came flying out at 4:50am. Unless you have a history of precipitous labor, you should be fine with having someone come to you.

All of our childcare was out of town so we took dd1 with us when I started labor with Ds at 3am. She hung out in my room or the nurses' lounge when I was being checked or drugged up. We finally got a hold of a random work friend of DH's around 8/9am who took her back to our place until my mom, who had been driving through the night from Ohio, arrived around 2pm. If she has to come with you, she won't be the first kid to be on a delivery floor and if she does have a strict med schedule, there's no one better to hang with her than a bunch of nurses. But I still hope tonight is completely uneventful for you.

I seriously don't know how they do it. We got home at 4:30. In the 2 hours before bath/bedtime started my children have destroyed the entire house. And it wasn't even a full 2 hours, because part of the time they were eating dinner.

It was about an hour after My water breaking before my mom and sister got here to watch DS. We were about 15 minutes from the hospital. The contractions were not too painful at that point and I was 3 cm when I got there. If the pain was worse or contractions closer together, we planned to take DS to the hospital until someone could get there. It absolutely wouldn’t have been ideal but there wasn’t much else we could’ve done.

My 2 year old was saying Mommy is old so I tried to teach him to say Daddy is the oldest and he ended up saying Mommy is the biggest. 😑 Talk about a backfire. Lol. My kid has been saying that I'm first the worst and she is second the best. Rude.

I’d go straight to a podiatrist if you don’t need a referral and if you can get in soon. I don’t think I would want to wait two weeks with foot pain, so urgent care otherwise.

H ordered dinner. I have no idea how he did this, but he ordered enough Chinese for so many people. Noodles, fried rice, 3 appetizers and 3 main dishes for 2 of us. It will get eaten for lunches for the next few days and not wasted but this would feed 5 people two meals with the portions and he ordered it for the two of us.

I would pay good money for this fucking Underworld movie to never play ever again. I hate this movie so much and DH thinks it's the greatest thing ever.

That's how I used to order before we had more takeout options too. If it didn't have the fried rice and the noodles it wouldn't be so much food. I'm not complaining, it's just funny since he isn't sure how he did it either.

Does he space them out? If it makes you feel better MH has developed a liking for Hee Haw. I really wish he would watch something like Underworld.

"I'm feeding three people. What would constitute enough food for eight people? Ok I will take two of that. Thank you so much. Goodbye." I need to enjoy my leftovers for a minimum of two days.

I had to publicly chase, tackle, and wrestle my toddler this evening before carrying him screaming from the playground in 95 degree heat, so there was definitely wine tonight.

We had to schedule a tympanoplasty for DS2 today. I would've rather waited until the tube came out on its own, but on the other hand, it'll be nice to have the same ENT do it (which won't happen if we waited another month). DS2 is three and will have had anesthesia more times than the rest of combined. I can offer hugs and an ‘I feel you.’ My DS2 had his third ear procedure on Monday and the dr made it sound like it won’t be his last. It’s heartbreaking as a mom.

It carries no strings, and, in fact, comes with a complementary "repeat shitshow" judgment-free wine glass to be used at a later date, without warning or judgment.

Toddlers should come with wine subscriptions or at least chocolate. They are not nearly the fun you think they will be before you have one of your own.

I had a list of people on standby. Thankfully both our families live within 10 minutes (including numerous siblings and aunts who all would have come/taken them) However as it happened, I was induced with all 3 kids, so I never did have to worry about that. I did enjoy that aspect of being 12 days overdue and being induced each time.

I'm also having potential MOTN labor anxiety, fancynewbeesly. Our plan is to have my FIL come over or our neighbor friend but of course there's always the chance that we'll just have to bring him with us to the hospital.
