Are stick types the way to go for applying on squirmy kid's faces? Yes. We like the Baby Bum from Target. It's a mineral sunscreen and meets DS's derm's criteria (zinc oxide and SPF 30+). I've been looking at those! Do you use the stick everywhere? Or just on the face and regular cream everywhere else? I saw that they also have a face stick - Sun Bum, not Baby Bum, but I read that you don't really need to use kid/baby-specific sunscreen - and wondered what the difference was.

We use the stick on his face and lotion on everything else. There was a Baby Bum stick in the baby aisle at our store. Not sure if there's a big difference in that and the regular. Aveeno Baby lotion and stick also have a similar ingredient list, and it's the sunscreen we sent to daycare and grandmas' houses.

Another vote for thinksport and thinkbaby. But depending on your natural coloring, any sunscreen is safer than no sunscreen (unless you are a coral reef - that's a different issue)
