I am exhausted. Driving back and forth to Pittsburgh was so tiring yesterday. J did great in the way up. He sat in his carseat for 1 hour then slept 1.5 hours. He was a good man while we were there. He did well with most people and saw my 98 year old aunt who loves him so much and isn't doing well. The ride home was a disaster. J was good for 45 minutes then bawled for 45 minutes. We stopped twice and couldn't get him to stop crying. It was awful. Then he finally fell asleep for 45 minutes until we got home. I'm exhausted.

Sorry king26. That is the worst when they won't stop crying in the car. I feel like they just reach a limit of car time and then it's all downhill from there. Ds1 was so bad yesterday being mean to his Daddy that I took away all screen time for the rest of the day at 10:30AM. I was like, "what have I done???!" but it actually wasn't that bad. He played with his toys and made me think I should take away all screen time more regularly.

Sorry the car ride back was rough king26. I hate car crying more than anything else because it’s so tight and no escaping it. Glad the trip overall went well!

We finally bought our second vehicle after selling MHs truck over a month ago. Being a one car family is hard!
I went into the nursery this am and could smell that A pooped, so I decided to change him before feeding him first. Well, he didn’t like that a screamed the entire time. Not the way I wanted to start my day. Now I have a raging headache and he’s been pissed ever since.

king26 ooof. That sucks. I cannot deal with a screaming kid in the car. I get SO anxious and panicky. I think it’s residual “ptsd” from when he was little and would scream whenever I put him in the car seat - to the point I wouldn’t even leave the house bc I couldn’t deal with his crying alone in the car. So, 45 min of that- omg I’m sorry. I’m glad the trip went well otherwise. @easilyunamused omg I’m so happy for you that you have a car now. I can’t imagine how exhausting that was for you to be stranded on his work days. muscari I’m responding to you here instead of in the last thread 😬 N is doing the same thing- he STTN til 5am and then he wouldn’t let me put him down so we just slept together on his futon. I’d bring him to bed but he flails around a lot and always hits DH in the face and dh hates it so I stay in his room w him and we snuggle. I half love it bc of the snuggles but I also don’t want him to get used to it. I think he is though- yesterday he woke up at 5am for dh (I worked nights) and he ate and went back into his crib. This morning I tried several times to put him back in his crib and he screamed his head off every time. 🤷🏻♀️ I think dh needs to do the early wake ups lol but he thinks I need to be firm. 🙄 so idk. I’ll keep on snuggling him bc we slept for another 2.5 hours! Yes please! I’m not ready to start my day at 5am

addymac, I get super anxious too when A cries in the car. There have been times it’s been just me driving and he’ll scream for 45 mins straight. I lost my mind a couple times and swore I would never get in the car with him again. 😢

Congrats on the new car! @easilyunamused! I can't imagine being a 1 car household. You must be pumped!! So pumped! Honestly, I do not know how people have only one car. And it’s so spacious! We drive hour plus at least 3 times a month, so it’s awesome.

@starzia good luck! I crazy overpacked for my first two plane trips with N. Then for the last one I did it pretty well. I did amazon diapers and baby food to the place though, instead of packing them, which was super helpful to save space. Can you do that? Are you staying in a hotel or at family’s?

@starzia good luck! How long is the ride? DH wants us to go somewhere but after the bad car ride I don't want too. I wouldn't worry about a high chair. I often just keep j on my lap at restaurants and it's no big deal. Or we shuffle him back and forth .

addymac I did think offering things to the house too late though. Staying at his grandparents house. Going in with the mindset that there are stores there and not to go crazy king26 4 hours and 30 minutes one way. Driving is 19 hours. So much better to fly Prime now!!

Car crying is the most painful thing I have been through! I would not wish it on anyone.
I am in the thick of my dig and by the time I get home I just want a shower and bed but my kids have other plans. I have started bringing J into bed because neither of us can get him to relax enough to fall back asleep otherwise. We are both working on field projects now and I think have gone into survival mode...

yellowcat you have to do what you have to do! I slept on the floor with j Saturday night because it's the only way we would both slerp. It isn't ideal but you do what you can. @starzia I hope the flight goes wrll. Definitely better than a 19 hour drive. I would die. We have a 4 hour drive coming up next month and I'm not looking forward to it. Only good thing is it'll be 4 hours one day, we will be there 2 nights then 4 hours home so I think if we stop halfway both days we can get him to nap in the car most of the way which will help.

30 days left of the 7th leap. It’s not so bad...yet. Thereis only a 3 leaps left. Also our babies are 40 weeks on the outside (well the August ones) I hear that’s called an inside out day We are “leaping” together because mine is 30 left too....I really can’t believe how fast the time has gone. The newborn days feel like a million years ago. Some days I definitely get a twinge knowing I’ll never have another tiny squish to cuddle again.

I can’t stand babies crying in the car. R hasn’t cried in the car. But, I used to turn the white noise on my phone for T and put it by her car seat or we’d blast it through the speakers. When she got older, she’d FaceTime my mom when she’d be tired and crying in the car.
R started standing in her crib yesterday. She’d done it randomly a few times a few weeks ago, but not she’s popping up all the time. It’s probably why she took long naps this weekend- figuring that shit out.

Welp, I guess I totally missed the 40 week thing. Whoops!
@starzia, good luck! We brought diapers with us on the plane but then just bought some when we got to our destination. We didn’t want too many suitcases and I wasn’t about to give up that much space for something we could by there. I know what you mean about the wedding. Everyone wants to coo over the baby, but you’re the one doing all the work and then everyone disappears to have fun. Hopefully you’ll have a good time.

We have 5 days left of this leap, and it wasn’t as hard as some of the others. But the last few days A was been a crying, clinging mess and my nerves are shot. I had errands to run yesterday and I gave it up because he wouldn’t stop crying in the car. 😩
He’s been crying all morning too, is already passing out while nursing even tho he’s only been up 90 mins. Idk if it’s teething, the leap, or what. But I need a break.

I'm so irritated. My new partner at work met me for 5 minutes and is being a jerk. She says I'm too business like and we aren't going to get along. She cares about kids more than paperwork and I dont. What???? Girl...im the warmest, fuzziest damn teacher in the building!!!! Plus she told the old teacher she doesn't want people comparing us...well I've been in this job 14 years. You ate the 7th person in 7 years...im the constant!

I will be the featured cook for the one July 2nd! king26- did another of your recipes’ tonight and I loved it!
