I’m a global mod. What is happening? From what I understand, the infant board wants to merge with toddlers since the boards are both slow and the infants are starting to age out of infancy. Okay. Let me see what I can do.

piratecat DS hasn’t moved up yet, but I was told they have to wear shoes for fire safety? They even nap in their shoes (ew). DS is turning 13 months old tomorrow 😭 He took 4 steps tonight!

That sounds about right. Toddlers walk out while babies are wheeled out in an evacuation crib. And yes, they sleep in their shoes

I can't get DD to sleep past 5:56. She would ideally sleep until 6:30, but even sleeping until 6 would be fine. Today she was up at 5:20. It's just late enough that she won't go back to sleep, but she is tired and clingy and whiny the rest of the morning.
Mostly just a whine. She has blinds and blackout curtains on her window, but I think I need to put tinfoil on the window itself to cut down the light more.

I think that's our daycare's policy too but I'm not gonna worry about it until he can actually walk out of the building on his own. But yea napping in shoes is gross and seems it would be uncomfortable. I think I'm going to get him a pair of "indoor shoes" that would be comfortable-ish to sleep in that he only wears at daycare. ETA: 4 steps!!!!

I thought J was waking up around 6 or earlier for the day but when I let him fuss for a few minutes he fell back asleep until 7ish. After a little while of doing that he now more often than not sleeps until 7ish (after a snooze feed around 5).

DS does that 5:30 bullshit. And he's suddenly realized he can sit up in his crib. So he sits up and wakes himself up even more and just whines and whines. When he stayed laying down, he would put himself back to sleep. Little turd.

We've had a few rough days/nights. Well he apparently is fine at daycare. Dinner time has been really dicey and nights are brutal. At least one wake-up crying hysterically, takes forever to calm him down and get him to fall back asleep. I am really hoping it's a tooth and that it's over soon.

She probably needs to a drop a nap, but we're in a weird spot with that. She's exhausted by 9am and her attitude turns unbearable at 10am. If we drive anywhere after 8:30/9am she will fall asleep. We try to keep the morning nap very short (like 20 minutes) because if we let her sleep longer, she won't take the second nap (also a sign of needing to drop the nap). The mom we nanny share with is pretty adamant about keeping the girls on a 2 nap schedule, but she knows the girls need to make the shift soon. I should try the 1 nap schedule this weekend, see if it makes a difference, and then push the other mom about shifting to 1 nap if it does.

DD starts being unreasonable around about 5pm, which is right when we get home. That continues until she goes to sleep, and then we start again in the morning. We did cut the middle-of-the-night crying with a sippy cup of water left in her crib. But then she bangs it on the crib sides when she wakes up at 5:45, so try that at your own risk lol

J has recently been doing this thing where sleeps for 2+ hours in the morning (he also gets very tired by 10AM) and he'll still go down for his afternoon nap most days but only for half hour or so. I don't mind this new schedule because it is kind of nice having that long chunk of time in the morning to get stuff done. If you let her sleep longer in the morning, can she make it through the rest of the day without her second nap? Maybe an earlier bedtime for a little while to transition?

I don't have one that won't leak. He does not like 360 cups, though I keep trying.

MIL used to put a cup on a stool next to DH's crib, so he could pick it up when he needed a drink. But that still relies on him putting it back every time to keep it from spilling.

I suppose DS2 is techinically a toddler since he's walking but I'm not ready to say I have two toddlers.
Although DS1 turns 3 in July so I suppose he could be a preschooler. This is srs bsns.

G still isn't walking, he's 13 months . Like he doesn't really try. He does edge walk everything and will walk if his hands are held. Please someone talk me down. The girls all walked at 12 months. People are giving me funny looks when I say he doesn't walk.

People are giving me funny looks when I say he doesn't walk. J is 12.5 months and has negative interest in walking. We’ll try to help him walk and he fusses and refuses to put weight on his legs and collapses dramatically. I don’t see him anywhere close to walking in two weeks, even while holding our hands.

lildiamondeyes DS just turned 13 months old and only recently started trying to take steps on his own. He was the same way with crawling...like he wanted to be absolutely sure about it before trying. Right around his birthday, he had started going from sitting to standing independently. The pediatrician said that walking would come in the few weeks after that.

Our pedi starts to get concerned when they hit 15 months; until then, I wouldn’t worry.

I've met a bunch of kiddos who haven't walked until 14/15 months. Somehow I think I would prefer a late walker than an 8-9 month old walker. But I know there's stress either way.
