When I took DD to the library today I found the movie Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken in the children's section. I haven't seen it in YEARS so I had to rent it. I showed this to my kids a few months ago and they loved it! They also want a horse now. So. I will hold off until my mom’s H is ready for a horse (they have enough property and he’s an equine vet tech). Maybe I’ll drop them and the movie off at the same time. 😬

I made a play date today. With a family from swim lessons. This is not within my comfort zone. So I’ll have a few martinis and obsess about it. Good for you! I’m sure it will be fine.

...dinner at Barnes & Noble? the one near me renovated recently. I had salmon and tabolueh and Chardonnay. It was very good. Wine at Barnes & Noble? Interesting.

If y'all haven't listened to Leon Bridges' new album, do it now. Agree. It’s lovely.

We went to the Cajun place for dinner and waited 30 minutes for a table but there were still 7 tables ahead of us, so we leaved our and ended up at an Irish pub. Wish I would have gotten drunk there, but now I’m too full.
But everyone else in the house is asleep and I plan to do nothing and talk to no one while not being touched!

I was too. I love them now. I still love physical books and I have a bunch, but it's great to just get them instantly. I have so many books that sit in storage. Only my favorites are on a shelf in the office. I can't completely give them up, but they take up space. And I download books from the library that I already own. I read while lying down a lot & it's easier. Propping up a book, messing with a book light. I can't be bothered. My children don’t bat an eye if I have my phone, but a paper book means immediate poop or head injury. I know it’s not the best for my eyes, but I’m 43 books deep this year already and made it through 81 last year. Majority of them are from the library, because I’m still cheap, but I’m defiantly not above paying for one if it’s not available. When we moved here, I got rid of almost a truck full of books. Now I have a box set of Harry Potter (which I also have digitally), most of John Irving and a handful of things I’ve enjoyed. I just don’t buy books anymore. We don’t have the space and I’m not really going to read them.

Just had all of the fire trucks drive by with sirens blaring, horns beeping, for what seemed like an eternity as I anxiously watched the baby monitor. It’s a small miracle that he is still asleep since all of our windows are open.

Dd1 and I made some smores bars and I have some concerns about them. They are still fairly raw even after the 30min baking time.

My friend's family are compulsive shoppers and technically hoarders. They have things well organized/stacked with a loft and a shed. Books and DVDs and also VHSes are one of their big things in tall bookcases. I never see them reading a book or even watching one of the probably 500+ DVDs. They always just watch tv. It's insane. No one will ever have time to read and watch all that shit.

I have moved on to rosè. We cut 7 inches off DD’s hair today and she can’t stop looking in the mirror. It’s hilarious. She looks so adorable with the shorter hair!

It’s not the greatest cut, but with her wave/curl when it’s short, it turned out pretty cute. If only DS would let me shave the other side of his head. 🙄

I probably went through a huge amount this year already. It's like the # of my amazon orders, I kinda don't want to know my total:)

I’m finally in a place that I’m able to put some books back. I’ve been doing both the popsugar and bookriot challenges this year and have a personal goal of 100. I’m on pace for all and am trying to read the “hardest” ones first so I can read some fluff over the summer and winter. I’ve also been working more and so have been able to listen to books on my drive and through the first hour of opening, which has really helped my count.

I need to sign up for the library's summer reading program. The kids went in to sign up b/c they get a free color changing pencil. I'll do mine online. I think I get a library travel mug at completion. We have to write a short review for each book though and I'm terrible at those.

I’m in hell.
I had such a busy day and came home to a house full of family so we could go out to dinner for H’s birthday. My MIL took that moment to confront her mother, whom she hates about a bunch of crap. Then she turned it around on H and BIL. I came down from putting on my makeup to this. I was this close to kicking her out.
So, now we are at dinner and I’m not drinking. So, hell.

Have you guys listened to Levar Burton’s podcast? He reads short stories geared towards adults. It’s pretty great.
