Congratulations AmyG ! Extra cost sounds annoying but the rest is awesome. yes, it's awesome. Every time we do the math we end up with $1000-1500 more in fees.

thatgolfb I love(d) that show. I lost interest awhile ago (mostly because I just never seem to have time to watch a whole episode). But I’ve been meaning to start back up again

AmyG congrats to him! DH and I both did honors college (at different schools) and we both enjoyed it. I'm not sure if he's that excited about it. He has to take Honor's English and some Honor's Liberal studies classes, even though he's already showing otherwise complete with all the liberal studies and English that he has to take but one class, which isn't offered as an honor's class. At the higher level there is Honor's level Physics research and Maths that he will love though.
Today he was at the college again for orientation on his own and decided to change his major to declare a dual major Physics and Mathematics, and maybe a minor in Astronomy.

That sucks if you didn't budget that amount in your calculations. I'm sure the experience and being where he needs to be will be worth it once you find that money in your budget. Will your food and gas or electricity go down enough with him gone to pay for it?

No drinking for me tonight. I have a shit ton of grading to do. Grades are due Friday. The grading is not a big deal, but all the student complaints are exhausting. I hate being Department Chair.

Don't worry, guys. The drinking threads will pick up again when I'm no longer pregnant. I'm only slightly worried you'll be no longer pregnant before me 😬

I don't usually play here, but I'm bored... Baby is in bed (early b/c she is refusing to sleep at daycare) and I just spent longer than I care to admit to calculate price per bottle for different formulas, with and without coupons. The good news is that everything turned out cheaper than I thought, but this stuff is still expensive.
Also, we only have one more day in May, please don't burn down the forum. I can't make another switch...

I just remembered I have a co op preschool meeting tomorrow. So help me if those women decide to share their anecdotes of how JUST THEIR child reacted to school and they keep me late I am losing it. No one cares REBECCA if your kid needed a snack in the car after 3 hours in school. I may show up here in a bad mood if the meeting goes late for the not part of the agenda comments. I do not promise not to burn a forum if it goes past 9. Are you in charge of the meeting? I have to say I really appreciate a task master in these scenarios. Stick to the agenda, get in get out.

Sadly I am not for this one. They post a clear agenda and several parents feel like everyone wants to hear their feelings off of the agenda timeline. I will be sitting next to the people running the meeting since I can't take these comments during a meeting where you can ask To add to the adjenda.

Like maybe enough to pay for his $400 parking pass maybe. lol.
The costs are likely to go up even more, as the AZ Board of Regents haven't approved the final price changes for things like dorms, so we are running on unapproved estimates for a lot of things. They did approve the raise in tuition price in April to be effective August.
This would be easier if we weren't still paying hospital bills from dh's heart attack and hospital stays. And let's not talk about how the porch needs a new roof...

I think I could feed him for less than $2110 a semester. but since he's a freshman living in a dorm, he has to have a meal plan and that's the cheapest one for a semester, with only 10 meals a week.

Don't worry, guys. The drinking threads will pick up again when I'm no longer pregnant. I'm only slightly worried you'll be no longer pregnant before me 😬 My doctor did tell me today that I’m free to go into labor anytime 😀. I’m still rooting for you to go first.

I’m here and slightly drunk. I nailed interview #2 today and then talked to a BFF who lives halfway across the country for almost three hours, so feeling pretty good.

You guys, I had my 2nd interview today and it was basically them selling ME on the position rather than me selling myself to them. They told me to expect an offer letter THIS WEEK. Holy shit. Woohoo!! That's awesome!

I’m here. SO has been fully embracing that SAH life during the week, but really needs to balance SOME housework. Dude. The kids are having a great time, but they will also have an awesome time for an hour without you being directly involved in play. I know they can, because it’s the only way you have clean clothes and food to eat all week. I’m drinking cider while the kids are pj ninjas and SO watches news. MH is a teacher & will be home with DD all summer. I worry that this will be him as well. Same situation, but with two toddler boys. I have high anxiety about all of it that I need to release. Our boys aren't old enough to really play unsupervised for an extended period of time, but they do generally go to bed early so we can do daily things at night. But... hoo boy. It's going to be party all the time.
