flamingo thanks! That sticker thing you linked looked awesome for both kids! S will be happy to just have his ipad so I'm really only concerned with keeping B busy. All he does at home is wander around the house picking up toys for 2 seconds then wandering around again. I just can't picture him sitting for an extended period of time, but we shall see!! Sorry, I meant B when I posted!...I think I was getting your B and mine confused as to age-order, haha. |

dapostrophe Yikes, this woman is...something else. Just flat-out not appropriate. I can't imagine saying something like that even to really good friends, let alone colleagues. Glad your H was in agreement. eta1: I'm trying to picture the other coworkers' faces when reading that text. Can you imagine? eta2: maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but darn, I could see someone like that making one too many comments along those lines and really damaging your husband or another male colleague's reputation and/or career, intentionally or not. If that was my H, I think I would advise him to give her a very, very wide berth.

Thanks dapostrophe! I'm sure you'll have your hands full! The wedding is August 19 at Promontory Point. Not sure if you know where that is? There are 2 different hotels so I'm not sure yet where we'll be staying but I'll let you know when I book. Looks like we might be free Saturday during the day if you're around for a possible meetup? I was going to ask you what would be fun for the boys while in town for such a short trip - most likely flying in Friday mid day, flying out Monday - hoping to do something fun for the kids (zoo, kids museum etc) Saturday day as we don't have to be anywhere till dinner time. Are you in Chicago proper or are you in the burbs? I know exactly where that is, we almost got married there! I live in the burbs now, but my mom has a house in Chicago that I go to frequently while she's in Spain, so it would'nt be a problem. Send me a PM when you have details and maybe we can put something together! |

Well, in the latest installment of As Flamingo's Living Room Turns... I had emailed the designer at the furniture store re: the missing table. Just heard back that its expected ship date is now 6/11. Even though when I look online it says it shipped 5/14. Argh. Yes, this is a total FWP, but I'm annoyed. I was really hoping to have this room finished by the time my ILs visit for Father's Day weekend (yay.) but that is looking like it won't happen. Plus I'll have been waiting 12 weeks for two stupid tables.

dapostrophe I've been thinking about what she texted and the 2 hour sexual harassment class I had to take for work. That would so not fly on a group work text here. I hope your H says something to her or someone to make sure that's he's not brought down with that if anyone complains to HR.

You just can't mess around with sexual harassment stuff. And she's at the same level as him, this was not some young underling. She should know better. |

The car is washed. Now they are cleaning the inside. Because I let my child eat in the car there is a lot of work for them to do. My car has 3 people working on it and all the other cars just have 1. I feel bad. I brought lots of money to tip.

Darn. With all the activity I thought a baby was making it's arrival. Something tells me this is more disappointing for dapostrophe than me though so I'll survive.  And whoa to that text dapostrophe . I'd actually recommend your H get on it ahead of time and report it to his boss or HR as an FYI so nothing comes back to him or other teammates later. She sounds like a nut. sands42 glad to hear the update. Sounds like you're on top of everything for the move. How nice to already have a connection with the neighbors! tgrimes I agree with going to a specialist. I think you've maxed out the abilities of the generalist and need a specialist. Good luck. jewels team shuttle. You've got this with travel. Do you have a sit and stand? Sometimes it's nice to keep them both contained or at least use a easy fold umbrella stroller and gate check it. I would skip the car seat on the plane because that's a lot to lug around. Don't do the kids board early thing because that's just more time trying to contain. Snacks are always a huge motivator for my kids. In addition to the other toys mentioned, Silly Putty has limited mess and very entertaining. These writing boards are always a hit with my kids. Definitely do a bathroom trip before the flight but if necessary, I have played human Tetris in those bathrooms with my kids. I think they enjoy it as it's like a challenge to them. Mh had sexual harassment training yesterday and the teacher said that 50+yo men are the highest demographic of reported harassment. Apparently going women think they have money and power and come on to them

We have a bunch of these. S will play with them for a few minutes. But I'm really not worried about him. It's really for B (who will turn 2 that week). Going based on his personality now, he has no attention span for anything!! |

Thanks inthekitty! I do have a sit and stand, but I think I will bring the umbrella stroller instead as it's much smaller and easier to maneuver. S is really good and holding onto it when we are out so I am not too worried about keeping him contained. And I have never flown with a car seat, I'm definitely not starting now! That doodle thing looks pretty cool! |

jewels as long as you don’t have to pee, you should be fine. T went in an airplane bathroom alone last summer and I just stood outside with the door slightly open so I could see him (bathroom was in the back of the plane). I was pregnant and not about to try to squeeze in. I went to my sisters this morning to return the baby stuff I borrowed like the swing and the rock n play. It was a little sad. My big boy leaves on a 3 day school trip tomorrow. Slow down time! We now know why the dishwasher doesn’t work, the electrical is all burned up so that could have ended much worse. Also, the sidewalk contractor hit DH’s car and denied it yesterday so I’m dealing with them.
