aprilz81 I agree it's a bit early to cast a decision on them in 2 days but definitely use your mommy senses if something feels off. Make sure to speak up and ask questions. When I was a FTM I sat back while my daycare complained about my son and random stuff I didn't particularly like but I shrugged it off for months before I had enough. I wish I would have told them how I really felt and asked those questions.

aprilz81 we come home with stuff that isn’t ours too so I think that stuff just happens at Daycare. We are new to full time daycare too so are learning as we go. In regards to formula. Most daycares follow guidelines by the book to protect themselves so would throw out any formula that has touched a baby’s lips but was not finished since there is only a one hour window. At the church 1/2 day daycare we used to send a big bottle with no nipple on it for them to use to pour into smaller bottles so that saved us from wasting a bunch of formula. The daycare we use now has a rule that they can’t make the bottle so we just send the low end of what she normally drinks. Also her first week there she didn’t drink her usual amount but after that week is back up to normal.

I know the can says to toss formula not consumed within 1 hour of starting feeding, but if she barely touches it I just put it back in the fridge. I sent a note this morning asking them to give her more time to finish a bottle before throwing it out, sometimes she is a slow eater (especially if distracted) or will take an ounce and then finish it off in an hour or so. Maybe that will help. I know daycare employees are likely underpaid for what they are expected to do and the importance of what they do. I need to adjust my expectations between the one on one/two on one care she gets here or with family versus a group environment with more kids and fewer caregivers. I don't think she is being neglected, they just aren't doing what I would do.

Yeah, aprilz81, some things probably have to do with regulations, like sarahh said. I'm sure they have to toss the formula once the bottle is used. And they are probably also not allowed to put a blanket or anything else in the crib/sleep space with her for naps. I think mix-ups will probably happen with stuff, the best thing you can do is make sure everything is labeled! Communication is best in these situations, don't be afraid to ask why they are doing stuff! For the bib for instance, maybe it got so wet during the day, they took it off. So maybe they would like you to send another one or something. I had issues with our first day care too but found it was much less stressful for me when I talked to them right away about something I didn't like/understand.

A little delayed....thanks for your response on how many baths your LO gets. J gets one almost every other day. Sometimes he will go every 3 day. We don't go longer than that because he starts getting smelly!
