Yesterday was dance recital day for DD1 & 2. They did great, especially DD2, she killed it. But man, being a dance mom (while dealing with a non bottle taking baby) is stressful! Ha. Sorry to my mother for not giving her enough credit when I was younger. We’re headed off on our yearly vacation to my parents beach house, along with the tropical storm. I’m so bummed. I’m sure we’ll still have a good time, but there is rain forecasted 6 of the 7 days we’ll have there. Hoping that we still get some good beach time. I’ve got way too many cute swimsuits for the girls. 😬😬 #firstworldproblems

I'm up doing my morning pump. He's hoping I don't drop this one! We only had to use one frozen yesterday so really it wasn't a disaster.
It's supposed to be 97 here today. We were working on repainting our garage but F that in that kind of heat.

My mom defrosted a bag of milk but the baby didn’t drink it. Anyone know how long it’s good for? I remember nothing. 24 hours! Thank you! H used it to feed her when she woke at 5:15 so I could sleep until I naturally woke up which was... 6:05. But, I feel rested!

The weather is crazy here for end of May... highs in the 90s for the next few days. I can handle heat - humidity is what really sucks!!!

We use badger bug spray for DS1 and I. I’m actually looking to see what I can do about a tick repellent as we had to take DS1 to the urgent care to get a tick removed yesterday.
Yesterday we had gorgeous weather and hung out at my parents and DS1 had a sleepover. Today H, DS2 and I are shopping. We’ve already spent too much at target.

TTMA bug spray... what are you guys using on the babies? I used the babyganics on DD1 and hated how oily it is. What’s ok to use on them? I just got rocked by mosquitos and am really hoping the baby is fine I am not a crunchy person at all and I eyeroll at most essential oils but lemon eucalyptus oil is actually proven by the CDC to be a great mosquito repellent. I know that doesn't help the oily part but it smells better than most repellents so I don't mind the mess! I don't remember the brand name but I found some at Target. Also the mosquitoes here have been fucking awful. DH and I usually sit out on the porch after the kids go to bed but I have been boycotting it because I am still itching week old mosquito bites. thanks ill look into that! I was hoping someone would have some sort of “crunchy” solution I’m not a super crunchy person either, but when it comes to my babies, the more natural the better!!

I have a hangover from all the wine. Eeeeeeep How was the limo pumping? How was the wine? It was good!!! I car pumped to and from and used the manual in the limo. I'm not sure if I need to check the limo milk for alcohol? I was never DRUNK. The wine was amazing. It was so nice to not be a parent and just be with my friends. IG repeat if I've found you there but this was our view at the third winery. Amazing. ❤️🍷❤️

MHs bday party was today! I bought him skydiving tickets. 🙈🙈🙈
Family shenanigans tomorrow. I'm really glad I'm so busy this weekend because it's keeping my mind off going back to work.

Hi! I am here. We have had a busy day. The baby turned 5 mo today but I forgot to take his pic. Oops! Lol second child problems. MH and I are watching Thor: Ragnarok right now and relaxing. I was going to do more cross stitch but I think I’m too tired.

I bought some Repel brand bug spray that is lemon eucalyptus based. I hope that's safe enough. DS1 is having a minor reason to bites this year (they are quarter to half dollar swollen) so I need to find something that works because my boys love being outside.

We just got back from Maine. It was a tortuous ride home with tons of traffic and a screaming baby, but we had fun! DH and I got to go out for the first time since having the baby, we spent $200 on dinner but it was so nice to be out without kids. We are going to make more of an effort to do it more often. Before baby we had a date night every week so it was a big adjustment.
On another note, baby is not taking the bottle well. She took two ounces for my mom while we were gone, but my mom said it was horrible and she acted like she was hurting her. So we have to start giving her a bottle every day, and I will have to pump more which I am not looking forward to. Hopefully she’ll get used to it, or we might have to change bottles etc.

On the bottle business... have your mom try giving it to her sitting in her bouncy seat or car seat. H does this too with the bottle if MH or MIL tries to cradle her in their arms to feed her. Something about it being too close to the nursing position, where it makes her think she’s getting the comfortable warm boob but instead gets a firm plastic nipple. It pisses her off. My MIL said the same thing that she would scream as if they were hurting her. But for some reason, she takes the bottle with zero issue if she’s sitting in her car seat.

Ugh. Tomorrow is my first day back at work. Gag me. Hugs. You’ve done it before and got through it so at least the unknown is gone. The first couple weeks are always hard no matter what. I don’t know what your job is like, but I always enjoy the accomplishment of completing something outside of a nap transfer and getting back in the swing of things in general. Keep these things mind tomorrow. ❤️

Well it has not been a great day in the amesie house. H is teething so hard today. She has been so awful. So grump. So much fussing. She’s normally so happy and content when she’s awake. NOT TODAY. I need these other teeth to pop like now.
Then I fell down the stairs... luckily I was by myself and not holding the baby. But I slid down the entire flight and killed my foot. I thought I might have broken something in my foot earlier but now I’m sure I didn’t. Probably just a soft tissue injury of some sort. But I had to call out of work ugh! We really could’ve used that money. It was holiday pay and evening differential pay so I missed out on some good $$$. Damnit.
I’m ready for a new day tomorrow. I hope to god I’m not too sore and that the baby is better 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Baby turned 5 mo yesterday. I can’t believe it. And she got her 4 mo shots on Friday since when we actually had her 4 mo appt she had an ear infection. She is now 16lbs 3 oz and falling down on the growth curve so instead of 90% she’s now 79% which is more in line with how DD1 was. Here is an outtake from her 5 mo pics And a side by side with DD1s pic

Is this bug spray OK for babies? I think any bug spray is probably fine. You most likely would want to avoid anything with DEET on an infant, unless you are in a place where you have to worry about Zika/West Nile/shitloads of mosquito bites, in which case you may want to weigh the risks and benefits. My family has a cabin in the Boundary Waters and when we are up there I choose to use DEET on my kids regardless of age because the mosquitoes are vicious. 🤷 no judgement here!

Guys! T rolled back to belly today for the first time! She’s 3.5 months! I wish I could remember when DD1 did. C is consistently rolling back to belly and sleeping on his belly now which is so crazy to me because DS1 couldn’t roll back to belly until 6.5/7 months!
