Ok so the more I think about what DH's mom said, the more upset I get. Here are some options of what I could do:
a. have DH talk to her about it b. let it go
It was really hurtful but she probably doesn't realize that it was. We only see her 1 or 2 times per year so is it worth bringing it up and potentially souring our trip this weekend? I keep going back and forth.

sarahh I would have DH discuss it. It was uncalled for.

Wow sarahh I am so sorry someone said that to you. That is such a punch in the gut right when you need it the least!!! I would not have reacted nicely to that. I have zero filter when I'm KU. ETA I would have H say something to her certainly. That was so uncalled for and she needs to know that her words are hurting people. Maybe it'll make her think twice before saying something that stupid and hurtful to someone in the future

Looks like we're back. (Insert side eye) Wife got my favorite pizza for dinner. I think I'll keep her. Our almost 2 year old ate 2 entire slices and then a fruit pouch.

I'm sorry sarahh, I would definitely have my H say something if it happened to me. Pregnancy hormones have been known to make me ragey so it would just be better if he said it. Although I think you have every right to say something yourself. That is an extremely insensitive and callous thing to say and she should be called out for it. At the very least be made aware of the damage statements like that can cause. Either way *hugs* Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks all! I told H he needs to say something. You're right - at he very least maybe she will think before she says things that can be potentially hurtful.

I woke up from a nap this afternoon and was really confused. Especially since in the dream I was about to eat delicious food.

Because I am a stomach sleeper, I am uncomfortable when I sleep already. The pressure is awful. I just stuck a pillow under my crotch to elevate it and take some of the pressure Off of my stomach. It's actually working.

I have been so sick, I have lost 5+ lbs over the last week. 2.0 better be growing so freaking strong.
And DD is starting to go around telling complete strangers "my tummy hurt like mommy tummy" and "mommy sick earlier". And pretend throwing up. Thanks, kid.

Right now fine.
I had no early symptoms with my first, except being tired. I am not one of those that can definitely tell they are pregnant. lol.
Right now until I get my 8 week ultrasound, i am at an estimate 5w3d.
DH told my MIL already and I am hoping to tell my parents this weekend--mostly because we are going to need childcare for appointments, etc---and I can't think of a ton of excuses of why all of a sudden I need to go to the doctor a lot.

So we told my parents and DH's parents and sisters last night. No one on DH's side has a history of loss so they (really just his mom and dad) don't really get what to say and what not to say. DH's mom said "so we aren't going to lose this one right?" I hope not but thanks for planting PGAL thoughts back in my head. I am going to see her this weekend for the first time in a year and am not sure I can act normal after that. Lovely. Last time, my MIL said like, "well let's not get too excited yet" and she kind of pretends I'm not pregnant. Haven't told her this time yet. Probably not until after milestone.

meladorie, I can't believe the things that come out of people's mouths. Do they not think before they speak? My mom has said some hurtful things as well so maybe it's just that generation?

sarahh I really do think our parents' generation has no idea how to talk about it. It's like they just have no idea. When I miscarried several years ago (an unplanned pregnancy) FIL said to H "Well I guess you guys will be more careful next time." ...wut.

bassa, it has to be that. The last MC I had, my mom said "maybe next time you won't test so early." I was almost 9 weeks. Luckily I had my sister who has a history of losses too to vent to.

sarahh Oh my gosh, my mom said almost the exact same thing about my sister. "Tests are so sensitive these days. She probably wouldn't have even known she was pregnant if it were back in my time." Like...should we go back to waiting for a telegram from the doctor as well?

My doctor got me in for an early ultrasound because I have been spotting. I actually measured a week earlier so was only 6 weeks instead of 7. They did see the gestational sac and yolk sac. The fetal pole was there but with everything being so small they did not see a heartbeat. My doctor then did a physical and checked my cervix which was thankfully closed. I'm feeeling a bit more calm after that but still anxious. Oddly enough I feel like yesterday I got hit with so much nausea and extreme exhaustion. Both suck but I'll gladly take them at this point

maddisonrose that's definitely a step in the right direction! It's so hard when it's too early to see a heartbeat.

Guys... last night I felt about 8 months pregnant. The bloat was unreal. DS was napping on my lap and I had to unbutton and zip my jeans. I just couldn't. It's too early to use a belly band, isn't it?!

We went to Disney today to visit one of my oldest friends who was in town! I know I'm supposed to relax and we didn't do anything crazy, it was just a lot of walking. aaaand now I'm exhausted.
