vino I just remembered you were in my dream last night. But you were super young and living with, I guess, your parents? It wasn't really clear, but you were living with some adults. I went to visit you and your kids in Canada, but I was surprised that it was only like an hour away (I'm not sure where in Canada you live, but no part is anywhere close to 1 hour away - at best I'm 6-8 hours away from the closest border). Anyway, when I woke up I remembered lots more of the dream but now it's foggy. Although I can clearly picture the house you were in. And the 2 car garage for some odd reason.

Wow tallb, it's crazy that kids this age think and behave like that! Poor J, what an awful thing to say!

tallb that's is a scary and rough situation to be in. We dealt with something similar in Jan/Feb and are still sort of dealing with it. Hopefully your school handles it better.

We shall see but I just pulled up the handbook and there's a no gun play section, so hopefully they will be proactive. I'll probably talk to the director after the teachers tonight. I'm mostly judging the hell out of these parents, kids don't learn about it by accident at this age and he's an only, so not like older siblings are involved.

Hi ladies. Today is Pentecost, National day off. So since Dh was off, I went to breakfast with a friend. This afternoon we took the kids to a museum where they had an exhibit about ds tv heroes, pat and mat, two clumsy diy neighbors. It was really cute! I bought fish for tonight, but really wasn’t feeling it, so I’m making saté. Can’t wait!

When I first brought it up the director was "yeah it's been a problem and I'm trying to fix it". Then the Florida shooting happened the next week and I went back and said I would hate for the little boy to do something like that. Then the director ended up doing something. I also talked with LO and said that when another kid starts playing or talking about guns or things like that to just say "I'm not okay playing that" and walk away. The mom of the little boy hates me but LO has been doing well.

I just went to carters to pickup and order that was shipped there and there was a lady who was trying to return things without a receipt and that she bought on clearance. I felt so bad for the cashier.

tgrimes According to Mh, they are both fine. I think M’s rash itches a little, so we’re just trying to keep him from scratching. Everything came back negative, so no meds for me. Boo. It’s good news, but I feel like it’s only a matter of time. If I don’t get strep it will be a miracle. M hacked on me twice Saturday and we shared a straw since he first started acting weird, so we’ll see.

It’s overcast and cool here today. Since I was so busy this weekend I’ve enjoyed being lazy this morning. I need to run to the garden center today to finish getting the flowers for my front pots. I got some yesterday but the store I went to didn’t have everything I want. We will do that after the girls get up from nap. Tonight after DH gets home from work I will go to work.

FX you can avoid getting strep, lahdeedah. Sorry about your H's cousin, mwhip. Hope they can keep him comfortable. Happy birthday to A, mamabear!

Happy birthday to A, mamabear !! tallb Yeah, that's definitely crossing a line and then some. Hope the school nips it in the bud and the little ringleader can be contained until he 'graduates'. eta: We've been lucky not to be on the receiving end of anything like that, but one of my friends here has a 4 y.o. daughter who's already dealing with some of the "mean girl" behavior--luckily no one threatening to blow her up(!) but just the typical "we don't want to play with you, you're not our friend" nonsense. Typical for the age, I guess, but it just sucks to have to deal with it. It's also hard when the other parent is a friend, like in your case and in my friend's.

We've probably talked about this here before, but do any of y'all ever experience "phantom kicks" ? I remember having them after B was born but before I got pregnant with C, and lo and behold, they're back. For like the last day or so, super consistent. So, so weird.
If I end up on "I didn't Know I Was Pregnant", I guess you heard it here first...

When we were at the arcade yesterday Cadence kept trying to play the shooting games. I told her we don't play gun games because guns are not toys. She quickly pointed out that you can in fact buy toy guns. I said, well, we don't. Not a good answer, but I didn't know what else to say. We then said guns are for grown ups, like police men and she was better satisfied with that answer.

This is what we say; Whenever we drive on base the MP's are armed and B always points this out and asks about them, so that's pretty easy for him to grasp. I really think the interest in guns is somewhat typical for this age. We don't have gun toys and B doesn't watch any shows with that kind of thing, but he's mentioned them enough that I know he picks up bits and pieces at school. I can't really control what other families do or what kids talk about at school so we just do our best to educate our kids about "what we do/don't do in our family". We have also had the conversation about what to do if you ever see/find a gun somewhere, and will continue to reinforce that.

Typical for the age, I guess, but it just sucks to have to deal with it. It's also hard when the other parent is a friend, like in your case and in my friend's. We have had a bit of this. As I mentioned, S moved into a new class mid-year and a little boy in the class (who he knew and was friends with before from after-care when they combine anyway) was telling him "You don't belong here" and "You're too little, you're the littlest one in here!" (He's the shortest boy, but not by a lot, and definitely not the shortest when you add in the girls). Anyway, I was telling his BFF's mom who I am friendly with and she said that her son had the same issues but worse, with that boy calling him stupid and telling him he lived in a tiny house (weird insult for a 4 year old), etc. I want to let the boys work it out themselves, but it's hard to hear your kid being so sad!!

LOL I haven't had them, but for the past few weeks my boobs have been tingling like they used to when it had been too long since I fed or pumped. I stopped breastfeeding in October, and had been down to 1 or 2 times per day for months before then. I hadn't had that feeling since before I stopped pumping, which was in July!!

So this kids dad is in the DoD and so I think that is somewhat where he gets exposure to this, but that's not an excuse - you being a great example of setting boundaries and being responsible parents.
