Check in quickly. We have drinks and apps at an speakeasy bar tonight and I think we're supposed to be done relatively early, so as long as I don't get lured to the hotel bar afterwards, I should be fine. I have only 1 session left to present tomorrow and I'll be ready to catch my train home. I can't wait to see the boys, though it's been nice to sleep so soundly!!

wineallthetime, feel better. Adult strep sucks. tgrimes you look gorg as always! I am a pretty clean person I think and I sweep 1-2 times a week- basically as needed. Cleaning person comes bi weekly and sweeps, vacuums, mops the hardwood. Adult strep is terrible! I have to give myself a big pep talk each time I have to swallow.

My friend is selling make up and wants to do some before and afters so I volunteered for tomorrow night. I also lined up a baby sitter so we could have a date night. My FIL was supposed to watch them and now has the stomach flu.. Now I'll have super fancy make up to sit at home.... Frack. My mom is working, my dad is fishing and that's the end of the list for people I let watch my kids. I really need to try some others and just have faith that my children won't drive them to insanity..

And what drives me nuts is I watch my brother's kids all the time. At least one evening a week for a few hours while SIL does school work for her 12th degree and he does work outside. But I don't feel comfortable asking them to watch mine.

WWN13 do? So we are not religious, like my 10 year old thought Jesus started with a G. One of my best friends at work is Catholic and I tease her that if she's right and there is a heaven, I'm in for a pleasant surprise but if I'm right and there's not, then it doesn't even matter because her dead self will not know. Today, I got a package from another woman we work with who may have been present at one such conversation. It's some sort of CD with a note from her that Jesus reached out to her on Easter to reach out to me. Am I suppose to thank her or something? I'm not offended by it at all. When people say they will pray for me, I thank them because even though it's not my thing, I get that to them it represents doing something nice. I am not going back to work until September 2019 but this woman is hosting a retirement party for other people next month that I plan to attend so I will see her. Any suggestions on this? Do I send her a note, call her, or just ignore it?

kim22, I'd probably send a text/email saying something like, "Hey, I just wanted to let you know I got the package. Thanks for thinking of me!" And leave it at that. If she sends more or keeps reaching out about it I'd be more direct that it's not your thing.

Oxyclean is my go-to...it got formula stains out of some of MY baby stuff, 30 years later! I use the powder kind, just dissolve some in warm water and soak the collar (usually an hour or so will do it), then wash as usual.

joelies sounds like it's been a good week, enjoy your last night "off"! peachsmama Do you not feel comfortable asking SIL to reciprocate with babysitting b/c of the issues with the dog bite, or for some other reason? Somewhat related...Do you have any companies in your area (like SitterCity or similar, but local) that screen sitters? We got our go-to sitter's name from a neighbor, but I use a sitting service as back-up, or for daytime stuff like today. I will say, I was kind of in your shoes when we lived in FL--I had 3 family members at my beck and call and it spoiled me...people were fighting over watching my kids I've had to branch out up here and utilize 'strangers', but my kids have done great and it's so important to DH and I to get out together. It's gets easier the more you do it, and M is old enough now that he could report back if anything happened that was not OK.

Somewhat that and they just don't handle their 2 very well and I doubt they could manage all 4. We don't. I need to ask around and get someone lined up for instances like you said. I think I worry to much about my kids being difficult for other people but if I'm paying them- I guess they'll deal lol.

So our talk at Home Depot seemed to go well. The manager was not surprised when I told her I had emailed corporate, so my guess is they already reached out to her. She understood our requests and said we will hear back from her in a few days, after she speaks to the contractor.
We will see why happens, but I feel better knowing we voiced our concerns and someone is looking into them.

mwhip if you don't hear back by Monday, follow up with her. If she doesn't respond let corporate know.

Long day. H had fun at her last day of school. The teachers appreciated the flower pots I made them. We went to my sister’s house after my nephew’s K graduation and stayed probably a little too long. My sister dyed a strip of H’s hair pink, she’s been asking since like February to get it done. It’s cute. Bedtime was late and I still hear S talking on the monitor (which we still use re: yesterday’s conversation. The girls share a room though). I hope she sleeps in, although I doubt it’ll happen.
