Good morning! Last day of teacher appreciation week so bringing in the treats for the teachers. We are also dropping off his registration for next school year. We are skipping the summer program. They raised tuition this year so I'm a little sad about that. C and I are going to go see Black Panther and do so more work around the house.

Leaving around noon today (probably a little earlier than that). I'm just here at work for the breakfast tacos. Cadence came to my bed at 6 this morning, 15 minutes before my alarm. I contemplated just taking the whole day off, but I left some documents here that I needed. She fell back to sleep almost immediately and then yelled, "Don't forget your water bottle! Bye!" Then she sat up completely and flopped back down to lay on top of my face. So, I decided to just go ahead and get up. She was still asleep when I left.
I have my first allergy shot today. Let's hope I don't have to try out this new epipen thing.
What's up with you guys? Anything fun on the agenda?

chrisy01 , what is he going to do for the summer? Our summer fee is an extra $85. It's more than the school age children and they actually go on field trips. They better have some cool shit planned for the pre-ker's to be making us pay so much extra.

chrisy01, what is he going to do for the summer? My parents will be here through 4th of July. Then he will go to daycare 3 days a week with 2 of his friends. So he will have fun. The other two days I plan on trying to manage both kids to get use to it. But if that doesn't work we can add more daycare days.

@klomgoria for the summer program we would pay a $55 registration fee plus almost $500 a month for 3 days. But if I want to add a day because of whatever I have to pay $50 and they are closed a lot of days. So it didn't seem financially like a good idea.
We have him signed up for swim lessons plus have some activities lined up as well.

They are raking in the dough with the school age kids, let the people who are there year round have a break! Like, "hey, you were here all year, you don't have to pay the registration fee". It really sucks because they want summer fee this coming week and 2 weeks ago we had to give the the fall registration fee for next year. I'm not made of money!

I can't believe how much they raised the rate this year too. They mentioned they hadn't raised the rate in 3 years but it's still ridiculous. Plus this year they are requiring preschool parents to do service hours. This is he first year they require it.

Either yard work, fund raising events or things like that.

GM. At work, but looking forward to the food trucks at lunch. My coworker and I agree going to walk out and get some food.
My ILs arrived last night but had some stuff to do this morning so I still took the kids to DC. Mh is picking them up and noon tho and they’re all spending the day together w the ILs. Thankfully part of this includes shopping for all the food we need tmrw for the Mother’s Day/B’s recital after party that I’m hosting.

Yeah, I've heard of this with charter schools but at the preschool/daycare level I find that a bit much. It’s common here with non profit daycares; have to volunteer, fundraise, buy the kids artwork, etc. It’s a bit much since they are generally about the same price as orher daycares. I dont get the appeal of them.

S/O preschools, looks like we’re going to be moving C this Sept. With Kindy looming in the near future, I wanted to get both kids moved somewhere closer to home so that I can ensure a spot in an aftercare program. Unfortunately, there was no space for B in the preschool this upcoming school year but there was for C. So if he is in, at least I will have priority for B next year to get her into the aftercare program at the same center.
So it’ll suck to have them at separate places for the 2018/2019 school year but guess it needs to be done.

Morning! Took a 10 mile round bike ride with the kids and stopped by a really nice deli on the way to get some goodies for dinner and a cute place for tea and cake. The kids did great together in their room last night, so hopefully this is a good sign for the summer. Of to the pool in a little bit to get the kids good and tired for bed 😉!

yummeecookee, I feel like they should put B at the top of the wait list since she will have a sibling there. Siblings should get first priority. IMO.

Yes that’s a good point and I’m going to ask them about that. I am stopping by after work today to pay the registration fee, which officially holds C’s space. So at the point, I hope B would be first in line if a space opens for the upcoming school year!

Morning.
Nothing good about it. Went out to my car to take B to school and it wouldn't start.
DH came home and what we *should* have done is immediately put the kids in his car and taken B to school, then I could've dropped DH back at work. But he decided to try jumping it to see if it's the battery (I think the battery is fine but what do I know) and of course the Volvo battery is buried deep under the hood, so while he's trying to figure that out, he leaves the keys in the car and B was screwing around and locked the doors.
So they came in and the spare key is nowhere to be found. Tore the house apart and cannot find it anywhere.
At this point, DH needed to get back to work for a can't-miss meeting, leaving me here with the kids waiting on the locksmith. B was crying b/c we were ticked, and he wanted to get to school, etc.
I'm about to mix up a screwdriver, heavy on the vodka.
