Also add me to the club - for a while thought it was the McSteamy thing all over again - forget what they called it, but when you have a last burst of energy/clarity before dying. I mean she explained all this technical medical terminology moments after waking up from all of that... didn’t seem realistic at all.

I will never in my entire life accept that April and Jackson were not meant to come back to each other. This. Especially after she went with him when he met his dad. I call complete bullshit that she's back with the guy she left at the altar for her soulmate who is the father of her child and in her life. No! I will quit this show!!! Lol

I guess I dont understand hypothermia but how can you be down for some undetermined time and still make it through unscathed? I’ve watched a lot of medical shows and this is a thing apparently.

You would think this would make Jackson realize he loves her and they would get back together. If I didn't know she was leaving, this is what I would assume.
I never liked Matthew, he seems like a serial killer (have we discussed this about him)? And Hunt, or whoever said it, is right. He must be cursed. DNW.
I just didn't buy it at all when Arizona was talking about how in love they were. Although the reasons for keeping it quiet were legit.

I'm glad Arizona is getting a happier ending than just giving everything up to be close for Callie and Penny (blah). She deserves better, so I'm happy they did this storyline.
I loved her crying at April's bedside every time she spoke. She's a true friend lol.

Almost all my tears came from Jackson. Jesse really knocked this one out of the park tonight.
It was so weird seeing the previews for next week right after the episode ended. Everyone was running around happy and then I think we were supposed to laugh at Alex and Jo being stuck in the shed, but I still had tears in my eyes..

This was all very anticlimactic. I was expecting more. Also, Shonda did not use music to the best of her abilities like she normally does in such a dramatic episode. That was disappointing.

Maybe I’m alone in loving this episode? I’m so glad she lived. I didn’t think Mer’s cry was that bad. Jesse Williams is fucking amazing and I sobbed during like every scene of his. Hoping April and Matthew just ride off into the sunset to do mission work or something.

It felt so anticlimactic to me. I’m glad she’s not dead but I was really ready for that. If I were at home I’m sure I would have sobbed over jesse’s scenes. Meredith’s cry WAS that bad. I literally laughed out loud and cringed so hard.
Also. No. If you go hypothermic and you don’t have a pulse that means your brain isn’t getting oxygen which means your brain cells are dying and there WILL be lasting effects. Y’all don’t just wake up and say GUYS. IM FINE. LET ME PUT ON A DRESS FOR THE FUCKING WEDDING IM PLANNING AND THROWING LIKE I DIDNT JUST FUCKING DIE.
these medical storylines are driving me crazy lately omfg.

She's not dead till she's warm and dead I loved that they used that line again after our discussion about it.

No tearing up over here, I'm just mad. This is a dumb storyline I felt the same way. Especially seeing the preview next week and she’s totally fine and running the wedding? I also felt like the whole thing was very rushed. Usually they play those things out more.

I was thinking the same thing about the brain and O2 so I did a little googling. Apparently it is a thing where if you go cold enough fast enough it preserves function and you can be warmed and revived with little lasting consequences even after over an hour. It defies logic to me but I even read a couple peer reviewed articles on it.

Oh can we also discuss that supposedly Jackson used his entire inheritance to pay victims? Why the hell would a grandson who had nothing to do with it be using his personal money? I feel like that's not how It would work. And I also can't believe Catherine would let him do that. He told Jo he is basically broke.

Apparently it is a thing where if you go cold enough fast enough it preserves function and you can be warmed and revived with little lasting consequences even after over an hour. It defies logic to me but I even read a couple peer reviewed articles on it. So the thing is there is therapeutic hypothermia. We do it on babies that experience specific severe trauma at / during birth and meet certain criteria but the thing is they are properly ventilated so the brain is always receiving the adequate oxygen it needs. They stay cold for three days and then we warm them back up over a day. The way it works is brain injuries and lack of oxygen to the brain causes the brain cells to die and create toxins. When you start getting oxygen again the rush of oxygen release the toxins from the cells and they further destroy the healthy brain tissue, so by going cold it basically pauses the toxins from being released and lets the brain heal. But this is all done under a very controlled environment with appropriate timing from the beginning- not a oh we found this person in a ditch at like 60* and no pulse and not breathing for who knows how long.... which is why I’m so 🙄🙄🙄 over it. *and I realize that the process may differ a bit in adults vs neonates like I’m used to but still. No. Not like April’s quick recovery and perfectly normal return happens.

It was a little anticlimactic but I am sooooooo happy they seem to be finally giving someone a happy ending. That hasn't happened very much lately. I am happy with Arizona's opportunity as well, at least she won't feel like she is giving up her career, it'll be a step foward instead of backwards. Also, the actresses that play Arizona and April have been posting all kinds of pictures from behind the scenes and their favorite scenes through the years on Instagram and it's 😓😓😓

Why is Jesse Williams the only strong actor. Mer and Arizona’s cries were both awful.
After all of that honestly I wanted her to die (stay dead?). I like April’s character but we know Sarah Drew is leaving anyway and it feels like... all that for her to be up planning a wedding next week and still leave?

And I do agree it was a little too happy ending for a show where I think there would have been some effects left behind and she wouldn't be up and moving for the wedding the next week. But I guess it is a thing. There was even a case where a 6 year old was in a river for 65 minutes before being rescued and treatment wasn't started until 95 minutes and it discussed same course of action greys used. Circulatons, compressions, some special bypass. The kid had some affect to his limbs that he had therapy or treatment for but other than that woke up fine. I don't understand it, but it's out there lol.

Jesse was amazing I want to like this episode because I am glad she is alive, but I just can't with her and Matthew. She was just in love with Jackson and was all upset about him and Maggie and now she is so in love with someone else. The scene when he was crying and begging for her to live and she squeezed his hand I thought for sure they would be together again and she would just go work somewhere else and be mentioned every once in a while or maybe do a guest appearance some, but nope they had them in the same room after her saying she didn't want to see her kid (WUT?????). I would have understood her reasoning for not wanting to see Harriet if she had kept all her visitors out

They were in a roll over accident, she was thrown from the vehicle down an embankment. How did she not have any other injuries? That is the most unrealistic part for me.
The wedding is next weeks episode but that doesn’t mean it’s one week after the accident. The invitations just went out, they were picking cake flavors and final details. April will have time to recover before the wedding takes place.

I actually like April and Matthew together. It's sad how it happened, but I think it's cute they found their way back to each other. Jackson having a newfound faith will be an interesting storyline if they take it anywhere

But yes being in that bad of an accident and having no injuries has me like 🤔
