Got the call today I failed my 3hr, so yay GD? Getting a referral to a specialist within the next week, picking up a glucometer and test strips from the pharmacy whenever they call.
I also want to go be more active, but this SPD is killing me. Chiro appt is today at 3, so praying for some relief. I feel like such a lump because I can't workout or really do anything. Standing and waddling like i have stick up my butt is the limit of my capabilities right now. It's like my body realized this was going to be my last pregnancy and was like ooh let's have fun with this! *eye roll* Just keep reminding myself it could be worse, and at least everything wrong is temporarily and only affects me, not the baby, as long as I manage it.

Well, my toddler is puking and has a 103 degree fever and my nose has been bleeding non-stop for the past 3 hours. On the upside I'm getting practice multi-tasking with only one free hand, which will come in handy when baby arrives. Happy Monday!!! I hope your kiddo is better soon and your nose stops bleeding!

kaeguri , That's a great attitude about your ever increasing list of ailments. I also want to offer you encouragement. I remember around 28 weeks with my second feeling so defeated. I had months to go but felt like everything was falling apart and I'd never make it to the end. It turns out with proper management of the symptoms, I did improve and there were better days ahead. I hope the chiro helps today and some RR has you feeling better in no time!

I have my second 3 hour GTT test of this pregnancy this morning. Not really looking forward to it. Ugh. Good luck! Edit: just saw you passed! Yay!!!

I had a super productive A.M. so just relaxing now. Trying to decide how fun of a parent I want to be this week. We are going to the children’s museum Wednesday but a group is also going to a cool play place Tuesday. They are both over an hour away so nap would probably end up skipped. I’m leaning towards just doing Wednesday but we’ll see!

The kicking today is out of control. I swear she kicks me directly in the bladder a lot of the time. LT for solidarity. Same. I am usually so active during the day so when I sit for my lunch hour I really feel them,

I found some maternity shirts at Kohls and Walmart yesterday. Everyone is saying how cute my belly looks today. I think it's the stripes in the shirt.

I'm sorry for the diagnosis kaeguri. Will you be able to manage it with diet or are they recommending insulin shots?

I'm sorry kaeguri, I know it's not the news that you wanted to hear but it sounds like you have a great attitude about it. You're right, this is something manageable and only temporary. Your baby is healthy and that is the most important thing.

Can you maybe go do the group thing on Tuesday and pick another day for the museum?

I'm sorry for the diagnosis kaeguri . Will you be able to manage it with diet or are they recommending insulin shots? I won't know until I meet with the specialist. I'm going to keep logs of everything I eat between now and then, so hopefully that will help in determining which route to take. I usually track my food anyways as habit, but I've been slacking this last week.

I really want to go for a walk but I'm wearing a dress and chub rub so I'll chafe.

They will probably have you track your blood sugar for a couple of weeks before deciding if you need more than diet to control it. I got 4 weeks this time since I’ve done it twice before, lol. If you limit your carb intake to around 30g at a time, then your sugar should be fine in the meantime. Your customized recommended limits may allow you to go higher. GD gets worse until around 36w, so diet control is usually effective to start out. Sorry you have to deal with this too, but welcome to the club! Definitely better to know now and be able to protect baby from the high sugar effects than have complications later.

OMG, the chin hairs! Ew! I knew being hairy was a pregnancy thing, but chin hairs?! I've plucked two so far and I don't seem to notice them until they're long enough (like an inch) to tickle me. 😨

I think I'm going to look for a lightweight quilt. I'm not a fan of the duvet thing that you stuff with a filler. But I just washed my king size comforter and it's going on hour 2ish in the dryer 😬. I can't deal with that if I get baby poop or something on it. I'll always have him on a blanket over the bedspread but messes will happen. I can just put this heavy one up until it's cold again in December. 🎄

tarheelmom, that's what I figured, that they would see how diet helped before resorting to insulin. I have my carbs set at 50 right now, so hopefully that will be low enough. I just had my chiro appt. I may ask my chiro to marry me. I could swing my legs to get out of my car with so much less pain, and I actually walked up my stairs normally just now. Going back on Friday, then maybe every 2-3 weeks after.

I can’t imagine living through 3rd tri and summer simultaneously!

I decided to skip going to the play place today so for the first time in ages, we have no plans! Need to think of a way to entertain the toddler. We picked up 2’s crib last night so I’m hoping to put it together tonight!

DNW 100+ already!
