Quick q and then lI'll be back to chat. Did any of your littles have bad reactions to the vax? My DD1 had none but D2 is having trouble holding down too much and has some pretty runny poop.

Morning! I can hear both the boys making some awake noises, but DH still isn’t stirring. They aren’t crying so he’s probably trying to get every minute of sleep he can. I’m headed to work in a few minutes. Looks like there is a post or two on the 2019 board! Time flies. Sorry your little one isn’t feeling well, sunfrogger. No advice, but I hope he recovers quickly.

DS had a fever and lots of very runny poops.. he was sad and fussy too. It only lasted about a day though! Hope your DD feels better soon!

Did she get the rotavirus one? They warned us about runny poop but didn’t say anything about spit up/vomit. We had a ton of spit up/vomit for like 3 days. I’ll be bringing it up before we do the 2nd round of it.

Sorry I haven’t been around much lately I fly home today and can’t wait to cuddle with both kids. My 4 year old is struggling with me being gone. She has been waking up numerous times in the middle of the night crying that she misses me. Poor girl

sunfrogger, DS had a bad reaction to the 2 mo shots. Not what you described though. His leg got huge and red and puffy and he was inconsolable. I called the pediatrician and she told us to give Tylenol and use cold compress on his leg. By the time the first round of tyelnol wore off he was fine.

Hi! I have been up since 5 but I actually got some sleep so I feel pretty good. I am taking advantage of this burst of energy by cleaning and such. So far I am on my second load of laundry, a hand washed the pnp mattress and my bathroom floor mat, put them on my balcony to dry and washed all the breakfast dishes.
Now I am drinking coffee and watching Netflix. After the baby has his next bottle, I am going to take him to the grocery store for a few things that we need. My boss bought him the cutest little outfit and I think I am going to put him in it since it’s so warm out.

Thanks guys!!!
Her legs were totally fine, checked overnight and she didn't run a fever. It just looks like the rota didn't sit well with her belly. I wanted to make sure it was par for the course and not anything too crazy.
We're hanging out here. Tomorrow my gf and I are going to hang out which is nice. She just has a J/F18 baby. Right now we're playing with Play doh while DD2 naps. I'm a tad worried about the bridal shower I have on Sunday but my SIL will be over who is early education so hopefully she will help H with cup/etc feeding if she refuses a bottle again. This time I'll be gone for like 4 hours but I told MH to just call me if she starts to fuss too much.

And keeping plenty of absorbent burp cloths around. Yikes.

Last night was the best sleep I've had in weeks. Faith went down for the night at 9:00, I went to bed at 11:30. Faith woke up at 5:30, ate, then slept until 8:30 when my alarm went off. I didn't have to bring her to bed with us and I wasn't up multiple times last night! I hope this is the end of the leap or whatever nonsense the last few weeks were and not a fluke!

One of my coworkers just pulled me aside and said she was glad I’m back, because I’m a calming influence and the team kind of fell apart without me. Meetings have been ending in actual yelling and tears. I’m flattered she thinks I’m the solution, but I’m nervous for my team meetings now because apparently we are a mess!

Nothing too crazy today, dentist appts for our whole family this afternoon, minus the toothless baby ☺️ we have to go to the city for the appt and I just remembered I still have a gift card for a cute baby shop to use so I think I’ll try to pop in there.
DS started ball this week so our Monday and Wednesday evenings are busy with that now!
Have a good one!

But thankfully O seems to be doing much better than Yesterday!
This is really random. I just noticed while nursing. But Livs foot/leg just started shaking. I do that a lot just out of habit but she's little to do that. Normal?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
🍷🍷🍷 < I need this

DS didn’t have any reactions like that but he was MISERABLE the entire evening after his vax. Didn’t want to nurse, just screamed constantly until finally I gave him Tylenol & he settled enough to eat.

Also DS1 wasn't nearly as miserable for the rest of his shots just the first set. I used the freemies for the first time this morning and liked them. You do need a right stretchy bra to hold them in place and you can't hands on pump but I got the same if not more output than usual. Some review said their supply dropped over time though so hopefully that won't happen.

I have a breastfeeding question.
I have my first overnight away from DS this weekend, and I'll also be starting back to work next week.
I will be gone about 18 hours this weekend. I plan on pumping, but I never seem to get as much milk with the pump and my breasts don't feel empty if I go several hours without actually breastfeeding. On the few times I've been away for longer than 6 or 8 hours, my boobs were pretty sore even with pumping.
Any tips on preventing this? Is my supply going to tank from my overnight this weekend, even if I pump while I'm gone? Will my boobs start to emtpy better with the pump when I'm back at work?

pinkcat I only pump for date nights so maybe one of the other working moms can give better advice but I think the rule is to pump more frequently when away from baby. Like DS nurses every 4 hrs but if I was away for that long I’d probably pump every 2.5-3. Regardless, I think one day won’t tank your supply. I’d be more concerned with being uncomfortable & clogged ducts etc. not quite the same but I left DD for 4 days when she was 15mo and I was so afraid I’d just dry up (she was only nursing 4x at that point). I barely got anything from the pump but came back & everything was still fine. So with such a full supply at this point I wouldn’t stress about it!

Pump as often as baby nurses if not a littlr more. It will take your body time up adjust to the pump. Also try to encourage multiple let downs. Watch movies, pics, I even bring a burp cloths with me which may sound gross but 🤷♀️ Milk removal keeps the supply up, but nothing removes milk as efficiently as your baby. So temper that with additional pumps and even power pumping at night if you want. If you're worried, drink some mothers milk tea and make some oatmeal cookies or lactation bites as snacks at work. And drink allllllll the water.

But she's definitely tested me these last 3 months home!!!!! G goes through periods were she doesn’t nap for a few days or even a week. Every time she does I am convinced she is dropping her nap which is not the case. I still bring her upstairs to lay down for awhile and most of the time she naps. Sometimes she doesn’t. No clear pattern. I hope this is what’s going on with your oldest and she goes back to her naps.

Thanks marygracerich. Me too. We’re all very testy from bad naps and the heat. Our central is 15 years old and takes forever to kick on. It’s hot AF in here. We didn’t really want to turn on the AC but. We are for tomorrow. So in the AM when it’s coolest we will. We usually have an issue every year so hopefully tomorrow it works 🤞🏻 Reminder to myself to have the ac unit inspected before i go back to work.

I have another question!
DS has days sometimes where he still wants to breastfeed every two hours or even every hour almost. He's 11 weeks. He has days where he goes 3 or 4 hours and at night goes 4 or 5, but today seemed hungry every 1 to 2 hours. I assume just a growth spurt? Can you overfeed at this age? I just want to make sure I'm not offering TOO often!

DS nursed every two hours for much longer, V isn't old enough to tell how it will go!

No pinkcat, you can't overfeed a breastfed baby. You're probably right that it's a growth spurt. You're doing great!
