Weeks pregnant or How old is your LO: 3 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a: back up to birthweight so at least 7lb 14oz

Appointments: 1 month appt on 5/14

Symptoms: sleeplessness 💤

Milestones: back up to birth weight so I can stop waking him to feed at night. Last night he only woke up once at 1:30🙌🏻

Rants/Raves/Vents: I did not buy enough newborn clothes (my dd was 9lb at birth) so I had to run to Kohl’s yesterday for a few warm weather NB outfits. I will also probably have to pick up another box of NB diapers🤦🏼‍♀️

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?

I’d love to go back and re-experience our honeymoon. We didn’t even go anywhere super special (Mexico) but it was such a fun trip!

Not quite ready for the 0-3 cloud island sleepers😂

Rants/Raves/Vents:
I'm almost halfway through my maternity leave. 😭. I can't imagine going back this time.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?
College. I chose a very, very male dominated major and the males in it were of the super nerdy variety. Only 2 of them were normal enough to be friends with and only a handful of others would even talk to me. I didn't change my major because all the guys assumed I couldn't hack it and would. It left me really isolated though and I ended up getting into not great relationships just to avoid being alone. I'd go back and make more of an effort to make friends outside of my major, avoid those relationships and have a lot more random sex.

How old is your LO: 10 weeks tomorrow

Appointments: next one at 4 months, seems so far away!

Milestones: stronger neck muscles every day I think! TONS of smiles. More cooing.

Rants/Raves/Vents: I have an official start date back to work. May 17. But then I’m working 2 days the next week, 3 days the week after that, and then I’ll be back up to my regular 4 10s after that. Mixed feelings for sure. And really stressed about him not yet taking a bottle.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?
I would for sure re-experience college. It was such a fun time in my life and I really miss having all my friends so close, either living together or only a 5 min walk away. I actually liked the school part of college too, so I’d even like to do that again.
I would redo high school and not give a flying f about what anyone thought. I was way too self conscious, shy, and worried about what people thought of me. I’m sure that’s probably common, but life is so much easier when you don’t care about all that.

How old is your LO: 22 hours, give or take a few minutes.

Appointments: well, we’re still in the hospital. She has an appointment with the ped on Monday. I have no idea when my next appointment is.

Milestones: she’s an outside baby now!

Rants/Raves/Vents: nothing really. She slept great last night, I didn’t. I’m a little sore today, but managing on Tylenol & Motrin.

GTKY: I don’t think so. I’ve enjoyed all of them, but nothing I’d necessarily want to relive.

Appointments: immunizations next week

Milestones: I think we are officially out of newborn clothes and diapers. I have maybe 10 more diapers I’m trying to squeeze him into to use up though.

Rants/Raves/Vents: he was doing a 6 hr stretch for three nights in a row and now he’s back to every three hours and I’m driving myself crazy trying to figure out why that changed. Crazy.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?
University for sure. Particularly the first couple of years. It was the most fun of my life.
Our trip to Fiji/Australia last year.
And I’ve always said I want to go back and hold L as a newborn one more time. It was such a blur that I wish I could go back and snuggle him one more time to remember it.

How old is your LO: 4 weeks

Appointments:
He will have his one month appointment in a week and a half.

Milestones:
Awake more, better head control, eating larger amounts

Rants/Raves/Vents:
He takes long naps during the day and is up every 1-2 hours at night. Also, so much poop. Never seen a baby poop so much!

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?
I would definitely revisit and redo high school.

How old is your LO: 5.5 weeks

Appointments: 5/9 for our 6 week discharge appt

Milestones: Making lots of eye contact and noise for people. She mer her great- grandma and aunt, uncle and cousin over the weekend.

Rants/Raves/Vents: She's fighting sleep during the day and wakes up as soon as I put her down. She's falling asleep nursing and I'd rather not go down that road again. It was the only way DS would fall asleep forever.

She did take her first bottle the other day though and it went well.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience?

I loved that first summer when SO and I were dating. We had so much fun together. We used to go for night time bike rides to the canal and drink beer and go fishing.

How old is your LO: 6 weeks

Appointments: two month on 5/17

Milestones: so many smiles and she loves to talk so much. Especially to D1 and Mh when he gets home from work.

Rants/Raves/Vents: I don't want to jinx it but it's been one week since I cut out dairy and she is a completely different baby. We are down to only 1-2 spit ups a day and she is napping and sleeping so much better. I'm getting 4 hour stretches at night and she is not really fussy and goes back down quickly.

Probably high school and college. I was in such a rush to be done and start my adult life that I wish I would have enjoyed it more and actually went to parties and dated more.

First park trip in the Tula. I love that thing. She napped the entire time.

We are also moving up to size 1 diapers leatherpants. Mostly because we are running out of newborn and I don't want to buy more haha. But luckily the size one fits her well.

Damn cp3. I think I’m going to have to try the dairy elimination next. Everything we do - meds, RnP, probiotics etc seems to work for a bit and then back to super fussy. I guess it can’t hurt at this point.

How old is your LO: 8 weeks

Appointments: tomorrow for both of us. L will get his first immunizations

Milestones: he is smiling a lot more and cooing a lot more.

Rants/Raves/Vents: L is napping in his PNP this is the first time. I am really working on getting him used to it. My rant is my 4 yo wears me out on the days he is home he wants constant attention and to help, but doesn’t really help. Also he had a major regression with pooping on the potty when L was born that we are dealing with.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience? I would like to re-do high school and would have put more effort into developing friendships. I was so quiet I didn’t make many friends. I also would like to redo college/grad school again for the same reason. I also would’ve probably added another major if I redid college and maybe got my PHD in grad school. I could go back now for a PHD but it doesn’t work with my schedule. I am year worth of classes and a dissertation away from it.

I was wondering how he was doing with the meds leatherpants. I'm sorry he is still having problems. Going dairy free hasn't been too bad actually. I started noticing a difference about two days after and now at a week it has been such a huge improvement. I can get her to nap independently in the bouncer or RNP and she will sleep in the RNP at night. I think I'm going to try the bassinet next week. She was constantly needing to be held during the day and would take hours to go down at night and it has been such a huge improvement. I hope you can find something that works for him.

Well that all sounds pretty life saving. Thank goodness that worked!

I actually think he’s grown out of his dose for his meds. He’s grown pretty fast over the last two weeks and I feel like they are diminishing in strength.

My main issue is that he is so fussy between 430 and 7am. Like discomfort, in pain and still really fussy before he spits up. I’ve been thinking of trying to give him a dose at his earlier feed but I’m so dumb in the motn that I forget.
Plus the nutritional plan I’m following is dairy free so it can’t gurt b

Appointments: 2 month appointment is next week, and also DS1’s 3 year appointment. Where does time go?

Milestones: so many smiles! He’s either happy or screaming. Pretty much no in between.

Rants/Raves/Vents:

Things are getting better - he’s less fussy and starting to get more interactive with us. But there are still some trying moments. DH told me he thinks I blocked out all bad things from DS1 and I only remember the good. Might be true bc that kid was a saint 😀

Not really. If I had to choose I think I’d go back to college and do some things differently. Mainly I’d stick it out at the college I was at for more than a year and not transfer. I can’t regret that though bc otherwise I wouldn’t have met DH.
So maybe our early years when we traveled a ton and had a blast! I miss vacations.

It is! I bought my older DD one for her easter basket and grabbed one for O too to get free shipping😂. She loves her Charlotte dog and plays hard with it- it’s been through the washer a few times already and still looks as good as new!

Appointments: she had her 2 week well - she weighed 7,14 - an ounce shy of her birth weight

Milestones: little coos here and there - first flight was last week and she did amazing

How old is your LO: 8 weeks HOW

How big is LO: 12lb 12oz and 24" long

Appointments: I had my 6 wk postpartum on Monday and my midwife was very happy with everything. IUD placement scheduled for June sometime and it's a couple weeks till DS's 2 month.

Milestones: STTN. And he knows his parents. He has cried for me when I came along and he cried when MIL took him from DH. :/
He discovered his hands yesterday and was going cross eyed looking at his fist.

Rants/Raves/Vents: after recovering from his cold his sleep was a mess, but I think it's good now. I don't think he ever naps long enough but maybe that's cause he doesn't need to?? I still feel pretty clueless.
We are also going to be in size 2 diapers in a couple days. Mostly because I don't think it pays to buy another whole box of size 1. Newborn clothes are definitely too small. He wears anywhere from 0-3m, 3m, or 3-6m depending on brand and fit.

GTKY: Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience? Our engagement and honeymoon. I was pretty spacey and I feel like my personality was really repressed. And at our wedding I wish I would have socialized with all my friends and family more instead of just standing by DH. It was pretty weird looking back even a couple weeks later.

I’m late this week, it’s been a tough one.

How old is your LO: 5 weeks today

Appointments: My 6-week checkup next week

Milestones: First social smile!

Rants/Raves/Vents: My toddler has been so tough the past few days. I don’t know if it’s his age or still adjusting to the baby, but he has been testing every single boundary and having the most massive meltdowns whenever we tell him no. And with sleeping in 2 hour chunks at night, I don’t have a whole lot of patience to spare.

So I’ve been yelling at my toddler more in the past three days than I ever have in his life, and I feel like a terrible mom.

Thankfully, other than not giving me any longer chunks of sleep, the baby at least has been a dream.

GTKY:. Is there a period of your life you wish you could revisit, either to redo or just re-experience? College. I would pick a different major - mine was in music education, and I know now that I really don’t think I’m cut out to be a teacher. I’m a SAHM now, but I see myself going back to work in some capacity once my kids are both in school.

katietopaz ((Hugs)) I’m going through the same thing. My 4 year old has been throwing tantrums and she never had and i have no patience and find myself yelling more and more. My girls are 4 and 2 and know they have limited ability to control emotions but what’s my excuse. I feel awful. Being exhausted does not help.

katietopaz Lots of hugs. I'm in the same boat. My 2 and 4 year old have really been pushing my buttons, but the 2 year old has been sleeping awfully and everyday is full of meltdowns and defiance from both younger ones. Add that to sleep deprivation and it's all hard. I've been yelling too. 😣 Extra hugs and commiseration for you (and sweetc129 too).
