They're getting titles after the wedding, right? Does Meghan become a princess when she marries Harry? I don't modern royal well. Duchess most likely.

So, does the Queen just get to give out whatever Dukedom(?) she wants?
Because I was watching a show on great British houses and they featured Chatsworth (the movie the Duchess was filmed there which is fitting because she lived there). That house is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire and the Cavendish family just keeps inheriting the house and title. Can Elizabeth just take it if she wants?
I might be overthinking all of this that really has no basis in any reality that I live in.

Technically, Meghan would be Princess Henry much like Kate is technically Princess William. It’s only Princess (own first name) if you’re born into the role- aka Princess Beatrice or Eugenia. When Charles becomes King and William the Prince of Wales, Kate will be Catherine, Princess of Wales. Harry will become His Royal Highness The Prince Henry and Meghan likely The Princess Henry. But much like Kate is still commonly called Kate by the press, it is unlikely we will hear Meghan called “The Princess Henry.”

Why I can remember this but can’t find my kid’s library book is a mystery to me.

I see it's a sparsely populated island im on but I think Megan wearing the Spencer tiara is a lovely idea. It removes all speculation about how they're honouring Diana, makes a beautiful and bold statement that she's visibly missed, and reminds us of where Harry came from. I love it and hope it happens. 🤷🏻♀️
Several of my close friends have lost a parent at a young age and making the deceased parent a visible part of their wedding ceremony was really important to them. TETO, of course. Harry just seems really into wearing his heart on his sleeve so that gesture seems in line with his newer "openly grieve your losses" stance.

My favorite excerpt: "He reassured her he's recovering and doing okay, adding he will "proudly" watch her tie the knot Saturday on TV "in a secluded place with friends, hopefully with no press."

It would be really funny though if Elizabeth just called a random Duke and was all “Sorry dude, taking your title and giving it to my grandson and his new wife.”

I think the Spencer tiara would be a really nice choice. As I’m sure her dress will not be following in Diana’s footprints and her overall look is different, I think it’s a nice way to honor her without copying her. All her options are tied to his family in some way, so I think using something specifically tied to his mom is nice.
For pure bling status, I’d love to see either the Delhi Durbar Tiara or Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara.

Am I remembering wrong or was Diana wearing the Spencer tiara seen as a snub against the royal family because it didn’t belong the family she was marrying into? Or was that just because she chose to wear it so much after the marriage?

Please learn to open champagne. It's easy and a cool party trick if you're around people who aren't familiar. Remove the foil and the cage, hold the bottle, point it at an angle so it's away from your face and/or anything else breakable, and then just hold firm on the cork and slowly twist and pull up on the cork. Your goal is not to have a cork fly across the room, it should end up in your hand.

I hate Everytime I open champagne I think of them.

A sommelier taught me how to use a saber to open a champagne bottle. It's called sabering. Honestly you can use a spatula to do it since the saber needs to be blunt.

I made English scones. I pressed the dough too thin and they didn't rise well but they're tasty!

I have opened... a lot of champagne bottles in my life and find it's just an extra thing to fuss with.

Wow I love the Roland Mouret dress. I do think her coat game is just not strong, I've liked some of her dresses a lot.
I'm guessing the Spencer tiara with her hair up.
