Oh my gosh how do we have kids ready to do first solids! AHH!
We won't do solids until 6 months so we're still about 4 months off. I might give her a taste or two before then, chew on some apple slices, etc, starting at 4 mo but we ran into major GI issues with DD1 when we tried to start solids at 4-5 months, so we stopped for a few weeks and started up again at 6 months, with minor to no issues.

I'm so excited about introing foods, it is fun! We'll prob start around 5 months with baby led weaning, so that will be July-ish. Well, blended approach with some purees so not strictly BLW. Pun intended.

Pun intended. This is sort of what we do both unintentionally. Before we had G we had never heard of BLW. I told the dr that she had shown interest in what we were eating. He told me to go ahead and introduce solids. I start with purees. Then when they show more interest in our foods and can chew a little better, we let them sort of chew on foods that we are eating.

We lean more to the BLW side. I love the way it makes them use their fine motor skills.

We did BLW and will do that again staring at 6 MOS or whenever he is sitting independently.

Ditto to the BLW. I liked not buying any baby food jars. Just took whatever soft food we had on hand and plopped it in front of her. Maybe mushed it a little first.
