We have baptism this weekend too!
C has just recently started rolling to his side from his back, he gets his leg swinging but he currently is getting hung up on his shoulder. E didn't roll until closer to 4 months.
The weather is finally getting nice here, we went for a walk last night. Hopefully by this weekend the snow will be gone. We are hoping to start clearing trees for where the house is going to be built. I was hoping to be breaking ground by this time but nothing ever works out like I have planned.

When do you go to Disney ajetter? That will be so fun! What kind of shirts are you making? I am sooo exited to take DS there, we did Disney for our babymoon and it already feels like it's been too long since we've been there! 😛 I turn 30 this fall and I was reeeeally hoping mh would surprise me with a short weekend trip to FL. We'd take the girls obvi but. I really want to go to HP WORLD! And Also Disney. I've never been.

My DD1 sat in tripod for like, a week. And then sat unsupported at 4mo. We hit all those physical milestones crazy early. I won't be surprised if O doesn't quite hit the same timing because she's trying to babble already.

Add me to the Baptism party list. I anticipate only my family and DH's so not a huge luncheon afterward. I shamelessly bought DS a cute pair of shoes today to match his outfit. DD was at least 6 months before I bought her a pair of shoes.
Two month appt today has given me a sleepy baby. I have high hopes of being productive this afternoon. I was able to go to Hallmark after his appointment to buy Mother's Day, Graduation and Teacher Appreciation cards.
22 more days of leave. Excited and sad at the same time.

I'm just here doing laundry. I went to Target but I will still need to go to the grocery bc somehow they didn't have Hot Pockets for MH?? Weird.
Both girls are napping. I should have done some schoolwork but I'll start this week's stuff tomorrow.
Today is day 1 officially DF. I'm finding more stuff that I CAN eat around here so maybe these test couple weeks won't be too bad. Is it bad I'm hoping it really makes no difference and I can go back to eating ice cream and cheese like nobody's business? Plus I love to bake. Sooo....

What's on everyone's baptism party menus? We're doing: frittatas (one with ham, asparagus and gruyere and one with roasted sweet potatoes, smoked gouda and sun dried tomatoes!), simple green salad, fruit salad and pastries. There will be cake. And while everyone is waiting for the main stuff, cheese and crackers, chips and dip and hummus and veggies. It's just the grandparents and my sister's family (her and BIL and 3 nephews) and my grandfather. I might invite my childhood BFF, we usually invite her family to our family events too!

Oh yeah, we need to plan a dedication. Maybe late June? May is really busy for us. And I'd like to invite our New England family which we can't really do on the drop of a dime. DD1 had hers at like 7mo, but I'd rather do it a bit earlier this time if we can! Plus, summer means we can have people over outside.

Vegan "butter", almond milk, coconut oil...there are a ton of good substitutions so you can still bake! I have to admit, I was hoping it didn't make a difference when I tried re-introducing.

We are hosting lunch for immediate family after church, Ceasar Chicken Sandwiches and a salad and then an open house reception from 3-5. Cake, chips and some Chex Mix, super simple. I didn't want to go too crazy even before D lost his job but now I want to make sure I don't go too far with the food. The 3-5 time frame means no one will be expecting a meal and I just need to not cave in to event planner hostess brain who wants to feed everybody all the things.

easternshoregirl I'm lazy and buying everything. I'm doing a sandwich tray from a local deli. Then I'm grabbing a veggie tray and fruit tray from Sam's Club (they looked slightly better than Costco). My mom is making macaroni salad. I'm debating some chips or crackers. Of course we'll have cake. I wanted to go with my favorite bakery but you have to place an order weeks in advance. Instead, we're doing a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods. I wanted everything quick because my parents and brothers in law won't be able to stay long before they have to make the drive home. My mother In law will stay with us on Sunday (*heavy sarcasm* oh joy).

We had both girls baptized a few weeks ago but did a brunch after. I ordered 2 quiches (one spinach and mushroom and one florentine), fruit salad and two coffee cakes (one apple and one lemon) from a local catering company. DH made a ton of bacon too. And we had juice, mimosas and one of the to go things from starbucks. That was about as much effort as I could put into it. Oh and some ladies at the church made these adorable cross cookies that they put in clear bags so I set those out like I made them. Haha

Happy Monday all!! It's sunny and warm here 😎😎 DS is pretty good at tummy time but hasn't seemed close to rolling over, except for the times he does it accidentally. When are they "suppposed" to roll over?? H turned 3 months last week and hasn’t shown any signs of rolling over. No idea when it should actually start. I’m pretty sure amesie has an H child too so lots of confusion happening in this group! +1 DS is 3mo1w and no signs of rolling. He does great at tummy time though & is really strong. If I put him on his side he can roll to his tummy. I can’t remember when DD first rolled, I’m sort of like “meh” about it haha.

I won't be surprised if O doesn't quite hit the same timing because she's trying to babble already. See mine was the opposite! DD was about 2 months behind “average” on gross motor skills but she was the chattiest little thing & had razor sharp fine motor skills. So I figured she was just focusing on that haha. Crawled at 11mo and walked at 16mo. I’ll be curious to see what DS does bc he is already a chatterbox like she was, but I assumed he would reach gross motor milestones quicker bc he wants to keep up with big sis.

We will dedicate baby at church but they do it twice a year and he was only a few weeks old when they held one so we will dedicate him in the fall.

My older DS never liked the MamaRoo, so we only just pulled it out to try it with DS2. It’s practically magic. I finally understand all the positive reviews! Twice in the past two days he went from screaming his head off to passed out within a couple minutes.
Unfortunately, I have to admit that the SNOO was a massive waste of money. I think it’s probably a great product for plenty of people, it just doesn’t work any better than the rock n play or mamaroo for us. The thing that sets it apart, sensing them crying and rocking them harder, doesn’t really work for DS because he’s a decent sleeper and only really wakes up at night when he actually needs to eat.

Well it’s 7pm so I'm treating this sleep cue like bedtime. Cross your fingers....

snowyowl I'm sad to hear you don't like the Snoo! We have it and love it, but I also don't have any experience without it so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Our mamaroo died so I got a regular swing which seems to be preferred. I'm glad I got it cheap at a consignment sale. I do like the snoo and find it helpful to put him to sleep at bedtime but I'm not sure it is worth the high price tag. I bought a sit and stand stroller and DS1 is obsessed with the snack tray. The problem is that this makes him want to ride in the front seat which defeats the purpose

J's first day of daycare went great!
My day, on the otherhand, was horrible. I am ready for today to be over

Hi! Working and momming is time consuming and exhausting. I'm just checking in to say heyyy. Also, no rolling going on here. But the smiles are so awesome at this age. Any one else's LO get distracted while nursing and smile at you? It's adorable.

It isn’t even that I don’t like it... it’s just that DS will sleep from 4-6 hours in it, but he will also sleep that much in the rock n play and the mamaroo. For babies that wake up a lot even when they aren’t hungry, or people who aren’t comfortable letting their LOs sleep in a rock n play, I can definitely see how it’s a great option. I wish I could sell it, but both my sisters plan on babies in the next couple years so I’m going to put everything in storage at my parent’s house in case they need it. They might very well have babies who sleep less than mine! I did buy it majorly on sale on Amazon, so at least there is that!

We have never tried something else so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I wonder if DS would sleep as well somewhere else too if we didn't have him in there. We got ours on sale on Amazon too- so at least we both got good deals on them!
