Ugh. Sorry for the double post!
I need all the wine today.
While I do think the gas drops helped our spit up problem sleep has gotten worse. She was up half the night.
Please help me. I'm a mess. Do I just see if it's leap 2 related? Do I try a milk elimination diet? (Pls no, I need chocolate) do I cry and hope the next 9 weeks go fast so I can sleep train at 4mo? Do I change the swaddle sack we're using?
If I can get her to sleep not in my arms I want to do some cleaning since DD1 went to the back up center for a freebie day. But this is the first she's slept more than 5 minutes since...... 4am? Plus, a shower and lunch with my gf, then I'm going to walk the mall to be out of the house for a bit / get O to sleep in the carrier.

I’m so sorry sleep is rough sunfrogger. If it were me while it doesn’t solve why she won’t sleep I’d be having my H get up one night and get sleep for myself. Moms need rest too. Have you tried gripe water? That seemed to cut down a lot of gas/spit up for us. If you do have to go dairy free enjoy life makes excellent dairy free chocolate/snacks.

Morning! I’m hitting the DD Drive thru then headed to a couple stores. I head back to work next week so I’m in the final push to get a few things done around the house.
Also gimme all the wine. My IL’s are supposed to bring Dinner tonight.

He's offered to on more than one occasion. I’m so exhausted. I just feel like two grumpy parents are worse than one. Kwim? benandjerrys can I use a Merlin if she’s not in the crib yet? At 7w we’re still in the RnP and I’m not sure about moving her to the crib yet. Here’s my HDBD picture of my little princess. Such a chunk. 😍

I don't even know what the problem is anymore. We had a ton of spit up. That's gone mostly but our sleep has been worse. She's finally asleep - has been for an hour and a half - on the rocker with me. But I need to put her down to shower and stuff.
Can I insert a routine?
Should I really move her to the crib this early? I'm afraid of silent spit up being flat. But since holding her upright we've had maybe 1 spit up at night episode and I think that's from me not judging the time right in a sleep stupor. I was planning to move her at 3mo or even 2.5mo which I guess isn't that far away anymore. Since I go back to work at the end of May.

sunfrogger, dark chocolate is usually dairy free....does that work? I love dark chocolate but I love milk chocolate more 😭. Would I also have to give up baked goods? I'm assuming definitely Alfredo sauce (cheese and milk). What else are big things? Shit that means no peanut M&ms 😭😭😭

Hey ladies!! I’ve missed you! My gosh I missed the births and the first few months! Things have been a little nutty. I’ve been back to work for about a week and a half and I feel like I have more time to try to catch up here! I had my 12 weeks off and got back to work and my department had been downsized. Well, completely eliminated. I had the option of taking a severance or moving to a new position, commission business sales. Gross. I took the job. I’ve been with this company for 11.5 years. I can’t get these benefits or vacation time etc anywhere else. So I’ve been in training since I got back. Nik is amazing. He’s 16 pounds!! So much bigger than brother was. Jake’s been amazing with him. I’m going to try to catch up with you ladies. I hope you’re all well!

Stopping in for a morning report. Hockey game was fun but we lost in double OT. Picked up Faith at midnight, fed her at 12:30, in bed by 1:00 and then up and down all night. We left one arm unswaddled and I think that did affect her sleep. That and she kept spitting out the paci which she noticed because she wasn't sleeping well. I don't know that I have much of a choice to keep her fully swaddled since she is starting to roll over on her side and scoot around so I guess we just have to deal with some bad sleep for a bit. Please let me know if I have other safe options.
We are both zombies this morning because we were both up with her multiple times. It will be a busy day at work for me so I might not be around much until later.

I'm assuming definitely Alfredo sauce (cheese and milk). What else are big things? Shit that means no peanut M&ms 😭😭😭 Basically just stick to meat and veggies and fruit and grains like rice, quinoa, etc. BUT, you will get creative and figure out how to do dairy free Rice Krispie treats for instance... Asian dishes are great b/c they have a lot of flavor (usually) without cheese or other dairy. This week, I have been stocking my freezer with a ton of dishes that are dairy free: chili, soups (pozole, sweet potato), balsamic beef roast, black bean burgers, etc.

sunfrogger my sleep issues and baby anger have been well documented here. I really feel for you. I’m always hesitant to plug elimination bc maybe that’s not here problem and then you’ve just made things much harder on yourself. With that being said eliminating dairy and soy have drastically reduced our gas issues. Her night sleep as also really improved. I thought I was being careful eating out on Saturday but must’ve had a soy slip (Japanese food) and paid for it Sunday and Monday. She’s still not very happy but I think it’s reflux related and she’s T least happier. Not napping basically at all but sleeping 10-6 give or take 30 mins with regularity so I’ll take it. I’ve also stated to lose weight so I guess I’m advicating trying elimination when you are ready. ALSO like kbw said get your H involved at night. I was al no I can handle it and then eventually I couldn’t and insisting I do everything wasn’t helping anyone. When we are in a bad stretch of day and night problems H takes her and I sleep in peace. We set a time (say 5 or 6) and until that time he gives her pumped milk and I’m not disturbed. Or, if your boobs can’t handle it, you nurse and then hand her off and he gets her back down if she will not go back to sleep. It’s also ok if want to not change anything now and just vent. Sometimes that’s all I need. Too many typos to count. My auto correct blows.

marygracerich I know he’s one of the older babies on the board but he seems like such a big boy! I just ordered one of those seats. Excited to try it. Is the fabric part easy to get off and wash in the washing machine?

morning!
MH has been working doubles for the past two weeks and I am exhausted. I can’t even remember the last time I wasn’t the primary person responsible for watching babies at all times. Thankfully he has the day off today so trying to decide what to do. It’s also beautiful and sunny 😎
My best friend had her first baby last week and they’re having quite a bit of feeding troubles. She’s still losing weight a week later so they might have to start supplementing with formula today. Her husband is such an ass about the ways he think his kids should be raised and has already made so many unfavourable comments about formula. He also won’t let them leave the house for a while because of germs, won’t allow her to swaddle the baby and just in general is being really controlling and crazy. I feel really bad for her but at the same time don’t want to over step and say something. What would you do? Should I just bite my tongue?
I just hope she feels like she has some sort of support in a tough time

sparky85 how are things going w the Prevacid? Did they mix it for you at the pharmacy or are you compounding it at home? We got this yesterday (compounded at pharmacy). Could be a coincidence but she had awful gas all day after hving the medicine. Day sleep as even worse. I googled this and found lots of side effects of gas and insomnia WTF! Have you experienced this? I have a message into my dr. FWIW, DS1 was on Prilosec and had no issues.when I looked up Prevacid, Prilosec has the same side effects.

Hugs sunfrogger, I don't have any actual sleep advice, but I echo the other on having your husband help more. Especially since he's offering. I thought I could do it all at the beginning and that led me to be a crying, bumbling mess. Even if it's just a couple times a week, some more sleep is going to make you feel better. And if he's not doing it all the time, it's unlikely you're both going to be grumpy messes.
