The ice better let up because there is no coffee or beer here and the kids have been eating everything in sight.
I can’t wait to leave the house tomorrow!

thatgolfb you are 1000000% doing the right thing by getting it checked asap. Fwiw my mum has cystic breast tissue and has had a lot of alarming lumps turn out to be nothing at all. She now gets quarterly ultrasounds just to be safe. I'm keeping you in my thoughts. That is good to know! Thank you. I am BFing so I am thinking the hormones may make me prone to cysts, but I could be making that up, lol.

No you're totally right, women who have recently or are breastfeeding are prone to false "positive" type scares. The odds are really good but it really really can't hurt to get checked and I'm so glad you're doing so.

thatgolfb odds are good that it’s nothing, especially since you are still nursing, right? Hormones do crazy things to boobs. Good for you for getting it checked out to be sure. I posted before I read this, I was thinking the same thing!

A friend of mine is having a tough time and I arranged for a rare night away from the kids later this week so I could meet up with her and catch up. Now she is texting me telling me that she’s SO excited because there is an amazing poetry reading happening that night and now we can go! I don’t get to go out much these days and I don’t really want to spend my evening listening to someone read poetry. We are both English teachers, but... I was thinking drinking wine and gossiping about what I’ve missed at work while on mat leave. But I feel bad trying to dictate what we do because of the aforementioned having a tough time thing.

It's almost certainly nothing but it's still good to get checked out, especially with a family history.

thatgolfb, I really hope it’s nothing. From my experience, I had to be BF free for 6 months before I could get a mammogram, so please don’t be alarmed if your doctor doesn’t do one right away.

I am planning for summer and trying to schedule days off for vacations and all the fun day trips we want to do. Looking at the calendar it goes so goddamn fast- I feel like we can never cram it all in. But, we are planning our first real vacation (just a road trip, but an honest to God stay in a hotel at a tourist destination road trip) in like 10 years so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. My kids' summer break always seems to fly by. It's not actually very long but it just seems like, between visiting grandparents and a camp or two, before we know it it's Labor day

That is what I thought but they actually said it was possible. I was surprised! But they didn't schedule one yet.

snowyowl, I would just suggest to her doing what you were considering and see how it goes. I would not want my one kid free night being spent at a poetry reading either, unless it was the reason I was doing it.

thatgolfb I developed a little cyst when I breastfed my first baby. Hopefully it’s nothing! dc2london That’s such a pain. Nothing worse than moving in and immediately dealing with problems. Hope they are easy fixes from here on out. msdrdg I’m really sorry, so stressful. I hope it’s not as bad are you are fearing.

It seems like every weekend there's a party or a road trip. I mean, it's a good problem to have, but it flies. Plus summer is my busy time at work so it's tough for me to balance everything. We're not even taking real vacation until September, haha.

My six year old ate three giant pancakes, three fried eggs, and a lot of grapes for dinner.
I’m going to have to revisit the grocery budget.

SO brought me a half open bottle of wine from a fancy winery last night and DD just spilled a whole glass on my lap by trying to “sneak” into the chair that I already told her to not climb on while I was getting DS settled.
So now nobody is settled, my clothes are soaking and I’m drinking a half frozen bottle of “not fancy” wine from a case out of the garage.
Thankfully/shittily SO said it’s totally dead tonight and he should be home soon instead of at midnight. He still won’t be here for bedtime, but maybe I’ll actually be awake when he gets home.

I’m at Jiu jitsu right now and making a gyro when I get home.
I got a job offer today and I’m very excited.

I’m so ready for bed. I ate a nice healthy dinner of salmon and roasted carrots and now I’m ready for sleep.
My 5 year old is being ridiculous though. It takes him 100 years to eat and I can’t stand it.

It's been a week since we've started eating better and it's going suprisingly well. We had salmon with brussel sprouts for dinner.
After dinner D1 told me I'm a "good cooker" lol. She also told Mh she loves me because I snuggle her when he did bedtime with her. I had a rough day with the baby and she made my day better.
