GUYS! My H just said he wants to take the kid to get a haircut and to the zoo tomorrow...without me. So. Guess I’ll have to sleep in and do nothing all day. Damn. How do I work this magic?!? Only have one kid who happens to be really easy. My H actually took him to run errands and have a guys day last Saturday, too. Of course H will probably make up for it by working on Sunday.

We get this, but in gif form. Now that I look closer it does say Mathew Lillard. It’s totally him. I’ve seen the movie approximately 83626 times. I did try to watch it as an adult and... it kinda sort of sucks pretty bad. I used to love that movie. He aged creepily.

I just bought a pair today, along with a rain jacket and small umbrella. I’m prepared! Everyone will immediately know you're from California if you use that umbrella. I saw like 3 umbrellas total the whole time we lived there.

OMG jabbers. You cannot use the umbrella. You need a good quality raincoat like Patagonia, North Face or Columbia, rain boots can be any brand and your kids need the same plus rain pants of any brand. You only use the umbrella if you are going out and have freshly done hair or it is the worst storm. Seriously, umbrellas are only used by tourists and the elderly.

Oh sweet Jesus...
DD just asked me if I have a daddy, why she’s never met him.. which lead to that he died, yadda yadda. I am long past the point of crying or being sad about it, but dang girl. Not tonight.

Way too hot here for raincoats most of the year

I think he must be about 45 ish but he looks it. He is up there with Ethan Embry for aging that makes me feel super old.

Way too hot here for raincoats most of the year Usually when it rains in the NW it is 60 or below so it's not much of an issue. People buy these expensive coats that fold down into something small so they are easy to fit in a purse or map pocket in your car but are very thin and breathable. When it rains it is usually too windy for an umbrella and you get wet anyway plus the umbrella turns inside out.

Well, since I don’t live there yet, I’m a torurist this weekend. I’ll break out the umbrella if necessary, but thank you for the other tips. I’ll definitely look into those brands of raincoats (I did buy a Columbia down here).

So I’ve heard! Gotta protect my curls though. It is not the same kind of rain a lot of the time. It mists about half of the time. You will get used to it and find product that works for you, but in many situations you want that coat on top of the umbrella if you go that route.

Mine have ones that are made out of whatever plastic old school diaper covers are made of and they fold down to nothing so she keeps them in her backpack and puts them on for recess. They do outside time pretty much unless it is snowing in the NW so proper gear is essential. Columbia is the favored brand because they have outlets and do sales. Cheap boots and Pants are fine, but spend money on your coats because the cheap ones make you sweat, are too bulky and won't holdup to the rain.

We have 50-60 and rainy and then a few perfect days of sun and 70 about every 6 days. It's hard to explain to the kids because our spring is weird. Some days are 50 and rainy in the am and 70 by 4 and sunny but we do not get humid rain.

I’m drinking bourbon and watching a thunderstorm roll in. It’s delightfully morose, and now I feel better.

I’m a big fan of the Muddy Buddy one piece rain suit. I think that’s a favourite brand here, I see a lot of kids in them
