Faith woke up happy this morning, as in she was awake in her crib at 8:00 when I heard her. She was just laying there kicking in her swaddle sack and making quiet happy noises. This is the second time this has happened and it is so nice for her to not wake up screaming for food.
I could have killed DH yesterday. He left the house at 1:30 yesterday to go pick up our tax returns and to pick up a new gas can for the lawn mower. He texts me at 3:30 to tell me he was stopping by a bar (his old happy hour place across town) and would be home by 5:00. I was so angry I didn't respond (totally own that part of this shit show) and he finally walks in the door at 6:30 because "traffic". The whole time he was gone I was trying to work. I'm not allowed to be a primary caregiver to any children in the home during my work hours. I've been fudging this policy when DH has an interview or is on the phone with a recruiter so he can have a professional conversation in peace, but if I get caught I could be in serious trouble and we can't both be out of work. Of course Faith was awake and fussy most of the time he was gone so that didn't help with my frustration. I was on the phone with IT when she woke up from a cat nap SCREAMING and of course I couldn't do anything about it until I got off the phone. He did apologize but I'm still a little peeved at him.

aprilz81 ugh sorry DH left you in a bind while working. Fortunately I wasn't super busy, but there were things I needed to get finished, and it took so much longer to do simple tasks in between trying to get her to sleep, back to sleep, going to put a paci back in her mouth, pick her up, etc. Soooo much longer.

I totally understand your frustration. I fudged this policy 2x a week for 16 months because we couldn’t afford full time childcare. I think my boss knew and just turned a blind eye. It’s so hard to work with kids and I busted my ass the other days I was in the office to ensure I was still getting more than my share of work done. Hugs. But that’s not your agreement with YH and he needs to be respectful of your working hours!

Our night was kind of a hot mess, but that left baby pretty sleepy after 5:30am so I’ve managed to go for a run, shower and get ready, get all the girls ready, and pick up around the house. In a bit we’re going out to run some errands.
Baby is 3 months old today. I know it’s not accurate, but according to my scale she has only gained 7 ounces since last month. She’s about 10 pounds 9 ounces. My other girls were so much faster to gain, this is weird to me. But she’s still gaining so I guess it’s all good.

The stress of being laid off is getting to DH. He has been impatient with the baby all morning because he is trying to prepare for a virtual interview tomorrow and she won't go to sleep and a little fussy. I currently have her in my office and she is drifting off after two attempts at nursing her to sleep. His unemployment benefits got denied again for last week and we aren't sure why. He is saying outlandish things for attention and I nipped it in the bud. He never needs to say the things he was saying since they aren't true, if it was anyone else I would be worried for his mental health but I know he will be fine. So I have Faith with me to try to help him out.
Normally I'm the one stressed out about stuff like this, but I know we will be okay. We decided not to fund our ROTH IRAs for 2017 so we have that cash sitting in our account if we need it. A lot of our monthly budget was going to various savings goals (vacation, Christmas/gifts, ROTHs, general savings and of course we aren't spending $1,200/month on daycare yet) so as long as he gets his unemployment straightened out we will be able to keep our heads above water as long as we tighten our belts a little.
I can only imagine the stress of being the primary breadwinner getting laid off after having a baby... I'm trying to be as supportive as I can and when he acts like he is today then I feel guilty (which I know is silly) because I'm not doing "enough" to help. I can't find him a job, I can only take care of Faith when he has calls/interviews.

Haven't caught up yet. I have some extra gap cash - $60 off $150 if anyone wants it.
I just ordered the following for DD1 for daycare. (I am not sending her in any of her nicer clothes)
2 pairs of capri leggings 1 pair jean shorts 1 pair mint jean shorts 2 peplum tunics 3 striped tshirts 1 jean button up 1 cotton dress 1 pair of socks
And after gap cash and some rewards I paid $42! I am so proud of myself.
And now I get to go pick up the girls from their last day of school. I am preparing myself for crying and have already cried once when I called to tell the front office.

Since they are nice enough to let me have a desk on campus I feel obligatedto go in at least one morning a week. I get sooooo much more done at home so I get a bit bitter when my office mate talks to me a good hour of it. I mean I appreciate adult interaction but I only have daycare half days I HAVE to be productive.
I wouldn't be too pissed if they kicked me out because really I'm the only adjunct who has a designated office. What I would have to figure out is where to meet with students. I don't feel comfortable with confidential conversations in the campus coffee shop. Especially like the girls I caught plagiarizing last spring... some conversations need to be private. Guess I cross that bridge when I get there

Hi! Baby had a horrible time last night. She was miserable from 2am-6am before I finally got her to calm down enough to sleep. I think it's reflux. She's always crying shortly after a feed, and she's started spitting up lately. Going to make an appointment with the pediatrician. My paid leave portion of my maternity leave is over, so now I'm going unpaid. This should be interesting. I'm gonna need to take the Amazon app off my phone.

I had my 6 week postpartum check up today, had the Mirena put in and did the 2 hour glucose screening to check for diabetes.
I’m thinking DD possibly has reflux. Anyone want to share symptoms if their LO has it? Is there much a pedi can do? We don’t have an appointment until the 25th, but I could make one earlier if I really think it would be useful.

Went to a meeting at work today, felt like I had my shit together and totally rocked it while wearing V in the K'tan. Walked in the door and saw my pumped milk from this morning and instantly felt defeated. Luckily it was less than 2 oz but still, never fun. Ups and downs, I guess.

DD has silent reflux, which we just started medicating. She was eatomg alright at first, with only minor spitting up. This then changed to spit up everytime she layed down flat, so we raisrd her bed. Even woth the angled bed, she would fuss and scream in her sleep and wakeup screaming shortly after going to bed. None of this was considered to be enough to medicate for because she was still eating and gaining weight. After a few weeks of this, she stopped eating as mivh as she needed to. She would hungrily eay the first 2 oz of her bottle, and then scream if you so much as put it close to her mouth. Since she was refusing food, our dr and the nutritionist agreed that meds were now required. We started prevacid on saturday morning, bypassing Zantacon the advice of the nicu nutritionist.

As far as I can read if they are gaining well it's mostly a laundry problem. My DD1 was able to sit in tripod by 14w and unsupported by 16w so I'm really hoping O hits the same milestones early. The better control over movement of her body will make dealing with reflux much easier!

tiffbabey DS has reflux. They don't do anything for it unless it's really causing them pain- arching of their backs screaming, etc or not gaining wt. In those cases they prescribe meds. my babe just throws up his food a lot and has a lot of trouble burping. He will cry until the magical burp comes out. We improved the issue at night by having him sleep in the RnP at night. Keeping them upright is key. GL on your glucose test.

Talk to me about switching formulas...
When I had to start supplementing in the hospital they gave me Similac Pro Advance so I've stuck with that. To my knowledge she has no food sensitivities, reflux or anything else "wrong" with her digestive track.
Pro Advance is expensive and I found some samples of another brand that I would like to use to save some money, and I wouldn't be opposed to switching to a less expensive brand all together after we are out of our stash of Similac.
How bad is it to switch brands/types based on what I have on hand or what is on sale?
I'm still nursing as much as I can, but I think our days are numbered with nursing. She is starting to comfort nurse more than she eats and even though I'm home with her DH gives her a bottle if she is showing signs of hunger. She seems to eat more and faster from a bottle and it is kind of reassuring to know how much she has eaten.

aprilz81 we FF and try to stick with the same formula. Some kids have no issues switching between brands and others can be very sensitive even between the same brand but the difference of powder and liquid. My DD1 has allergies so we had to try a couple ones before finding the right fit. To transition I was always told to allow 3-7 full days of the new formula before judging if it agrees or not. If the different reactions (screaming, spitting, poop etc) keep up after that time then it might not be the best fit. Again every kid is different 🤷🏻♀️

Baby took a long afternoon nap that overlapped with DD3s quiet time. So I was feeling like a badass getting stuff done. Until I went to wake DD3. Apparently I wasn’t paying good enough attention to the monitor because she colored all over her door, play table, bedding and self with hot pink marker. When she snuck a marker in her room is beyond me. I need a lot of margaritas and magic erasers. And bleach.

Oh no ajetter, but at least it wasn't poop! My sisters twins both pooped during their nap one day (in different rooms on opposite ends of the 2nd floor) and they both decided to take their diaper off and smear it everywhere. It was in the carpet, bedding, walls... No fun. Not that getting marker of is fun either, but at least it isn't poop! Faith is FINALLY getting a good nap in, I hope this doesn't set us up for disaster tonight. She dozed in the RnP from 3-4ish was awake for a little bit then DH stretched out on the couch with her on his chest and she feel into a deep sleep. She is currently in the PnP while I straighten up the 2nd floor. MIL is coming for a visit tomorrow and I don't want the house to be a disaster.

I got a call from my endocrinologist but didn’t answer, because I didn’t recognize the number. I was terrified it was because my glucose number showed I was diabetic, but I was able to get ahold of someone even though it was after hours. I am not diabetic! Thank goodness! But my fasting number was super low, 48, so they wanted to make sure I was feeling okay.
