This is basically what I need to be doing 24/7 after all the eating and drinking I've done the last couple weeks.

TW*******
The middle school across from my house is sending all of the students home. There was an instagram post made over the weekend threatening to shoot up the school today. They knew about it yesterday and have been investigating.
WTF is wrong with people?

tgrimes, like mwhip said, I am terrified if we don't find a way to stop this. What is it going to be like for our kids?!? I just can't even imagine. And the conversations that we will have to have with them at such a young age. It's just awful.

it must be dentist day; I've got an appointment later for two filling replacements. Boooo. And I've booked B's appointments for his caps and fillings starting next week, hopefully it'll be alright Hope B will do great. Do you know what they will do to relax him? M was ok for his. I think they gave him laughing gas to relax him. He had a filling come out recently and they had to put a cap on it. I wasn't thrilled, but that tooth will come out eventually.

wineallthetime Great news!! Hope you guys bust out real soon! tgrimes Awful. The week after the FL school shooting, two separate incidents happened at the same school here. A threat was made on social media and the next morning, the police were waiting at the school to arrest the 12/13 yr old. I was wondering why they didn't show up at the kids home first thing in the morning before she had time to go to school. Something similar happened a few days after the first incident. It scares me of what's to come for our littles.

I opted for the laughing gas over the general anesthesia at a surgery center. He needs about 2 hours of dental work, so I made two appointments. He has fillings between two teeth in a couple spots, and quite a few caps. Maybe I'll sniff some laughing gas to calm myself, too.

Morning!
I've been mostly MIA the last few days. It was a strange end of the week at work and a busy, but productive weekend. I feel good going into this week. I worked out twice last week, made some progress on things I've been procrastinating on around the house, and I started Dave Ramsey's TMM last week. I've been obsessed ever since. If I'm not reading the book, I'm listening to his podcast. At the beginning of the year, I set a goal to get my student loan paid off. I've been doing a good job at throwing money at it, and now I'm extra motivated. I even set a new goal because I realized I can get it paid off sooner. Feels good to have a plan in place.

Hi all. We ended up getting j and I new New balances yesterday with a huge strip of Velcro that should survive better than his Nikes with the little patch. I forgot how fun it is as a kid to wear new shoes out of the store, he was thrilled. Definitely need to do that instead of ordering everything online. Mh seemed in hell shopping with both kids, but I thought it was kind of fun.
N didn't sleep last night, so I'm dragging. 10 days until Mexico, the countdown is on.

I think a lot of these kids just do not realize how serious this kind of thing is. There have been a couple bomb threats at my cousins' high school in the last year or two. Nothing legit, just kids trying to get out of a test or acting on a dare, but obviously the school has to be shut down while police/dogs search, etc. My aunt was saying the principal said it costs $25K for the police/fire-rescue presence each time something like that happens. I don't know what the answer is but I'm not opposed to a kid getting arrested for it, and I wonder if parents got stuck with the bill if some of these fake threats would dissipate somewhat. (eta: obviously this does not solve the issue of *actual* shootings, etc.)

I've seen some posts about charging parents fees when their kid gets in trouble for bullying.

Update on work: I've done nothing today. Although, I did enter a picture of Cadence in a bluebonnet contest that the local news station is doing. it's one from 2 years ago, I thought it came out the best. I did like last year's though.
