Sunny41 How are the cats getting along? They are getting along pretty good. Not best friends. They play fight a lot and Shadow still asserts her dominance daily with hisses and growls. But Olive likes to go in and interrupt bathroom time so she deserves it. THey don't mind using the same box and they both eat off the others plate without a fight. MH and I were just discussing the opposite personalities they have. how is your new cat? Is she still weaning babies? When do you get to bring her home?

She is getting spayed on the 10th and then we'll bring her home a few days later. Her foster mom sent us a picture not too long ago.

She's gorgeous, klong11! I'm still trying to decide if I want to get another cat. It's been 9 months since Pico died. I miss him so much, but I can't say I miss the litter box.

I wasn't planning on getting one so soon, but something about her just caught my eye. The rescue is happy because they say so many mommy cats get left behind after their babies are adopted. Everyone wants kittens. Shes only a year, so she's practically a baby herself.

She's adorable klong11! Evie keeps saying she wants a cat, we look at the adoptions held at Petco and Petsmart occasionally. I'm hoping one day, H will see one that he falls in love with and lets us adopt. My old dog has been around a cat, but our younger dog never has. But I think they would both do fine.

cagoldi how was your first night home with 3 kids? Hope it went well! Girl. It was rough. X is so easy-going but he had a hard time. He walked over to me holding her, was puzzled and literally scratched his head, then had this expression like it suddenly hit him "Mom has a new baby!" He looked back and forth at me and Poppy with a panicked face then bawled. It was so pitiful. At one point I was changing P, and comforting X on my lap, as Atticus came out of the bathroom asking me to wipe him. All I could do was laugh. I wish I were an octopus. And, I got about four hours of broken sleep. I forgot about those grunts and snorts they do all night long. Newborns are noisy!

You are describing basically exactly how Maggie acted with Benjamin. Poor guy; it's rough. And yes, so grunty, those babies. When I took Ben to Buffalo when he was 5 weeks old, I was by myself so I had to sleep with my processor in so I could hear him. I hardly got any sleep for 5 days because of all his noises.

Yeah, he's 19 months and I think Maggie and Ben are about 20 months apart, right? That's actually the first thing I thought, it sounded a lot like what you described when Ben first came home. Dude is obsessed. Kissing her and checking on her every thirty seconds. I had them wash their hands when they got home from school and Dude busted in the door and was so excited. I could hear him demanding to see her from upstairs. "Where's my sister?! I need to see Persephone!" So cute.

cagoldi you will find your inner octopus. I remember one of my first outings with 3 kids. We went to CVS because DD's asthma was acting up and I couldn't find her inhaler. I'm in the parking lot, attempting to get all the kids out of the car. DD is wheezing, the baby had spit up all over himself, and DS1 had a bloody nose. A woman pulls up next to me and I'm thinking, maybe she will help but really she wanted directions to AC Moore. In a crowded shopping center, she decided I was the best person to help her with her problem.

Yeah, 19.5 to be precise, cagoldi. Can he help with bottles? Feeding was always the worst time for Maggie.

I'm at work. H's temp was 99.5 so I dosed him and sent him to daycare.
It's his first day in the new room and the regular teacher isn't there. He started sobbing as soon as M & I left his room. Poor guy. I dropped M off at her class and went back to check on him. I didn't even make it down the hallway before I heard his old teacher say, "I hope Ms. Nancy knows I'm not going to let H cry that long. That's right. I'm going to go get him and bring him back over here. Nope. I'm not gonna let my H cry like that."
They didn't even know I was in the hallway so its not like they said it for my benefit or anything. So I guess I shouldn't worry. Lol.

Work will hopefully be mellow today because I want to finish an essay I have due for class next week. I work this weekend and have class next. It's a pro and a con that I work in "the Palm Springs of Washington" this weekend. 3-hr drive one-way with dumpy accommodations, but I don't have to deal with all the BS and nonsense that I would have to over here including standing around with nothing to do but not being released. I hope to get out early Sunday to start my drive back home.

Morning! I'm sitting in pick-up, which is my HIH time. Evie had ballet this morning and then we had some time to kill and grabbed donuts from the local donut shop. Yumyumyum.
I wasn't feeling well last night and now I am paranoid about going into early labor, you guys! I already had this weird feeling that my H isn't going to be here when the baby is born. Then he had to book a business trip 2 weeks before I'm due which made it worse! Hormones, man.

I think I told you guys that SD organized the walkout at her school in response to the Parkland shooting/gun violence. Well we found out late last week that she will be meeting with a local representative and possibly a state rep to discuss the next steps. Pretty proud of her and proud of the state reps to meet with them on this topic. I think the "next step" is so important on this one because it is so tricky.

Both boys did amazing for their hair cuts. Normally they sit on my lap and it takes forever but they sat by themselves and were so good. A few more errands and hoping the boys car nap. I need to clean out our freezer since it's 55 today. Temp drops tonight and expecting more snow.

I’ve had a few teachers that have loved my kids like that and it just is the best Both M & H love those teachers in the infant room. When I picked up M yesterday, one of his teachers was still there. He saw her when we walked by the room and he about jumped out of my arms reaching for her. She came and got him from me while I got M's things and I let him play with her for a bit. He didn't want to come back home with me. Up until last summer, I had to drop M off in the baby room in the mornings because she refused to go to her class. She HAD to stay with Ms. Ida for an hour or so before going to her own room. Daycare always jokes that Ida was her first word.

Our home inspection is in 10 minutes. Hopefully all will go well! I might have missed this already, but what's y'all's timeline for moving? At some point this summer. MH’s work is leaving him hanging about what is happening. We *think* he is going to Iraq now. He will be home next week for a few days and then go to training in North Carolina. The ideal situation is that he would go to Iraq to complete his current rotation which would be like a month left. Then he would be home at the perfect time to move us. The last day of school is May 25th so any time after that we will be ready to go. .... I need him here to help me pack or I’m just burning everything in the backyard lol. I don’t feel like we have that much stuff but we totally do once you start packing it up.

+1 for daycare teacher love. One just got back from vacation and brought back gifts for her favorites (n included of course). She also has Facebook and Instagram friended me. I don't mind paying an arm and a leg when they clearly adore your kid.
I think this is why I'm scared of Elementary school, the individual attention is just not the same.
