Spotting stopped yesterday evening, yay! I've been looking more into this retroverted uterus thing and it explains some things, like the constipation I've been having. And it's totally common for retroverted uteruses to feel small because they're leaning toward the back and hard to feel from the front. I'm glad the spotting stopped! And thank you for posting this. Mine is tilted and that may explain some things. I think my cervix is pointed more towards my back?

Mine is tilted and that may explain some things. I think my cervix is pointed more towards my back? Apparently it's common, something like 20% of women have a retroverted or tilted uterus. It can cause constipation, trouble emptying your bladder, sciatic pain (which I am having much earlier this pregnancy), takes longer to show (although I had a gut to begin with lol), more difficult to palpitate and can make it harder to find on doppler. My cervix is also high, the midwife always has to shove her fingers up there pretty far to feel it, which makes exams so fun... I believe most of them go back into place as they grow, like 14-15 weeks.

When is your due date? How far along are you? I *believe* it's 11/27. I'll know for sure when I get my US.
How big is baby?
The size of a rainbow sprinkle.
Team Finding Out / Team Green?
Finding out.
Any Upcoming Appointments?
April 16th will be my check in with the OB and ultrasound.
Symptoms:
Headache, downright bitchiness, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, occasionally slightly tender boobs
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions?
Do any of you have experience with SSRIs during pregnancy? I went on Celexa after DD was born for PPD/PPA. And it worked BEAUTIFULLY. After finding out I was pregnant again, my doctor suggested weaning from it while pregnant. And I've done so...but my anxiety has been a 12. Also, I've been superbitch. They should make me a cape.
I'm debating going back on, even a tiny dose, but I'm really worried about side effects for the baby. Does anyone have experience with this?

I was on Zoloft for PPA/PPD after DS, but when I’m pregnant I go off it. I have a little more anxiety, but I usually level off around 8-10wks, and feel fine for the rest of my pregnancy. If you’re having that bad of anxiety, I would definitely talk to your dr. It might make sense to be on a low dose of an SSRI that’s ok for use during pregnancy. I hope you’re able to get some help! Hugs.

sapatos, I have not, but my best friend was on Zoloft during her last pregnancy at the recommendation of her doctor. Infant Risk Center (an awesome resource from Texas Tech for information on drugs and pregnancy/breastfeeding) has a page on Antidepressant use during pregnancy. They list Paxil and Zoloft as having the lowest transfer in utero (Celexa is on the higher side). prolonged untreated depression and anxiety can have effects on the baby, too, if you're don't level out I would talk to your doctor about what your options are. There is a small risk with SSRI use, but the benefit can outweigh the risk. You can also talk to the Infant Risk hotline (it's free) and they can give you more detailed info and recommendations. www.infantrisk.com/content/antidepressant-usage-during-pregnancy-and-breastfeeding

I love my OB,but I almost cried today when she told me no Zantac for the time being. I’ve dealt with heartburn for years and Zantac is the only thing that helps. My last OB was fine with it so I don’t know what’s changed.

Am I crazy to not understand how to "release" the labia? Do they mean ...spread? 🙈

When is your due date? How far along are you? Nov 6, 9w/3d
How big is baby? Southern Pecan
Team Finding Out / Team Green? Finding out.
Any Upcoming Appointments? NT scan April 25th
Symptoms: during my prenatal screening stuff they found I had a UTI. Treated that for a week and then bam, now dealing with a yeast infection. It is the worst. And the Monestat treatment says apply cream even when masturbating. Who masturbates when their vagina is a raging mad fire pit?! No thank you.
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? Still feel so very tired all the time.

Dr. Cox that’s kinda weird, as my Ob just ordered me to take extra strength Zantac (150mg) 2x/day. It was that or I couldn’t stomach food lol.

Ok, yes, I also have always just peed in the cup no problemo. But Dramaphile is right about what the sign was referencing. To reduce bacteria, I guess, but I always shower shortly before going to the OB so 🤷🏻♀️. I felt like the sign made it much harder than it needs to be.

I think it's to get a clean catch sample? Maybe more if they are testing for UTI? It keeps the bacteria from your vulva from getting in the pee cup. I know I've had to do it at the doctor's (although not at my last appointment), where you wipe with a towelette thing and then try to pee without it touching your labia and have to catch it midstream and thus pee all over your hand in the process.

So had to redo it lol.

If the Pepcid doesn’t work, I’m tempted to just take the Zantac anyway.

Does anyone have experience with this? sapatos I had extreme anxiety, practically debilitating, with my first, and equally terrible PPA that went completely undiagnosed and untreated after she was born. I have since gone on medication and like you, it worked beautifully. It was like “is this how normal people feel all the time?!” Lol. I met with my new OB really early simply to discuss my medication options, because living through another pregnancy that way just isn’t an option for me this time. She’s keeping me on a low dose of Prozac because the benefits outweigh the risks in my case. And from what I understand, risks are relatively low to begin with (but talk to a doctor about that because I’m not one.) Hugs. Anxiety is a beast. I will say, this pregnancy has been night and day different thanks to the medication and I am SO glad for it.

Omg I remember my one and only experience with monistat when I was pregnant with N. It was like pouring hot acid into my vagina. It hurt like a god damn hell fire and I stopped immediately because I like myself and felt terrible for my Virginia.

I started having a little blood tinged discharge especially after a bm (sorry tmi). Anyone experience this? I am seven weeks today, still not having many symptoms. I am feeling pretty down, trying to stay hopeful but I broke down this AM and told DH I don’t think things are going to last. I don’t have an appointment until the 17th, the waiting and uncertainty is getting to me. Sorry for the downer post.

Could you call your doctor and see if they can get you in sooner for an ultrasound? I know it’s the weekend and the waiting is difficult, but I would at least try that because by seven weeks they should be able to see something. FX your just a lucky one that has no symptoms.

Especially with the discharge, I second calling to try for an earlier appt. 7 weeks was when I went for my inital dating u/s. I hope it goes away over the weekend.

It lasted on and off for just over a week. I also had this with my son at about 8 weeks. I mentioned it to my midwife and she said that it can be normal. Hopefully it slows down for you!

I talked to my friend, who’s a pharmacist, and she’s diagnosed me with HG. 😭😭😭 I mean, I already knew it in the back of my mind, and when I’m bent over a toilet, but I hate actually having it verified by someone. I’m on phenergan, b6, unisom, & meclizine, and I’m still throwing up multiple times a day, and so nauseated most days I can barely function. How am I supposed to work? Last pregnancy I worked at Starbucks, and everything was so ingrained in me, that I could do it without really having to think. Now I’m a faculty librarian, and I have a TON of stuff to do this quarter. I NEED to be able to think. 😭😭😭 PLUS, I’m having a hard time doing anything with DS. I feel horrible. Today he ended up peeing his pants because I was vomiting in the toilet upstairs where we were, and he didn’t get downstairs in time to use that bathroom. 😰 I just have no energy for anything.
Sorry, I just needed to get that out. No one IRL understands how bad it is.
