Tlex That's awesome! So much luck to you!!! And you might be my oposite in terms of cycle length. I would have had about 6 cycles in the time it took you to conceive your D:) That sounds super frustrating too!

sammysam, I'm sorry about CD1. I know you weren't hopeful but I was for you. Tlex, fantastic! Lots of positive baby making thoughts heading your way! So the result of my blood test was unexpected. I have low platelets, so they don't want me to take iron. I need to go back for a repeat blood test in a fortnight to see whether they're still low, and if they are they will start investigations. Low platelets can be caused by anything from a virus, through auto-immune diseases, to leukaemia. So I'm trying not to spiral on Google. Even if it is something horrible, we've caught it quickly. I have a period every few weeks and although they're usually miserable, this is the first time for a long time that I've been completely flattened.

purple I'm so sorry it wasn't the news you were expecting but I'm so glad you went to the doctor and that they're going to figure it out. Hopefully it's just a virus and will pass quickly. FWIW I am celiac...which is an auto immune disorder. It can affect fertility but as long as I am strict with my diet it usually isn't that big a deal. Thinking of you and hoping you get some answers quickly and that they are what you want to hear.

purple, I'm so glad you went to the doctor to investigate. I have everything crossed for you that when you go back they have resolved.

Age of LO(s): 5.5
Month/Cycle: 5/4
CD/DPO: CD7
Timing: NA
RRCS: AF was very weird, the first day was just spotting and then the next was super heavy and then everyday after that was light. I'm really hoping that my cycles don't go as long as this past month. But I am not going to be taking pregnancy tests early this month. I can't keep doing it to myself. So I will be starting OPKs this weekend, or should I start on CD10?

remi How long is your cycle normally? I would start on CD 10 this cycle anyways. If you're anything like me a long cycle is always followed by a short one. My fertility monitor has me start them on CD 6 every month but when I was using OPKs only I usually started on CD 7 or 8 (but my cycles are short and I O early). Also I'm with you in terms of early testing. I am testing 12 dpo this cycle. I like taking hpts but I drive myself crazy trying to see a line after even if there is obviously nothing there.

Before TTC they were an average of 29-30 days, but they've been creeping up since we started at the end of November.
What DPO are you right now?

remi you could probably start a few days later with the OPKs in that case...but starting a bit earlier makes sure you don't miss your surge on wonky cycles. If you're good at reading your body's signs then you can can start a little later because you'll probably have an idea when the tests will turn positive anyways. I'm 5 dpo today. We're starting EOD on CD 9...I'll probably get my +OPK on the weekend. ETA CD 5 not 5 DPO. My brain is obviously still asleep.

Last month I got EWCM 4 days before my positive OPK. So I thought I knew when I was at least gearing up, but I'm not as good as I once thought. I should probably start temping too. What thermometer do ya'll have?

remi I meant CD 5 not 5 dpo. I'll likely O over the weekend or early next week. Usually between CD 10 and 13 for me. I have an iproven thermometer. I like it. Mine is backlight and doesn't beep. I know a lot of people use the Walmart one too. I'm not sure of the brand. Mabis maybe? ETA I'm the one who needed coffee. Not 5 dpo...CD5. Sorry!

Age of LO(s): 5.5
Month/Cycle: 18?/?
CD/DPO: 19/4
Timing: -4, -1, then we both got sick and I was too tired and grumpy to try again. I hate that an illness can hit at exactly the right time to kill a cycle.
RRCS: I don’t think we have much of a chance this cycle. I’m taking a month off from fertility drugs, and with H’s low sperm count, we need more than one shot at things.
Much love to everyone on the recent CD1’s. I think we’re overdue for a BFP in here and I hope that means there are several coming.

remi I feel so much better temping. It gives me a better idea when I O for sure so we don't stop trying too early each cycle. And it makes me feel like I'm actively doing something all cycle long.

I bought some opks last month after not using them for a while. Unlike many of you here, I don't like peeing on things, but I want to get a better idea of when I actually O. However, this is FW and I'm still not well, to the extent that H has taken tomorrow off work so that I can rest. And, of course, the longer it takes to feel better, the more concerned I am that it's something serious.

purple I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. When do you go back to the doctor? I'm glad your H is taking some time off to let you get some rest. I hope you start feeling better soon.
