Good luck charlotte and @brienne. I cannot wait to tell my kids. They’ve been asking for a baby for a while, but I can’t risk either of them telling people (especially their grandparents) so I’m just biting my tongue for the next 8 weeks or so. That should be fun 👎🏻. That’s how we are too. DS has been asking for a sibling for 2yrs now, but we aren’t going to tell him until 12ish wks because we know he’ll blab it to everyone if he knows now. 😂 Yep exactly! We aren’t going to tell DD until we’re ready for everyone else to know. So excited to tell her though! She’s obsessed with her baby doll and her friends’ baby siblings right now.

I had my financial/family history intake appointment today. The nurse I met with was Judgey McJudgerson, so needless to say we did not click. I wanted to make sure my hospital hadn’t changed to baby-friendly and that resulted in a 20 minute lecture on the importance of nursing and rooming in and how sending my baby to the nursery would seriously deprive him/her of bonding time.
I’m pretty sure I outwardly rolled my eyes and said, “Cool, now about my deductible...”

I didn’t realize my hospital changed between my first and second kids so when I asked the nurse to take my DD for an hour overnight so she would get off my boob I got that lecture too. My response was something along the lines of, “isn’t she due for a heel prick anyway...so please just keep her a little longer.” We bonded just fine even though she was out of my sight for an hour, so yeah. I hate that crap.

Has anybody here had gallbladder issues either while pregnant or not?

I hate that crap. Hospitals where I'm at don't have nurserys. Baby just stayed in a bassinet beside me. All heel pricks and test were done bedside. I had a csection so it was so painful to lift ds in and out of the bassinet. My H stayed until midnight but i was alone overnight. The nurses did help me with some diaper changes and some swaddling which was nice. I would have been thrilled for a 1 hour break overnight to get in a quick nap. I got zero sleep at the hospital.

mikaela20 that sucks. I’m glad they at least took the baby for her heel pricks and hearing tests. I truly don’t understand the philosophy behind the baby not being able to leave your side for an hour or two. I mean, my husband was there, but it’s not like he can pace the halls to try and get the baby to stop screaming. I’m not even sure I’ll have my husband stay the night this go around. Maybe if I send him to get some rest he’ll give me a good nap when we get home from the hospital.

I begged them to take my baby to the nursery and to keep him up there as long as they could after his bath. I was dead tired, & he would not lay in the bassinet without crying. So I had to hold him 24/7 and just force myself to stay awake. They were willing to take him up between nursing sessions when I asked, though.
This time around MH won’t be there overnight so I hope this new hospital will let me send the baby up so that I can nap.

Yesterday was crazy. We went to my mom’s for easter brunch. We planned to tell my brother and my SIL the news, they have a son who is about a year younger than mine. My mom was making cocktails and we were all in the kitchen and asked my SIL if she wanted one. My brother was like “I’ll have hers, she’s my designated driver for the next 8 months.”
I got it right away. My mom was super confused. I started shrieking and before I knew it I was like “ holy shit guys I am pregnant too!!” My brother then screams “I KNEW IT!” And then my SIL and I and my mom were jumping up and down like idiots. Lol.
We are due 2-3 weeks apart. My mom’s face when she realized she was going from 2-4 grandkids was something I will never ever ever forget.

Yesterday we facetimed my family during their Easter gathering (I live across the country from them) and told them the news. Everyone was excited, my sister is due Sept 1, so they'll get two more grandkids within two months. Our daughters are 6 months apart, I love that our kids will both be close in age to their cousins. My parents joked we were messing up their travel plans for the fall. We need to make plans on how we're going to announce to the rest of our friends on facebook in a couple of weeks

I have been picking up and organizing things from Easter all morning, and just sat down and realized I should take DD to the bathroom but I don't want to get back up. Sigh.
I also unloaded the dishwasher and a plastic lid fell to the bottom and melted onto it. So....cool. I'm just going to leave that for H to deal with.

I’m working from home today. My ms is getting worse, and I just can’t do the hour long commute.

I’m working from home today. My ms is getting worse, and I just can’t do the hour long commute. That's a long commute! There were several times I had to pull over and throw up on the side of the road when I was pregnant with my daughter. 😷 not my finest moments but sometimes it came on so suddenly I couldn't do anything about it.

Last time I kept a small trashcan in my car just for MS needs. This time I'm a lot less, ah, active, so I haven't needed it.

Seriously!! Come on H. At least let them get tamiflu proactively if you do have the flu so they hopefully don’t get it! Geez! Men.

I was like dude do I have to spell this out for you? At first I thought maybe I am being OTT - but like yeah if you have the flu, I am staying at my mom's with the kid for a few days until you're better.
DNW the flu while pregnant. K THANKS.

I hope he doesn’t for your sake. If he does ask for the preventative tamiflu for you and your DS. It might not save you from it, but it should be more tolerable. I got the flu first in our house this year and it was terrible, but my kids flu lasted like 2 days because of the preventative and my H didn’t even get it. Also, invest in some Lysol because DNW. Good luck.

Ugh. Hope it’s not the flu or that you are spared (preferably both!)

Thanks ladies. And thank goodness he doesn’t have the flu, just some weird virus. I’m still staying away. I’m just glad he got his butt up and went to urgent care so we knew for sure. Because duh.

Are anyone else’s hips already hurting? I’m not even 8 weeks yet FFS! I've been having hip soreness for weeks (I'm 9.5), and now if I stay on my feet too long, my hip/leg gets sore and stiff. So glad to be getting all this stuff even earlier this time...

Are anyone else’s hips already hurting? I’m not even 8 weeks yet FFS! I am just about 5 weeks but I already have weird aches and pains. Sometimes it's really bad gas, though. I tell my husband I feel like a farting flotation device with giant boobs, just going through the motions of life.

I love this imagery. From this point forward you will be a farting flotation device in my head. 😂
