dapostrophe @finnaroo was asking about where you went on fb. I told her you were taking a break and I messaged her and told her a little of what’s going on. I hope that’s ok. Why did finnaroo quit coming here? It’s hard when people go from posting constantly to... nothing. At least wean us if you’re gonna quit. (This goes to all posters who were regs then ghosted, not just Finn).

ETA: I also don’t like when people ghost. wedding and I talked about that a bit when we were in Omaha a few weeks ago.

Also, late Hi! I have not gotten caught up today. I was running around doing errands and cleaning. My mom is coming tomorrow and I wanted to have everything done since we are leaving for our trip on Monday. Everything takes me so much longer to do while carrying this bowling ball around and I get tired out so quickly. Can't wait to have my body back!

I bet the kids are so excited to see her.

What a freaking day. I am happy for the weekend except I have a seriously long run scheduled tomorrow and our families coming by tomorrow to celebrate Chase's birthday. I just want a quiet weekend!!

Her Easter dress and the dress she was going to wear to the egg hunt tomorrow. It's not a super important outfit for tomorrow, I just don't like being told a delivery date then it not get delivered. Plus, I had the outfit in my head and I dont deal well with last minute changes. Is there an H&M in Austin? Yeah, but the website doesn't say if it is in stock there or not. In the past what I'm looking for is never there, so I'm just going to have her wear something else.

Guys I’m so mad at myself. We went to the target on the other side of town and it’s super windy today. I always get H in the car first because she’s loose and S is in the cart. Because it was so windy I shut the door right away, put S in the car, put my purchases in the car and put the cart away. I got in and drove off, including driving on the interstate only for H to tell me after I got off at my exit that I never buckled her. This is only like the 2nd or 3rd time I forgot to buckle her but in the past she tells me as soon as I start driving, I don’t know why she didn’t this time. I super thankful I didn’t get in a car accident today. I did this once when C was a baby. I had him in his stroller with a blanket on. We got to the car and I just put his carseat right in the car without remembering he wasn't buckled. C buckles himself now, but once or twice I've forgotten to double check that it was tight enough. Oops! Well nothing is as bad as the time mh put j in the car before a trip to NJ...we arrive and only the top is clipped. So we had 4 hours of highway driving at night with an unbuckled toddler in the car. 😳

TBH, I am equal parts looking forward to it and apprehensive, but it's such a short time that I think it will be fine.

Is anyone else’s 4 year old being absolutely awful lately? H doesn’t listen at all, I have to repeat myself 700 times before I get mad and yell at her to do whatever it was that I was asking her. She gets into things all the time that she knows she’s not supposed to. Like seriously I can’t even trust her to go to the bathroom alone anymore because she was using the air freshener spray (which I thought was out of her reach) as a window cleaner spray along with many other things she shouldn’t be doing. I am so fed up and frustrated.

Without kids, I can do it in 9. With kids and dog, 10-11. I mean, I did VA to ME last summer, which was almost 16, but C was younger and slept a lot. She is my wildcard; B and the dog are no problem. I know I'm crazy.

Funny you mention the air freshener; I gave B permission to do a couple sprays the other day and he did the bathroom mirrors What is the fascination with the air freshener?? We have our moments around here; the not-listening is one of the behaviors we targeted with our '3 strikes' chart. I think this is the age where they really start pushing boundaries to find out what they can get away with.

The thing is that she always tells me “I’m so sorry mommy!” Whenever I scold her but then does it again. I explained to her that her actions show she’s sorry, not her words. Not sure if she totally got it though.

C gets a little more ornery so I guess we'll find out how she does next week. Y'all pray for me. Trying to fly out of this area is tough--small airport with limited connections, so everything is $$$$. Much easier when we were in KC or back home. We thought about flying to Jax this trip b/c we could hop on a military flight, but we're planning to stop at my ILs' on the way back so we need the flexibility of having our own car.

I don’t think I ever really checked in today. S woke with a 102 fever, coughing and snotty. So on my first week back to work I had to text my boss and ask if I could WFH since MH had a meeting he had to be at. So S watched lots of TV today while I worked on hiring and trying to close out my travel paperwork from a few weeks ago.

trtlcrzy yes! And the tantrums have started again. She questions everything and if we tell her no, she tells us we are mean and she hates us. She also has been crying at the drop of a hat for absolutely no reason.

+1. I don't even want to drive that far without the kids. Lol, I used to do the drive solo to college by myself - 9 hours exactly. And I'd time my meals around Ohio bc the rest stops had Panera before they went Nationwide. Gosh, I'm old.

trtlcrzy I had reports from school the last few days about E not listening and not using gentle hands. There has been a lot of candy thrown away today.
