Morning! My ankle was looking better when I woke up but now that I've been up and about making breakfast, etc. the swelling and pain are coming back. Yay. B is begging to go to this giant indoor playground thing, so we might do that. This kid is such an opportunist, as soon as I woke up, he was like, "Mom, it's raining, and Funville is for rainy days, right?" Speaking of outings, DC-area ladies, or anyone more familiar with it than I am, we have planned an impromptu getaway up there this weekend. We're just trying to hit the highlights with the kids. We were thinking Air and Space museum for B, and one other...either the Natural History (this is where the dinosaurs are, right?) or maybe American History? Which would be better, do you think? Eek crazy weekend to go to the mall with the March for Our lives being Saturday on the mall.. I'd recommend the air and space Hazy center Saturday (near Dulles airport) and then Sunday the Natural History is great - or the American history has a children's museum portion, but we haven't made it there yet. I think either would be fun Let me know what you decide, we have family in town so will be hitting some sites too!

Morning. I’m sad today. Ol Pejeta Conservancy reported that Sudan, the last male northern white rhino died yesterday. Congratulations human race, we’ve wiped out another beautiful animal. I saw this too. How sad.🙁

Now they are investigating another package at another Fedex facility near the airport. Ugh.

Take some ibuprofen and ice your ankle to take down the swelling.

Has anyone tried the Raddish Kids meal kits? I'm wondering if it would make Cadence expand her horizons on foods she will eat if she has a part in making it.

Hey! MIL is picking up both girls in an hour to take them to a play group thing. While they’re gone I’m going to return some things at the mall and probably go to target for the rest of the Easter stuff while I’m alone. This afternoon H has school and I have another chiro appt. I was going to see if I could reschedule to this morning but decided I’d rather do other things instead. It didn’t end up snowing until MOTN and it’s still lightly snowing now. I’d guess we have maybe an inch so hopefully it melts fast. Happy first day of spring!

Although I feel like there's some sort of rally/march/protest/what-have-you practically every weekend in DC, lol. We can't go in April, May and June are tricky with DH's schedule, and then summer up there is miserable IMO so this is kind of our last shot. Oh well, we will just make the best of it! eta: looks like it's happening on Pennsylvania and not actually on the mall, so maybe we'll be ok. This time of year, I just expect it to be busy with spring break, etc.

So sad vino... I do wonder if they froze any male sperm or something to make an effort to help. But I guess they would have done that already. nam2013 he will be home April 5th for a few days and then will go to training for a few days. So it was a short one this time. We are going to go to Florida to hopefully find a house when he is here. Is A back up to his birth weight yet wineallthetime?

sands42, no he had a couple days staying at the same weight and then he lost weight yesterday. They upped his feedings yesterday so hopefully he's up a bit when they weigh him today!

Morning.
OB appointment in a few minutes. Both kids were angels getting ready for school tomorrow. Must be a full moon.
It's my sister's birthday so I'm going to pop into her work and surprise her with lunch.

Just went to deliver a file the attorney said he needed in a hurry. He's in his office watching naked ladies. WTF, dude? I didn't go in. I brought the file back down and gave it to the receptionist to deal with.
Same attorney decided he wasn't retiring at the end of the month like originally planned. My guess is because he can't watch naked ladies all day at home like he does here.

Morning. vino Sad indeed. klong11 I wish they catch whoever is behind these explosions. Everyone in the area must be so stressed. I stopped for a donut this morning before work, so my day started good. I have not made any purchases for Easter yet. I'm usually on top of this, but for some reason, I'm procrastinating this year. I need to go to Target today to get the filler for Easter eggs for the egg hunt at M's school this Friday. I'll probably grab some goodies for the boys baskets, too.

Weird scene in the waiting room. This STM came in and her older son (3?) dumped out a bag of about 20 Hot Wheels right on the middle of the floor. She didn't ask him to pick them up and choose a purple, or move them to a corner, etc. Her son is now whining for her to play with him and she is ignoring him while she leads through a magazine and nobody can sign in without having to step around a pile of toys.
Strange.

Our handyman was here today fixing little things to get ready for the sale, and I asked him to take some things out of our attic --we never go up there, thr stuff has been there for 10 years plus. It's a ton of things from my childhood including this gem that I am pretty sure only vino and lfig will recognize:

Got an email from the dc letting us know what will occur if they have to evacuate, where they will take the kids, etc. They also said they won't be accepting packages until further notice and the kids won't be playing outside just in case there is something left on the playground. That's just great. My kid is going to be in a shit mood when she finds out they are no longer allowed to play outside.

Lol at that shirt guster ! Sorry you have to start more appts earlier cagoldi . Sorry for snow everyone still getting it now that it's officially spring. yummeecookee I had a dream that we met up. For some reason it was at an airport and you switched a layover to meet up for me but there was a luggage fiasco and some sort of Stephen King horror angle to it. Maybe we were in the story The Langoliers? I loved that mini series because I'm a SK geek but I'm guessing most haven't seen it. Despite the stress, you looked lovely and I still enjoyed meeting you. klong11 , I hope they catch that creep soon. So scary.

I had a great weekend. First bit of time off in almost a month. I was becoming a depressive bitch without it. The weather was supposed to be rainy and crappy but it was beautiful. Very busy but still fun. We took the girls roller skating and Cass is a natural. She was taking off on her own and doing great.
I hope to get some plants potted tonight because it's supposed to start raining tomorrow. We rearranged our furniture in the main living area last night and I think a very simple change will make it a much more useable space.

I am constantly giving a WTF face to your posts, klong11. I'm sorry. They really need to catch this guy. Enjoy the snuggles and take-out, wineallthetime!! Sounds like heaven. Sorry you're facing the extra testing earlier than expected, cagoldi. Things I do NOT miss about being pregnant...

Cass has been proud of herself for learning "English" (she thinks it's a different language). She told MH, "'Ohh la la' is English for 'I'm going to marry you.'"

Hi all, trying to get a lot done today with the impending snow storm...and we need a sled asap since we haven't had real snow in years. And we actually need milk and bread! Granted we can walk to the store as needed.
I went to a lunch seminar and Deborah Tannen was talking about her new book "you are the only one I can tell: inside the language of women's friendships". It was super interesting and made me think of you all. I wasn't early enough to get a free copy of the book, but def interested in reading it.

I’m home now. The roads were starting to resemble a free for all, with everyone trying to get out of work, so I wanted to get a move on before rush hour really started up. I doubt I’ll be going into the office tmrw. When I walked in the house, mh had 3 bottles of wine sitting on the counter. I love him.

That’s really depressing klong11. It’s totally bringing back flashback memories of the DC sniper that tallb mentioned in yday’s thread. Just that feeling of unease and always having to watch yourself. I hope authorities can find whoever is doing this soon!

My mom worked for one of the agencies involved with the sniper case and spent a month out there on a detail working on the case. It was scary, I was pretty much glued to the news that whole month and worried sick.
