Did my first leg day yesterday..... I regret it sooo much. It's so scary trying to not fall down the stairs while carrying a baby. FX they get better if I keep doing them. Also ate my kids pizza last night so my monday was a fail. I totally blame it on my first post partum period this is one reason keeping me from doing anything hardcore exercise-wise yet. I’m terrified for the day after for having wobbly legs or arms and dropping the baby!!

I worked out yesterday for the first time since I don't even know when- before pregnancy for sure. I'm thinking of trying PiYo. Is anyone familiar? Yesterday I did a free PiYo workout on YouTube but if I stick with it I will get the Beachbody DVDs I guess. I love Piyo. I've only done the "live" version at the gym, but it's great. I'm just not motivated to workout at home regardless of the exercise.

I finished a Whole30 and only lost 5 pounds. I’m bummed. I don’t feel like I ate an excessive number of calories and have been working out daily for over three weeks. I know I’ve gained some muscle, but I’ve still got 9ish pounds to my pre pregnancy weight, and would really love to lose 15-20. I’m trying not to dwell on the numbers because I feel really good. But still. So defeating.

amesie thank you, I appreciate that. Four pounds came off in the first week so I feel like I haven’t really made progress. But I’m reminding myself I rarely lose weight while nursing. I’m not sure why I thought it would be different this time.

ajetter do you feel better though? I know a lot of people who don’t lose weight on a whole 30 but feel so much better.

ajetter do you feel better though? I know a lot of people who don’t lose weight on a whole 30 but feel so much better. I do. I really do. My energy level and mood is relatively stable. I know if I eat too many nuts I’m going to feel bloated. So I know it isn’t all for nothing. I just had that no more babies time to take my body back rush, when the reality is baby still owns me and this takes time. This was my fourth Whole30. Despite not losing a ton of weight I still recommend people give it a go. It’s amazing when you can feel how different foods fuel your body!

So now I'm curious on Whole30. I just started reading about it online. So you can't have any grains or beans. What do you eat other than just veggies and meat? I'm vegetarian so trying to figure out how it will work for me. I'm still reading about it so I don't expect you to give me all the answers.

I’m on my way to sign up for a yoga class this morning. I’ve been eating extremely well and have more energy, but the scale hasn’t changed in 3 weeks (I lost 4 lbs the first week of eating better). I’m also going to start back at aquafit on Sunday.
I really need some cardio and weight lifting but I’m so out of shape, I think it’s best to start out with some exercise that’s a bit easier.

But with some research and Meal planning you can have a lot of variety. And easily available foods have come a long way since I did my first one a few years ago. If anyone decides to go down that route I’d be happy to share lots of recipes!

sarahh I would take to Instagram and Pinterest to find more ideas for a vegetarian whole30. Not vegan are you? I guess most of my recipes do involve meat and eggs. I think there are some different regulations for a vegetarian Whole30 in the It Starts With Food book. If you cut all added sugar, gluten, and soy for a month. No alcohol. Low carb. I’m sure you’d get some of the same affects.
