Symptoms: Pelvic pain and exhaustion. I feel like a broken record.

Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? I'm still getting over a cold and my head is so congested right now. So badly it's painful in my sinuses and ears to blow my nose. brenna - YAY for nausea getting better!!! Enjoy that massage!!! ftwr - I'm sure you'll still want to check with your Dr just to be sure, but I flew at 8 weeks and 23 weeks with DS no problem. At 8 weeks I opted out of the scanner and got a pat down instead, but that was more PGAL brain than anything since the scanners have been deemed safe. At 23 weeks I did the scanners no problem. If it's a long flight, definitely make sure you get up and move around a couple times.

It's two flights but the first leg will be longer since we're stopping in Vegas.

Try to stay hydrated and get up a few times and you should be fine. I recommend loose fitting shoes in case your feet swell up at all, which is what the getting up and moving around is intended to help with (along with blood clot prevention - but it's more of a better safe than sorry situation, not a you need to be worried about them situation).

I flew to Europe when I was 19 weeks with my first and had no issues. You can request an aisle seat by calling the airline a couple of days before your flight, they always keep some seats for disability accommodations. I wanted to be able to get up easily and stretch my legs every hour or so on the 8 hour flight and also use the bathroom as many times as I needed. The main concern is blood clots with flying while pregnant, and on a shorter flight, you're probably fine just getting up once or twice. I skipped the scanner and got a pat-down from a female TSA agent.

Thanks guys. I spoke with the doctor's office and they said there were no restrictions in my chart so to stay hydrated and get and walk during my flights. I'll make sure to do a pat down, jic, and make sure I wear comfy shoes that can accommodate swelling. I never flew during my first pregnancy so this is all new to me.

Literally 6 hours away on opposite sides of the same state. Just want to sleep the whole time but iknowillbe wrangling kids. At least my parents will give us a break with the kids when we are at their house. But we will be sleeping on crappy beds and I'm just over it before we even go. Lol. I'm terrible.

TSA gave me no problems when I opted out of the body scan. Coming home took a bit longer to get it done because I was flying out of Orlando and it was packed, but even then they were nice about it and didn't give me any problems.
I will say that because it took a bit longer to get an available female TSA agent, my carry-on stuff made it though the scanner well before I was cleared to go through. I was happy I wasn't traveling alone because MH was able to grab my stuff so I didn't have to worry about anyone swiping it (on purpose or accidentally) while I was waiting for my pat down.
But that's Orlando. I barely had to wait for my pat down leaving our local airport.

One thing I wish US airports had were family lines for security. We have these in Portugal and most European airports ive been to. They make so much sense because it's all families with small kids, strollers, carseats etc. The staff all know exactly what to do and how to most easily security check this stuff and you don't worry about annoying other passengers because they have small kids too. The guards are always so super nice in these lines too!

NymeriaI'm jealous you can take Sudafed. I haven't been able to breathe out of my nose in over a week. I'm miserable. The past two days I've had spurts of one nostril working for a few mins but that's it. I've also had gnarly thick green snot so hopefully that means I'm getting better??

tbirdlove - Yay for starting to feel better!! pixiepink24 - Ugh, I was dealing with the same for a bit only being able to breathe out of one side at a time. Then both sides got blocked up then the sinus/ear pain started. I was really surprised Sudafed was on the ok list, and I really try to avoid taking stuff, but I was so desperate. I'm hoping I can get away with maybe one more dose tonight then stop taking it again.

You girls are lucky that made it through security with no issues getting the pat down. I traveled at 8 weeks and 33 weeks with DD and 12 weeks this time and I'm always questioned about the pat down and everyone makes it seem like the biggest inconvenience. One airport refused to do the pat down and I was pretty much in tears. I usually just go through the scanners now...

I only did the pat down when traveling at 8 weeks and I just told them I was newly pregnant and would prefer to avoid the scanners so early on. No one seemed to mind at all. Sorry you had to deal with shitty people.

It was at my local airport (a smaller airport) where the TSA agents are the rudest I've seen.

Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Don't know yet
Any Upcoming Appointments? First midwife appointment on 3/27 and blood draw

Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? I finally told a good friend. She is pregnant after IVF and I've just really felt guilty about being pregnant. I guess I have a lot of guilt overall and some embarassment. Just so many friends and people in general that are going through IF or losses and I'm over here getting pregnant by mistake in a relationship that is far from perfect. Just lots of feelings over here. I also just sort of told my old BmB on FB.
Another side rant, I'm bummed that I feel like I'm repeating the 9th week again. Like pregnancy isn't long enough?! Lol!

getdownpleaseNot to sound creepy but I'm wondering if I know where (roughly) you are located. You've mentioned two weather situations and I know we are in the same region on the states. Honestly, I'm just happy to hear there is someone not too far away! And if I'm right, I go there several times a year because SO's family is in that area.
