Is anyone else dreading having the nurses press on your uterus post-delivery? I think that's the thing I'm dreading the most. Like I can't quite get past it. I think I either built it up to be something worse than it was or my labor was so freaking intense it couldn't hold a candle. I expected much, much worse. The nursing contractions are a goddamn nuisance, though.

Help, how do I stop taking pictures of my kid? You don't, you just buy a new phone with more storage and/or take advantage of Google Photos' unlimited free storage. And you find yourself getting better and better at taking adorable pictures. ETA: Also feel free to overshare said adorable squish pics. Especially to tide over those of us still waiting for outside babies!

Just had an OB appointment, we were going to schedule induction as per low fluid last week, but fluid was normal today so back to waiting. Cervix so locked up she couldn’t do a sweep so doesn’t look like I’m having an “on time” baby.

It's 4:45 and I've been awake for an hour. I'm having contractions every 10 minutes but I really just want to go back to sleep.

katietopaz yes to the nursing contractions. I wasn’t expecting that either and am not excited this time around. I guess discomfort is ending anytime soon is it?

the uterus pressing was so much worse this time for me im not sure why. i was warned about the nursing contractions this time around and i had expected them to be so much worse than they were, but the nurses gave me heat packs to put on my belly and that seemed to help.
i’ve been up since 245...dd2 was a mess after both feedings last night and i’m not sure what the deal was. we have an appointment for the next ultrasound and urine collection this afternoon, so i don’t think i’ll be getting a chance to rest during dd1 naptime. i will be drinking all the coffee today.

I'm trying to catch up here. Thanks for the well wishes yesterday. I'm in an extreme amount of pain in my right hand from the steroid injections. It hurts worse now than it did before getting it done. Apparently, the steroid injections can cause the pain and symptoms to become more severe for 3-5 days after before getting better. Nobody warned me of this ahead of time. 😐 I'm so tired of dealing with this. Needless to say there's been lots of tears on my part and not a whole lot of rest. On the plus side, my left hand is doing much better. So, that's good at least.

So the snow is dumping here in Northern Va. my office didnt close - but schools are closed as is the kids daycares sooo I’m home.
Plus the roads are bad.
Hubs is supposed to fly in this afternoon BUT that depends on the weather too. My mom is staying today so that’s good. And even tho I’m only 35.5 weeks pls pray this baby stays put bc it would not be fun trying to get to the hospital today.

Still here. Still pregnant. I did start to lose my mucus plug I think (ugh so gross, that never happened w/ Em). And I had some contractions overnight but nothing that lasted. I felt so confident yesterday it was imminent but nope.
Between the contractions, pregnosomnia and Em having a bad dream, I slept like craaaaaaaap last night. And Em's preschool is closed today so I have to entertain a 2.5yo and work all day. Super fun.

I am honestly really angry that I caught the toddler’s cold. That makes illness #83837282893 this pregnancy. I am so. Fucking. Done.

Ugh I'm so sorry ArielMermaid. I'm still dealing with this sinus infection from 2 weeks ago and it's the worst. YOu shouldn't be able to get sick when you're pregnant.

+1 to nursing contractions (and uterus-pressing) being way worse than I remember, every time.

I'm really sorry about the continued pain mattsgirl2004. That sounds so miserable and I hope it eases up soon now that you've had the injection. I had completely forgotten the uterus checks and nursing contractions from last time. The fact that the nursing contractions are supposed to be worse with subsequent pregnancies definitely makes me a bit nervous. Hopefully they don't last long. It's snowing here again and I'm just so over it. I really want some spring weather and sunshine. My winter coat no longer buttons.

We were telling DD last night that when I go to the hospital, I'm going to have to be there a few days and she's going to stay home with Daddy. She told me she'd give me lots of hugs and kisses to make me feel better. I asked her if she would give the baby kisses too. She said no because he's a boy and she doesn't want to give boys kisses. Can I remind her of this in about 10 years?

My mom just texted me that my dad is probably going to have heart bypass surgery soon. Our whole family (mom, Dad, brother, sister and their spouses and children) were supposed to be going to Disney World in May, but my parents may not be able to go now. I hate that my dad has so many health problems.

I'm sorry woodenshoes. My mom has a lot of health problems too, and it's hard. I hope that the surgery goes well for him when he gets it done.

I made it in! The snow fizzled a bit and isn't supposed to blow in until later. So my appointment this morning was a mix. My own OB was in surgery so I had another physician. I'm up to 3 cm. My OB never would have swept my membranes but this doctor was all "shhhhhh" and did without being asked. Lol. Bad news is they wouldn't schedule the induction until 41 weeks exactly. Wtf. WTF.
Since it was my due date I got treated to an ultrasound and a NST. She is approximately 8 pounds and has chubby cheeks. She passed the test with flying colors and I was having regular contractions. I've been having regular stronger contractions every 20 minutes for the last two and a half hours. Please please please be it!!!
DH and I went out to a fancy restaurant for lunch and now we are just sitting here staring at each other.

calendula - ummm. In the words of my nurse with DD, “Go have the sex.” woodenshoes ugh I’m so sorry. Hopefully he doesn’t end up needing it and if he does, they can get him in ASAP and recovery is smooth.
