I was laying in bed and woke up to a gush. Pry not as much as my bladder held at that point, I ran to the bathroom and I remember thinking that I peed so much that the gush couldn't have been pee because my bladder didn't hold that much. I wasn't sure that I was having contractions for quite a while, just cramps, but they got more regular in a few hours and then got painful at 6+cm? if I remember right. calendula

I am nursing DD just because... Really I would like her to take a nap and she is wiiiiide awake but obviously heading towards the over tired stage. She's not really due to eat nor was she acting hungry but I am hoping I can top her off and convince her to rest.
We had a big day today! Her and I went to babies r us, Wal-Mart, and Sam's Club. That's the first time we have gone out just the two of us, and the 2nd time I have driven in a month. I had a bunch of money to spend at babies r us and with the constant threat of stores closing I really didn't want to hang on to them for too terribly long. So we got some baby things, a few groceries. And I got to get out of the house by myself which was really nice. There was very little crying and I nursed her in the mother's room at the store. It was a pretty successful day.

nuggetrn I’ve had the hardest time getting L down for naps during the day if he doesn’t fall asleep while nursing. Which he will do occasionally, but then maybe 5-10 min after I lay him down (in the pnp, rnp, or halo) he wakes up. He’ll for sure keep sleeping if I hold him, but sometimes that’s just not feasible. And if he doesn’t fall asleep while nursing, even if when he’s been up for a while already, I cannot figure out how to get him to sleep. We rock, walk, shush, sway, and on and on but he’s just awake and alert. And then eventually fussy because I’m guessing he’s overtired by then. Sorry for the long vent. I hope DD’s top off helped her nap! Also, you’re braver than me! I’m still holed up in my house with no plans to leave anytime soon. I’m too scared to go out with L, mostly bc I’m not confident I could handle it. Edit - tagged the wrong person. Sorry alwayscheese. L decided he wanted to party instead of sleep last night.

Thank you!! I haven't had any fluid since, so I'm a little bummed it didn't start fast and furious lol. But I did have some timeable contractions at dinner. We will see what happens during the night!

I feel like this baby is sitting on my bladder juuuuust right so I always feel like I have to pee, but can’t let any pee out. If I end up with a UTI I’ll be so mad at it.

mattsgirl2004 I am so so glad the play date went so well!! And fx neurology will get you taken care of ASAP. When they do do your injections you should see if will inject an anesthetic that is a little longer acting (I think marcaine is what I am used to seeing) alongside the steroid they will use. That way you get some immediate relief because the steroid will take a few days to work. If that's not already standard for them. But I would definitely ask what they are injecting and find out how long til it will take effect. Thanks so much for the extra info! I'll definitely ask about what they're injecting and the time frame of it all. Fast relief would be amazing. Appreciate the help!

clementine she passed out on my boob after about 20 minutes. Success! But then I was like, I should probably change her... So she woke up a bit and now we are swaddled and rocking in the chair with the sound machine on. She was soaked though so it was a good call even though I woke her up a bit. The goal is to get her to sleep some so I can go lay down with DH who I feel like I haven't seen in a week. Oh wait... We have gotten to sleep in the same bed 3 times since we got home from the hospital. He works nights and it has been hard. I don't often have to try to make her sleep during the day, she will usually drift off on her own after eating. But then that means that I am holding her and stuck on the couch. I don't usually try to move her and so we just hang out. It has only been the last few days that she has been kind of angry if she is not being held and seems to be majorly fighting sleep. I am hoping I can set her in the bassinet and have her be happy.

How exciting calendula, hope things pick up!!! I’m drinking coffee and going out for lunch soon, yesterday morning with DS1 was great but by the afternoon I was in tears, uncomfortable and slightly in pain but he was being very attention demanding. He’s at daycare today and it is much easier. I’ve been talking to him a lot about how when mummy is in hospital I’ll have to stay there a few days to rest and he’s not seemed to bothered but yesterday he cried... “and DS1 too” and cried more when I said no you’ll be here with your Nana and daddy will be here a lot too. My heart just broke. He’s such a mum’s boy, I’m worried that he’ll be super upset when he leaves the hospital (which my post partum hormones will not cope with) or that he’ll “punish” me when I do come home and not be as lovey and snuggly as he usually is with me. Sigh.

Oof, today has been a day. Part 2 of DS1's eval went okay, but it sounds like they're going to be recommending a full program for him (4 hours a day, 5 days a week) and seem confident that we're ultimately looking at an ASD diagnosis. Honestly I've just had to push it all to the back burner in my mind. I don't have the capacity to process it right now.
Insurance only wants to cover part of the prescription hemi cream my OB called in, but no thank you to paying $48 for that.
And I've been too nauseous to eat, most of the day.
Basically, I want to have this baby now. And as soon as my mom gets here Wednesday, I'll be pulling out all the stops to get things moving.

I asked if any one could recommend an acupuncture office that offers moxibustion on our local mom Facebook group... and got a shit ton of guilt and scary stories instead. Either they gave birth 20 years ago and “wish me luck with my decision” but thought I should know theyre thankful they didn’t do it bc their baby’s cord was wrapped around them a billion times OR that they were pregnant last year and their baby flipped at 28 weeks which was great bc their OB said no one offers ECVs anymore bc they’re too dangerous - it’ll stress out the baby and they’ll poop!
GFY general public! Serves me right for trying to get a decent recommendation on Facebook.

nevertoomanyshoes Oh, that is heartbreaking, I'm sorry. I have a lot of similar worries about my May15 DS, but it's been so reassuring to hear about older siblings here and from May15 have adjusted so well to their new siblings. It'll be a transition, but they'll get there! Leaf 🌱 Oh my gosh, why do people feel the need to share such unhelpful anecdotes? I'm sorry. Sometimes those local FB groups are the absolute worst.

Well, topping her off and taking a nap certainly worked. We didn't wake up until close to midnight.

It's after midnight here and baby has been nursing nonstop since 9pm 😴. My nipples hurt so bad. I thought this was more of a second day thing than first night. I really hope it doesn't repeat tomorrow night. I'm so tired.

No. I slept like a baby last night 😞 (Like a hypothetical baby, not an actual baby, because we know actual babies don't sleep)

Thanks katietopaz and nuggetrn. I knew better than to ask. The worst part was not one person gave an actual recommendation for an acupuncturist LOL I bought this PPB axis diaper bag but am now debating my decision. It seems SO SO big... but I’m trying to remind myself that it’ll hold my stuff, LO’s, and DD’s. And DD went through at least two outfits everyday... and so did I thanks to her habit of explosive poops while nursing 😣 What is everyone else planning on using?
