We had a good weekend away. DS is just getting a little bit difficult in public especially restaurants. He wants to go out to eat but then finds anything/everything to complain about & he can be so.loud. Engaging him makes it worse so I need this phase to be over pronto. We went to monster jam & there was only one show so it started at 7. By 8:30ish, DS was asking if we could leave. uhhh no we're not leaving. Lol so then he was whining about that. We're just in a super whiny/complaining stage right now. It's just like whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

We had a snow day too. Thankfully we didn’t get hit as bad as they were originally saying. My son had a field trip from last week that had been rescheduled to today due to the last storm. I wonder if they will try to reschedule it again or just cancel it. It’s kind of funny the field trip is connected to the lesson they had on weather.
We have parent/teacher conferences next week. My son’s teacher will be on maternity leave soon so we’ll most likely be meeting her replacement that night. I’m glad we will get a chance to meet her. She has been spending time in the classroom, and my son says that he likes her. I really like the teacher he has now, fx his new teacher will be just as good.

I've been forcing myself to cook even though I can't eat much with my gallbladder issue. DH and DD still need to eat and I don't want them to have take out every night. I'm counting down the days until I see the surgeon and finally get a date set.

Want to know what is an underrated workout? Taking a rather large dog to the vet when he really doesn’t want to be there and having to hold him while they look at his very itchy ears. Good for working up a sweat.
DD’s school is closed today so she “helped” walk the dog to the vet. Now we are just hanging around until gymnastics this afternoon. Then we have to go gift shopping for a friend of mine who I am seeing on Friday for a very fancy high tea. No idea what I am going to wear then.

It was horrendous so I hope you get a resolution soon. It really does suck.

Today's the National School Walkout day. There are so many teachers either taking the day off or half days. I'm really confused by it because all I'm reading online is that majority of what schools do is walk out for the 17 minutes, protest, & then continue their day & we're talking high schools is what I thought. I've seen most of DS' school teachers out today on my site for jobs. I'm perplexed. I am in fact covering for one's half day before I put two & two together that it was for the walkout. I originally wasn't going to work on this day but I feel bad voiding it because I took it quite a while ago.

NamasteBirches I've seen SM where elementary kids participate in the walk out. I support it, but DD is still 6 and I think kids this young don't really understand the purpose or current events.

I agree. DS has no idea about what's going on & honestly I wanna keep it that way for as long as I can. He's really innocent & kind of young for his age so I think it would cause unnecessary anxiety for him. I've seen elementary schools have kids lay down in the front lawn or wherever to protest & while I get it, I'm just not sure how I feel about that. I'm kind of glad the school did nothing to my knowledge. I'm here now & there's really not a lot of maroon/silver. That's the only thing that went out from the district. In solidarity of the school to wear their colors.

As far as I know only JH/high school kids were participating here.

I'm at the ER with DD. She was vomiting a ton & complaining of stomach pain. They've given her Zofran & have her hooked up with IV fluids. She's perked up quite a bit, so I'm hopeful that they'll let us go home soon.

We are going out to dinner tonight. After this crazy week, I am really looking forward to enjoying a relaxing meal.
Tomorrow my dad and sister + family are coming over. BIL is continuing to help DH with installing our new cabinets. So I am cooking dinner. I am going to attempt to cook a roaster chicken in the crock-pot. I've never done it before so hopefully it comes out well.

Ugh, this morning we were all dressed and at the front door when DD went “ I’m going to throw up”. Luckily she made it to the bathroom in time. And stayed home from school and was ok. I went to meet a friend for a very nice high-tea and DH sends me a pic of DD sleeping so she is obviously not 100%. And tonight, as we got to her room to go to bed, she vomited again ☹️ Everything is cleaned up and she is sleeping and I am really hoping this is the last of it.
At least high-tea was nice 🙂 No plans yet for the weekend but I think we will take it easy due to DD and also crap weather.
