Wait. I thought that wasn't legal anymore. It is in certain states, I think (I very well could be wrong). I’d be burning shit down if this was the options for my kids. ISS/OSS/detention, okay. Change doesn’t come easy nor does standing up for what is right or your beliefs. Corporal? Hell to the fucking no for even offering that as an option. |

My husband's school (around 3,000 students I think) had about half the students participate.
There was also students that remained behind yelling at the ones walking out "LIBERALS!" as if it were a slur.
So. There's that.

Is arming teachers like the birther movement? Where by even bothering to point out that it's absurd we inadvertently ligitimize it? Without the subtext of the fact that the birth movement was racist in intent. Though in some ways so would be arming teachers, but there I go. Maybe this is a bubble thing that I feel secure in the far fetched nature of the "proposal"?

Yes. Tapa is drunk. It doesn't remember where I am in threads anymore at all. Last night it turned every thread into one long scrolling page and was just generally being squirrelly. I'm back to desktop this morning so have no idea if it's still happening. the last tapatalk update I got 3-4 months ago turned threads into one long scrolling page and I HATE it. It's impossible to find a post. |

The new Cybercommand/NSA Director nominee just testified in his confirmation hearing that we need to prepare for continued aggression from Russia and says that cybersecurity and election security should be a government-wide collaboration, but that leadership comes from the top down.
in other words, do your damn job, POTUS.

I'm so glad Conor Lamb won, but I saw him interviewed on Morning Joe and he is aggressively boring lol. It was kind of a relief to see a boring politician again though, tbh.

I figured out how to listen to NPR on the Echo this week. (Spoiler: It’s not hard, I’m just technology-challenged.) My children are being schooled that the late morning is now mommy’s radio listening time and not Paw Patrol time.

This tweet captures my cousin in a nutshell. She will go all out for the animals, but when it comes to people she’s very much “too bad so sad, don’t touch my money” while voting for Trump. We were close as kids, so it really hurts to see that disconnect now. |
