I went in for my scheduled induction Sunday, March 4. DH and I got ti the hospital around 5:30 pm. I was prepped and ready to go around 6:30. I was barely dilated so I did cervidil first. That was in until 5:30 the next morning. The cervidil did not help me make much progress but I was still started on pitocin around 6:30 a.m. My OB broke my water around 8:00 or 9:00 am. I ended up on the max dose of pitocin and never dilated past 3 cm. Either my body was not ready to have the baby (I was at 38+2 weeks) or baby boy did not want to come down. I was given an epidural around 3:00 in hopes that it would move things a long if I was more relaxed. When I got the epidural my BP tanked. I got clamy and almost passed out. It was a little scary. That surprised me since I had no problems with my Epidural with DS1. They also tried one other medication, I don’t remember the name, to try to get me to progress. Around 4:30 my OB suggested consider a csection. The baby was having some heart decelerations I agreed to it. I could have labored for longer but I was done.
We went to the OR for the procedure sometime around 5:00 pm and DS2 was here at 5:28 pm The actual C-section went well. I love my OB and she was fun in the OR. Unfortunately due to the concerns with DS2s breathing he was put on cpap for 25 minutes. Then they had the heart rate concerns and he was given IV fluids. He also had a tongue tie they clipped. The next afternoon was when he was sent to NICU I feel like I barely got to see DS the 1st 24 hours. I am glad we are all home now.
